And on top against Cech... Loved it!
-
I'll be there! I heard every ticket sold and if everyone shows up I think it'll set a record for the largest attendance at a football match in USA.
-
I can't recall the last time our defence looked this good. I couldn't care less we were shit at attacking, that will come with time. But that defensive shape and organization was amazing! We looked like a completely different side than just the last friendly. Liverpool didn't get a sniff at our goal. In this kind of system, it'd be easy to hide Cahill and Terry's weakness and even Cesc because on defense our central areas are littered with blue shirts. Every time we didn't have the ball Traore dropped back right next to Cesc. I am very very happy and super excited now. We will be a very hard team to beat. Once the formation and shape is learned, I'm sure attacking sets and transitions will improve in time. Reminiscent of the good old boring boring Chelsea. I'll take it alllllll day! Be patient better attacking will come soon enough, especially cause whenever we did attack we attacked with numbers so it's not like we just wanted to park the bus.

No its not. Peak Henry was a top 5 player in the world. Higuain barely cracks top 50. Sure, there should be a premium if buying from a rival, but this is too much.
-
I thought Matic looked great in the first match. Got tired really quickly though. And he's pretty good on offence too, not sure why people keep saying he's shit. Think his best position is actually box-to-box instead of a holding midfielder. I think the midfield 2 is definitely going to be Matic-Kante, both are relatively dynamic, can win the ball and run with it. I think Cesc has to be in the team so I think eventually we may end up back at a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 with a midfield of Matic, Kante and Cesc.
-
Cesc will be the biggest challenge for Conte. You kinda have to have Cesc in the starting lineup otherwise I'm not sure how you're creating chances. But how are you going to fit him into a 2-man midfield?
-
He's good at tracking back but he's horrible as a 1 on 1 defender, he'd get destroyed at RB even by pub teams.
-
Matic is definitely a lot more dynamic than what he has shown so far with us. In the double pivot, partnered with Cesc he just can't afford to go forward. But if we play a 3 man midfield, he can join the attack. He's very very good with ball at his feet and can make excellent runs through the heart of the midfield. He has shown glimpses of this when he was paired with Mikel and had the license to go forward for the few games. A midfield 3 of Matic, Radja and Cesc is very good. Just one flaw, maybe not enough goals there assuming Cesc plays deeper. If Cesc will be a 10, then he can probably get a decent chunk of goals but then the build-up from the deep will suffer. Cesc's role is up to Conte, but as far as the personnel goes, I think the midfield is getting there. CB next, please.

Any credible news on him yet? I really hope it's not as bad as it looked, doesn't deserve it.
-
There could be a ban like this after every match if this is a precedent FA wants to set. Players throw elbows and shove people around all the time and get no reds.
-
This video of him vs PSG makes him look fucking amazing. I'll never understand why fans get pissed at a new signing. Dude is a Chelsea player and has done nothing to deserve anything but support. If you're pissed, go cuss out the board but it's downright disrespectful to aim any displeasure at a new signing. I really don't understand it. First thing that came to my mind when I heard we bought him was excitement. Just cause you haven't heard of him doesn't mean he's no good. Or someone who can't help the team. There are tons and tons of players in world football that can do a job for Chelsea, so to write someone off just cause you haven't heard of them is ignorant to say the least.
-
Is it really with an option to buy? Can someone confirm this with a reputable source? I find this hard to believe.
-
Bought just to make the numbers I'm guessing. That said, what's wrong with recalling one of the loaned players to do this? Guess because they don't want to stall development by leaving them on the bench the entire season. If you can't position yourself properly and play team defense, the next best thing is to be a physical beast, so he won't be completely useless.
-
He will thrive in City's system. Ridiculously strong attacking team now. And both Sterling and KDB are young still.
-
Seriously, Giroud has flaws, but his hold-up and link up play is probably best in the world. Lukaku is a polar opposite striker. Bad hold-up and linkup play, but great running in behind and at finishing.
-
I don't think CB is highest priority anyways. If Baba can show his worth and become a starter, we'll have 6 defenders which is what we had last year. We can go back in for Stones next year when JT truly needs to be replaced.
-
This dude the real deal. He is amazing. Wow I didn't even know Chelsea scouted the super league. Very happy! I'm guessing he didn't cost much either. What a steal! Funny nickname aside, dude is a monster. I have no doubts he'll get even better playing with better players. Dude doesn't even try and dominates the super league. He won't get a work permit but we should try to find a workaround. Wow, very excited! Edit - nvm, never seen this dude play. Thought we were talking about Sergio Ramos.
-
I don't think his development is surprising at all. Dude was always a monster of a player. Thats why many were so excited when he finally joined us. Tbh his is more a case of having the platform to showcase his skills than actually developing into a good player. He was always top class as a playmaker.
-
If City keep steamrolling teams, he can afford to be shit starting out.
-
Running a lot doesn't mean you're good defensively. Cesc ran the most out of all our players last season in the league, guess he's also good defensively? Good work rate but that doesn't equate to intelligent defending.
-
Seems pretty stupid to me. Just to troll one dude, you go and change every thread title. Haha I guess.
-
What is up with changing the thread title? Looks weird. What was wrong with just leaving it as Eden Hazard?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-close-wembley-deal-3-6299699 Saw this on WAGHN: The shits from Spurs they asked polite If we use Wembley, is that alright? But they got trolled by Abramovich And now it is, the backup Bridge We hate Tottenham…..
-
Liverpool have looked very very good, Cech is single handedly keeping Arsenal in this. Unreal performance so far.
-
Can't believe Benteke didn't score there, should have shot harder. Still though, unreal save from Cech.
