  1. In many ways this is worse than the other big six games. Atleast in them we got beat outright by a better side on the day, United basically gifted us this in pink fluffy wrapping and we still only drew.
  2. That's the biggest gift we've received since John Arne Riise.
  3. He's not average, he's just been playing in a position that exposes his weakness (end product), he's actually the exact type of player we were missing for Jose's double pivot and especially Conte's midfield two. However he must be signed as a Jorginho and Kante cover and not as a cheap solution to the attacking position of the 3. As for Ampadu, his future's CB, he's an odinary midfielder but a (potentially) elite CB if/when he cuts out his rash tackles.
  4. But on the flip side it worked out well appointing Mourinho and to an extent Hiddink the first time (his stock was high after his great work at Euro 2008). It's up to the club to identify which managers are riding the crest of a wave and which aren't, and if the remit (which it should be given the circumstances we find ourselves in) is to build a future around the best youth we have while playing good football then he fits the bill.
  5. I'm sorry but that's hyberbole. He leaves we still finish no worse than 6th. Even without him our team is still better than the states Liverpool and Spurs got themselves in a few years back and they always finished top 6/7 apart from one exception with Liverpool.
  6. Would we? I think part of the reason we have tried to move to this style of football is because how badly we did the previous season and two years before that playing to our supposed strengths. The problem with pragmatic machine like football it's is very much fine while competing for the major trophies and getting the results but when we're not it's absolutely soul destroying to watch (last season, 15/16 and 10/11 prime examples). If we can successfully build this style of football then we can always have enjoyable games to fall back on even when we aren't challenging for the big one's. Even this season with the project probably not even 20% implemented i prefer these games (bar about a month in the winter) to 95% of what was served up in those season's mentioned above.
  7. Word is Kepa was wanted by Sarri at Napoli and he suits his football. If we just brought in a keeper because we needed one i imagine Butland would have come in at a cheaper price. Ten Hag like Henrique said would be ideal, but I can see him having most of Europe after him especially if he wins the CL. Failing that it has to be someone that has the football principles of attacking, high press and play out of the back (I don't follow general football as much as I use too so can't give a wide variety of names I'd have been able to if asked a similar question in 2012). We are unlikely to be catching City and Liverpool in the next year or two so the priority has to be building a pathway to do so eventually, so with that in mind an appointment similar to City's with Pellegrini (I know he won the league but the whole purpose of his appointment was to lay the foundations for Pep/bigger things) won't be the worst thing in the world.
  8. Yeah my bad I miscounted but at the same time I forgot Pulisic, who is another player more suited to a high energy proactive game (nicking the ball high up is his best attribute from what I've seen).
  9. Kepa. He is not the type of keeper for pragmatic tactics.
  10. Even if we sack Sarri it's absolutely vital we carry on with the possession based high pressing style. Not only is it more in tune with the modern day way, we committed nearly £140m on two players suited to that style already.
  11. If he's so good at motivating players why do Arsenal have relegation form away? Why did he not win a single away game in his last season at Seville? Why did his Paris perform the biggest ever bottlejob?
  12. By that logic any rational person would have expected us to get a result at Anfield as we went into the game unbeaten in 7 years there.
  13. You can't compare Moyes with Conte but you definitely can AVB, the latter of whom got a job at Spurs months after leaving us.Also re Jose despite his history i highly doubt another top club would have appointed him if he pulled a 15/16 elsewhere, LVG had 7 titles and a CL ti his name but wasn't again touched with a bargepole post United. The stigma about the players being the problem area (true to an extent but they certainly aren't the main cause like the media claim) has led to this job being a free hit in terms of reputation risk, for another example if us sacking Sarri coincides with Pochettino finally going to a club that matches his ambitions i could quite easily see Maurizio heading Spurs, but if Emery cocks up at Arsenal he'll never get a similar level job.
  14. I think it's the opposite, the managers get little blame when things go wrong here but United the manager gets the flak, that's why all our sacked manager's can walk into other high profile jobs and sacked United one's can't.
  15. Not atall, just this constant hyping of every single one of our opponents is ridiculous. There's a difference between being cautious and totally writing of our chances against a team below us who are on their worst run of form for generations.
  16. Were about to play them so that means they're as good as Peps Barca on here.
  17. Wait, so we've got no chance against an spectacularly out of form team below us in the table? I swear we could play Torres on his own and some of you would try and pass us off as underdogs
  18. Those United players you've mentioned all make Willian look as consistent as Lampard.
  19. The "we are shit and our rivals are amazing" thing has always been a big trend on here.
  20. I don't think the comments being critical is impatience (I've only seen one person totally write him off) I think it's more down to the fact of how hyped he's being and how Sarri is being seen as the devil for not playing him and the last few games especially shows he has a lot to learn and isn't the instant upgrade that has been made out.
  21. Football doesn't work like that, we won the CL the same season an Alex McLeish infected Villa side took the piss out of us at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, Arsenal defeat at Molinaex and City win at Old Trafford it's in our hands.
  22. As soon as the permanent deal was announced things went to shit, exactly like Liverpool and Kenny. Hopefully OGS is as wasteful in the market and sets the club back years like Dalglish did.
  23. Sensational headline that took one sentence totally out of context.
  24. I do agree but it would be good material to wind up Liverpool fans with. "You're best team possibly ever and a Chelsea side deep in transition had a better season".
  25. Klopp took over after like 7/8 games, he didn't exactly take over a hopeless relegations battle at Christmas. He may have won against us and City but he was constantly dropping points against shit teams because he wasn't ruthless enough with his defense and the attack couldn't break them down, a defense he didn't fix for over two years. Narrow wins against City and Spurs? Both were very comfortable.
