  1. Go all out for this cup, leagues and COC are gone and CL is unlikely.
  2. Sir Alex has always backed his fellow managers and defended their jobs even when they are indefensible, even Moyes, he's very old school and firmly belives in managerial stabilty and giving them time.If Pellegrino starts piping up then defiently he has an ulterior motive but Fergie not so much.
  3. It could go wrong, and it will be a critical season but we can get through it being clever enough, unlike the last time we dropped out of the top 4 (for Munich to save us) we do have a good enough team despite this shit storm, if we can keep the main players and prudently add we will have a good chance of bouncing back. Even if we can't attract the very best, there will be players about who could improve us as a unit, look at Spurs with Alderwierld. On the other side we could mess it up like Liverpool did and get worse, but that's an alternative that isn't worth thinking about.
  4. For one season we can hide behind the it's a one off and were be back in CL next season. If we fail again, we have a problem.
  5. When I say by a distance its more of how much I rate Tibo than any knock on De Gea, I think the Spaniard is a world class keeper, I honestly believe Tibo is one of those generational talents. Shot stopping is close between him and De Gea but what swings it in Courtois favour for me is his all round game, he's like an air traffic control commander with the ball in the air (which is David's Achilles heal). Hopefully De Gea goes to Madrid next summer so Courtois doesn't get any ideas, I would honestly be more gutted about losing Tibo than I would Hazard.
  6. He has everything needed in a world class keeper, he really does. What impresses me the most is his positioning is so good he makes what would be hard borderline impossible saves for most other keepers, look straight forward and routine. Begovic did very well filling in but this guy is the best keeper in the league by some distance.
  7. If we are going to be technical about it, he is the first manager to win it for God knows how long with a negative net spend the previous summer.
  8. That has confused me a bit now, in the past he has always been quick to drop underperforming players even if they are his favroite (kissed Pepe on the forhead then dropped him for Varane weeks later) yet with Ivanovic, nothing. With the sales however, in my opinion only kdb was an error (admittedly a big one), Lukaku didn't want to be a rotation player and we got Costa, we got good money for a player we didn't need and Lukaku got the right move for his career. Mata was a great bit of buisness for me, he tailed off in early 2013 and he hasn't been anywhere near the same player since, in fact a lot of United fans I speak to say he is invisible on the pitch sometimes and last season they critisised his end product (which was the main argument to play him over Oscar when Jose got here).
  9. Fergie has always been pro fellow managers when it comes to sackings , when he was at United he use to always pipe up every time a manager was sacked and go on about how unfair it was, no matter who it was, which got annoying after a while.
  10. Sadly that looks the case now and if he can't turn this around or gets sacked soon his long term coaching abilities will be exposed for all to see. However this is his first job where he has even attempted the long term route, in previous jobs he made it clear he wanted to do a European tour before attempting to settle down.
  11. Fair enough, I don't mind critism or wanting him out but the fanboy route Is to far for me. Last season people were crtitical of Drogbas on pitch displays but always remained respectful to him, can't see why that can't be the case now with Jose.
  12. He will probably fix the issue in the summer, but their is only so much he can do with that current side.
  13. I don't mean you actively want him as manager, but If it ended up happening and he flopped badly, would you like being called a Ray fanboy for not being too harsh on him?
  14. Liverpool on a decent run? I'd back us to do it before they do, they are wildly inconsistent, yes they may have thrashed City and Saints, but in the midst of it they have lost to Palace, Newcastle and narrowly beat a Swansea side on their knees and were dreadful in all three games, yesterday was the worst team.performance by any side this season, and given I've seen every Game we've played, that's saying something.
  15. If he returned as gaffer and relegated us, would be a little easier on the crtisism due to him being your favroite? If the answer is yes, then surely you can understand why there's people who are giving the man who's brought home three titles to this club similar type of leniency?
  16. Who is you're favroite person that has ever represented Chelsea? Can be a player or manager.
  17. I'm on the other end of the scale with manager sackings, for me very very few don't have very good reasons as to why it's happened. The main example for me is Southampton, when Nigel Adkins was sacked the footballing nation was in outrage, yet it turned out to be one of the best decisions a club has ever made 're a manager. That's why I don't like the argument of this manager isn't doing bad and doesn't deserve the sack, sometimes (like with Adkins) they don't get sacked because they are doing bad, they get sacked because there is a better manager ready and wanting the job, players do well and get upgraded on all the time, so why can't managers?
  18. Liverpool under Klopp so far are a bit like our pre Roman side, can be amazing on their day but are riddled with inconsistency, it's worth noting that despite winning at The Bridge and The Ehtiad they lost today, at home to Palace and needed a penalty to beat a Swansea side on their knees.
  19. The biggest mystery is Jose before this season lost four home league games in 12 and a half years, how the hell has he managed to double that tally in just three months?
  20. Puttin words in my mouth. Courtois was brilliant today despite the team playing shit, if he did that in other colours your be on his thread making post after post.
  21. We need to throw money at Courtois and get him signed up to another deal, whatever it takes.
  22. Look at West Brom, Myhill does good when he plays but when Fosters fit he plays. In goal you pick your pecking order and stick to it.
  23. Yes, and for the whole of last season that was reversed. Point is no manager is perfect, and defending is part of the game so if its brought up that Jose wouldn't get what Pellegrino has out of KDB its only fair to say Jose woukd have got more out of Kompany, Mangala than what the Chillean has done.
  24. Well it isn't all year and even if it was, Drogba and Rooney had shit calendar years and came back strong. 2nd half of last season after Swansea he played 11 games (12 if youre picky and include 5 minutes against Stoke) and scored 4, could have been better but is by no means catastrophic. I don't think Lukaku is a bad player, far from it, but its going to take a bit more before he (in my mind) overtakes a player who has led his team to trophies the last three seasons.
  25. Can't that be flipped both ways tho,as Pellegrinis system is making some top class defenders look awful. I've seen Mangala play before and no way is he the clown that people think he is, if we got him he would have been brilliant.
