Ferguson Retires - Moyes takes over
Bir_CFC replied to The only place to be's topic in Football Chat
I guarantee you Moyes will get fired due to poor results and Fergie will return from retirement mid-season. We'll see how stable United really are now. Always giving other teams shit for not being stable, fucking hate this club and their fans always acting all high and mighty. -
Rafa's press conference was comforting. He stated the importance of this game which calms my nerves thinking he'll field a strong lineup now. Cech Azpi - Cahill - Terry - Cole Mikel - Lamps Moses - Hazard - Oscar Ba Luiz and Rami def need some rest. Mata was the guy who played the most against Spurs so he gets a rest too, just wish we could get Azpi some rest too. Would love it if we can get a strong lead by half time and rest Azpi too.
-
No he wasn't, watch the replay again. The angle from behind the goal is deceiving because it looks like the shot could have been saved but from the side angle you can actually see just how high Adebayor got that shot to curl from, not a chance for Cech. It was a wonder finish.
-
I don't think going for goal is a bad decision, yeah someone could have got a tap in but not like he took on a difficult shot, it was a sitter. Just rushed it, got off balance and skied it.
-
You have source for the Fergie comment, curious to read it.
-
Thought he was great in the first half, but had a shocking second half, shoulda been subbed for Ba.
-
It was disappointing conceding the 2nd goal but it was coming. Ramires and Luiz were absolutely shattered in the last 25 mins.
-
Dude was beasting, too bad about the injury. Gotta improve his finishing though and he'll be unanimous best player in the league next year imo.
-
Calling an Ashley Cole blinder tonight. He's taken days off today but we know what he's capable of when on top.
-
Nice early goal please, I won't be able to explain shitting my pants at work.
-
Fuck, I don't want Torres starting. It's always a lottery with him, he does some things better than Ba but more often than not he chokes at the actual goal scoring. Whereas Ba is more of a goal threat, but not as much of a threat as Torres in the build-up. Also would have felt safer with Luiz at CB, but getting a wonder goal from the midfield is always on the cards.

You're right that Mou loves a rivalry but more than that he loves winning trophies. I don't see another top team in a top league that he can go to and win trophies. No Fergie makes EPL the easiest of the lot but still challenging enough as opposed to Ligue 1 with PSG. Best of both worlds.

Shorter Cavani but with better passing. Me likey. However, he has a monster of our contract. He'll be worth the transfer fee but that contract would make him the higest paid Chelsea player, not ok with that.

Ferguson Retires - Moyes takes over

Moyes is a good shout but would United really want a manager who hasn't won anything or ever had objectives similar to that of a club like United. Surely, they would want someone with big game experience especially in Europe. I don't think it'll be Mourinho, just doesn't seem like he'd fit in at United. Whoever it is, I'm sure it's already wrapped up. That said, I can see him returning mid season after United go on a loosing streak with their new manager. -
He's still raw if that's what you mean, and everyone will agree with that, he's nowhere near the finished article but to say that he hasn't improved this season doesn't make sense to me.
-
Spurs know what they need to do and we know what we need to do. We're at home and have a better squad. On form, focused and at home, I can't see how we lose, worst case scenario is that we draw.
-
I think he will be ok here because our team doesn't have anyone with a combative personality that will fight with Mou. The only ones that may (Lamps & Terry) already love him, so that will make the transition even easier. I don't see any of the new players argue with Mou, partly because they are all a little too young to actually feel they would know any better than Mou. I think he will be respected and trusted from day one which for some reason he never was at Real.
-
Does anyone have a transcript of Jose's press conference from earlier today? I read some quotes on twitter and it came off like the GOAT press conference. Funniest was him talking about Iniesta LOL!
-
Rooney gets punked like a bitch quite often against us. Luiz, Hazard, Ramires all of em have made em look like a bitch.

If he wants to be a top club I don't think he'll ever be a regular starter. Even for us, he'll be an impact sub or Real or United. His overall game just isn't good enough to warrant a regular starting place especially for teams playing with a lone striker.
-
Maybe it's just me but I think Cavani will end up at Real. Real have superstars all over the pitch but it seems like their strikers always let em down in the big games and I think they'll break the bank and go for Cavani. I think they'll go for a top striker for sure and I feel it's going to be Cavani. Doubt Atletico will sell Falcao to Real and I feel Lewa isn't on Cavani/Falcao level.
-
Thanks! I was hoping one of these would turn up. It was one his best "dribbling" performance from this season.
-
You really think just one more season with Southampton and Shaw is ready to be first choice for us? He's a great talent but I don't think he's that good yet. I'd say defensively Bertrand is still ahead of him. He might close the gap to Bertrand in a year but I still don't think he'll be good enough to be someone you could trust in a pivotal champions league match.

The only problem with buying Luke is that what do you do with him & Bert? Cole is here next season and it'll be his last, so the season after we'll have Luke, Bert and PVA. All decent but none good enough to be considered first choice imo. If we buy Luke and wait for him to be good enough for first choice then we'll need a decent stop gap for a couple years before Luke is ready. Instead of buying Luke and a stop-gap, don't buy either and buy Coentrao.
