  1. I suppose I look out for Luton every now and again, being that they are my closest league team, but not really. Like to see Sunderland do alright, one of my best mates from school supported them and they're not an offensive team. All about the Chelsea though really
  2. No what I mean is, how does the surrounding area cope? When people pile out of the stadium, the area gets clogged, the underground is like sardines, driving out is a nightmare. Decades ago, how did the area cope with much larger attendances... or did it just not cope at all?
  3. Just a wiki entry though. Someone has probably assumed the inevitable that we will sign him so felt it was safe to say we already had him. I can't see where there might be a hitch, he seems to be interested, we're interested, and he has European citizenship.
  4. Question to the wise and mature members of this site: were the attendances higher than now in the days of terraces and cheap ticket prices? If so, how on Earth did the area cope with even more people, and do you think then maybe the area could cope after all with a higher stadium capacity? Thanks!
  5. The main problem with expanding the current site is not so much the buildings, railway and graveyard that surround the Bridge, but the fact that even more people will be coming. Our plans will have to include some way of dealing with this, and I can't think for the life of me what that'd be.
  6. He's the same kind of player as Eidur, but nowhere near as good of course.
  7. Well it's rare that our players reactions are unjustified. I think we have a bad referee problem.
  8. So he'll be a complete cunt then?
  9. Sorry CM, gonna have to move this one to Football Talk. By all means a worthy discussion, but doesn't belong here! Newcastle know what they want, but not that they can't have it... yet anyway. What they need is a good manager and to stick with him, maybe that's Houllier, but I don't think he'd take the job. I think they are going to end up with Shearer, and the sooner they get him and the fewer other managers they look at first the better.
  10. We've already had this topic, and both belong in the Ronaldinho thread, naturally! Moving. Come on guys, you were doing so well before!
  11. Think Grant is more alike to the Vogons myself It's the expression as much as anything
  12. Haha yeah I suppose. I'm not actually so sure Grant wouldn't have played Shauny up front had we not signed Anelka... I'd have played Sahar anyway, not that it would have done us or Sahar any good, but it would have been the only viable option in my eyes.
  13. Just think, if we hadn't signed Anelka we'd be playing Sahar against Birmingham...
  14. I don't know why everyone is assuming the Carling Cup is as good as won. First we have to make sure we don't let a lead slip against Everton, then we have to beat Arsenal who we know are no pushover, even their youth team. Not an easy task at all.
  15. How many millions of times do we have to point out to people that Diarra wanted to leave and he wasn't shoved out, but let out?
  16. I know, but we could get by with a 2 man midfield in a 4-4-2, and we'll be getting players back soon anyway. If it wasn't for the African Nations, Sidwell again wouldn't be even on the bench.
  17. So do we, technically. I'm sure our White Kit is classed as our "European Kit".
  18. Nothing has actually been said, but seeing as we know that SWP can play in midfield well too now, we can let him go. We don't need him.
  19. I'm pretty sure that's illegal, surprised we haven't tried it anyway though.
  20. I think he's referring to the Heysel incident.
