Firmly disagree, that kind of mindset was why the England national side took the best part of a century to finally win one. If it was a lottery most takers and keepers records would be roughly equal. Caballero averages just short of a save every two kicks he faces, that's not luck.
-
Why would it ruin their careers?
-
Overall he's average but his penalty record is insane, he saves every other kick he faces on average.
-
Couldn't disagree more and thinking it is about luck is one of the reasons England kept losing shootouts. Hours of studying goes into working out patterns of penalty takers and keepers, and the decisions made by players and keepers are often based on their research, for example, Cech in Munich.
-
Just seen it again, it appears he was having a go at Caballero because as he was punching the chair and walking towards the tunnel Willy was walking back down with his arms out as in to say "what have I done?".
-
To play devils advocate, 24 year old playing his first major final, adrenaline pumping. I don't condone it but I'm more interested in his reaction to this, if he accepts he did wrong then clean slate, if he maintains he did the right thing then we have problems.
-
I thought our game away to them was arguably our best display of that season (not saying much i know), we wasted golden chances to seal the win inside 20 minutes.
-
Difference between us and Arsenal is they actually get smashed when the world expect them too, we have an uncanny nack of doing the opposite. Last time we lost a final we were obvious underdogs for was Cardiff 2002.

I can (and have) accepted not perfect, but i can't accept the meak capiluations of late, it's relegation form. I do actually like what Sarri is trying to do system wise (i particularly like how comfortable we are playing out from the back for the most part even against the elite, my one criticism of Jose and Conte even when it was all gardens and flowers was how we struggled against intelligent pressing), but so many things are going against him now (some his doing others not).
-
So do i and i genuinely thought he was doing a good job upto last month but the last month has been beyond bad and can't be ignored.
-
It's vital we carry on with what we started appointing Sarri and keep transitioning to the new style. For all the talk of it going wrong with AVB because we tried to change the style, we actually carried on the process after him for a further two years and it was only because Mourinho suddenly decided he wanted a fast track title we stopped.
-
I honestly don't know. If i had to guess he will have a similar ethos to the coaches at reserve/level and play progressively (given he was one of them himself at one point). Also if it helps IIRC AVB said he promoted him initially because he shared a similar attacking mindset.
-
Fairly certain we can resign players. If rumours are to believed we will have Steve Holland in charge this time next week.
-
Could turn out to be a good thing because the appeal will give us the summer to buy players which will likely mean more urgency in the deals.
-
Of all the pundits to finally think outside the box and realise why Kante is playing further up its Robbie Savage.
-
Is it me or do Odoi and Willian have good chemistry playing together?
-
Upto last month i would have agreed, i actually felt we were progressing the style quietly well, but the recent capilualations are inexhaustible.
-
We could have been relegated this season and it still wouldn't exonerate Conte for that shitshow 6 months (FA Cup run aside).
-
I think the general plan was/is to keep him till the end to try and change his mind. A month ago i feel it was almost certain Sarri was getting a second seasons and there was a general acceptance this transition wasn't easy, i think the capilualations Arsenal and beyond has caused a rethink all round (board and which fans were still behind him).
-
I read a theory on Reddit that we are doing what United did and waiting for the big games to clear then will sack him to give the new man/interim an nice looking schedule to build new momentum.
-
Unpopular opinion alert. I think he's class but being used completely wrong. Should Sarri leave i would actually sign him on a perm for DM.
-
Not sure about the vacancy's he will have if hypothetically he comes, i imagine Jody will follow alongside Shay Given, Zola will probably stay in the Steve Holland role until he has a better offer. I may be in the minority but i wouldn't want any of the old guard to come in as a number 2 to Frank, would be too unbalanced for me.

The confusing thing is at every other level we are practically flawless, we dominate youth level and the women's game in a way that makes the Greek league look competitive so why can't we translate that to the mens first team? Those teams are all managed by through and through Chelsea people, so maybe the next move is to try similar at first team level? Be it Lamps or the traditional boot room.
-
Did he? I'd be very surprised if it's true and all his advisors would have strongly recommended against it. At that time Mourinho was like god here and 99% of fans were effectively grieving his departure.
-
Mourinho's (first) departure would have trumped both had we had a home game immediately after.
