  1. Torrws produced an amazing performance against City, Bosingwa vs Barcelona, I'm glad you mentioned Kalas because hes another who in my opinion is nowhere near good enough for us. Promoting Kalas and Bamford will be like United promotingBlackett and Powell, waste of time for both parties. Id understand if Bamford didn't play because of good strikers, but to be behind Wickham in the pecking order speaks volumes, also with Patrick we are not talking about a young kid, he's nearly 23, likewise with Kalas. Liverpool got very lucky to draw against a mid table league two team, I live an hour from Exeter so took interest in the game and the Grecians battered them and got unlucky not to win, similar fate could find our way if we get too I with the line-up, some rotation, some youth, but a strong team is still needed.
  2. He shouldn't play for two reasons. One being if he plays we can't loan him out again and I don't think he's anywhere near good enough, If he can't get into a side where the other strikers haven't scored from open play, that's a massive red flag.
  3. Maybe we did and Kalas didn't want to do it.
  4. Because we failed in our targers and needed an emergency player just jncase of a crisis. He got some minutes against Walsall.
  5. I don't think Cesar is as bad going forward as made out, obviously not Cole quality but I think it was more instrucions from Jose than lack of ability in his part. The few times he ventured forward last season he made a positive impact, prime example Diego Costas winner at Anfield. Also he has nearly netted twice in three games under Hiddink, which only strengthens my argument that he was shackled under Jose going forward.
  6. Back around 2011/12 time there was some average English players who were getting overhyped beyond their abilities (Carroll, Jones, Henderson, could even argue Cahill aswell) and its quite funny because just as England are starting to get some geuine quality through the ranks people have gone too far the other way and call "overhype" on every English player. Butland (Viper we had this debate a while back I though he was average but I was wrong, but he didn't look great at Birmingham), Stones, Shaw, Sterling, Dele Ali, Kane and Barkley are all massively talented players with huge potential yet I've heard the phrase overrated/overhyped about every single one of them on numerous occasions, it's almost as like people want to compensate for the band of players that were overhyped a few years back. If we sign Stones would we haveoverpayed for him? Sure, but if he gives us ten plus years of world class service(which he is capable off), who the hell will care? I certainly won't.
  7. The fact that its our b team just goes to show how incredibly weak our squad is, lower league sides playing PL in the cup can be tough at the best of times (numerous examples of league one sides giving top PL teams close games Bradford vsChelsea, Burton I think it was Vs United last season, Leyton Orient vs Arsenal) put that team out I really really would not be even in the slightest surprised if we are not in the hat for the next round. What is the point of playing Papy? He is not good enough for us, never will be and will be leaving soon, id rather wejust played Cahill and Zouma or even shoved Ivan or Mikel at CB instead. I do hope atleast 2 of RLC, Kenedy and Traore get some game time this weekend and the other gets off the bench, but the likes of Papy and Bamford shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch on Sunday.
  8. We can't seem to see the posts we've liked or go through our own posts that have been liked anymore. Is that going to come when the new layouts more settled or has that feature gone? I only ask because when I'm bored and there's not much activity going on here, I tend to scroll down my previous posts that have been liked, vain I know but hey ho
  9. If we don't win his first game as assistant you're be the first to call the appointment pointless and/or use it as another example as to why Hiddinks clueless.
  10. How is it any similar? Pellegrino won the league by a very narrow margain, so far has done very little in Europe for City and never at any point under his management have City been undisputed number one. Chelsea mark 1 under Jose however, won back to back titles in the most convincing and comfortable manners you can think off, went far in Europe smashing Barca and Bayern to peices en route only got get halted by Rafas bus parking tactics, we were head and shoulders above any other team in England and probably Europe as well, infact we were probably in those two season's the best and most complete side in English football history and if it wasn't for people having an issue with money spent and "style" then that team would have probably got recognized as so. So yes, decent managers like Pellegrini can win things with money, but to create the sheer domination and aura of invincibility Jose created in 04-05 and 05-06, you need a lot more than a blank cheque to do that, a lot lot more!!!!
  11. I know theirs a desperation around playing youth player's, but could we atleast play players who are good enough or at least have the potential to be. Bamford is neither it would be like United playing Nick Powell, complete waste of time for both parties.
  12. We will be fine, if we dropped out in 2012 we would have been in shit because the squad wasn't very good, now despite this shitstorm, we do have quality in this squad and if we can keep these players together and add well, we can defiantly recover next season, especially if we can finish in or around the top of the league table from when Hiddink came in onwards. Take the Palace game for example, was better than any display in 10/11, 11/12 or 12/13, this squad is still capable.
  13. Drogba would have had his pick of English clubs if he wanted them when he left in 2012, but he decided to 100% protect his legacy, not that Lamps or Cech have lost that here, but I wonder if anyone favrouite player couple of years back was Lampard or Cech but have since changed to Didieror Terry, maybe without even thinking in some cases. It's a similar situation to a certain Dane goalie at United, still a legend, but his decision to play for a rival later onputs a bit of an elephant in the room. You are right they have the right to decide what they want to do, but fans also have the right to feel how they want to feel.
  14. Im sure it would have been easier for Drogba to stay in London/England after leaving in 2012 but he didn't. I'm sure it would have been easier for Henry to stay in London after leaving Arsenal (we would have had him let's be honest) but he didn't. As Term said with Lampard, when a legacy is built at a club you just don't play for a rival, you only need to look at what Nedved said about Jose approaching him for Inter, he gave up playing under the special one and a treble to protect his legacy at Juve. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's a traitor or everything he's done for us is forgotten, far from it, but i can't pretend I'm happy he's at Arsenal and going to spend the next few years hoping we lose every weekend.
  15. I don't know who I'm more wound up at, Roman for letting him go to Arsenal or Cech for actually doing it. How can anyone spend 11 years here and want to go anywhere near that club is beyond me.
  16. Or we could get shot of both Falcao and Bamford or sign someone who is actually good enough.
  17. Blaming Rafa for falling off United is like blaming Jose for coming in and finishing below Liverpool, United dropped something like ten points during Rafa's whole reign at Chelsea (three of which against us after they won the league), the team we had that season weren't good enough to win the league. He came in and made us a more solid unit, we were a lot more competitive in the big games (won two draw one vs United, beat Arsenal, drew vs Spurs and Liverpool, did lose to.City tho), he got us consistent results in big games which we lacked since the double season, something as well we know Jose built on. He also had not a great firstXl to work with never mind depth and got us 3rd place with the bonus of a trophy, he also did it with a record breaking run of fixtures. Did I like him? Not really, Did I want him full time over Jose's return? God no, would I ever want him back? Defiantly not, but he did a good job under difficult circumstances and deserves credit for that.
  18. We would be handing Scunthorpe victory on a gold plate with that line-up. A defense that has never played with one and other (Zouma and Baba aside) and 4/6 mids and strikers being kids. I hope a couple youngsters play but that's overkill, take Pedro out and replace him with another youngster and that line-up would be eligible for an U21 match. This is our best chance of a trophy and I will be annoyed if we blow it, a lot more annoyed than ill be if the latest teen pet project gets cruelly robbed of twenty minutes at the end.
  19. Why does it have to be a must? Just because they are on loan from Chelsea doesn't make playing time compulsory, that way ones that do play (Ake) are playing because they deserve it.
  20. As PSG shown with Ibra, Thiago Silva, Motta, Ibra and Maxwell, they are around and can be brought, question is who and where? Maybe Ibra himself on a short term deal will be our first port of call. The summer we should prioritize boosting the mental strength of the dressing room anyone else (unless their names are Pogba or Stones) should come secondary.
  21. I know it's the culture around here to over rate anyone under the age of 21 (or overs apparently getting cruelly denied a Chelsea career like Bamford) but this is just too far.
  22. Vidic ball skills makes Ramires look like Hazard but he wasn't a bad defender.
  23. We tend to rest on our laurels a bit when in top and that's a big problem, but in the past when we've been in a bit of bother and needed to spend we have, January 2011, Summer 2012 and too a lesser extent January 2014. Can see us splashing a lot in January and the summer, late but better late than never.
  24. I don't know what's worse the fact Cech choose Arsenal or the fact Roman sanctioned it. Thierry Henry would have probably liked London life and been partial to staying, but he would never have come here after leaving Arsenal. When you build up such a legend status at a club, you DON'T join a rival, its one thing Cesc and Gallas doing it, its another Cech doing it.
  25. In the league their is still 57 points to play for, we have to aim for at least 40 to put us on 60, where that puts us in the table depends on others, but we have to aim for that to put some respectability back in this campaign.
