I thought Hazard did well away at Juventus when he played as a striker. He held the ball up well and looked dangerous especially on the counter. We just didn't have the midfield to compete that night and were beaten rather easily but he should have been given more minutes in that position this season. Mata won't work in that position because he's too slow and weak. Hazard is much better suited for it because he's quick, is very hard to dispossess when in possession and will hold the ball up.
He didn't play particularly well but then he's not left winger. It's not his fault he's being played out of position. I am desperate to see him in central midfield.
No. All transfer deals broke down because those clubs couldn't afford to pay him what he currently earns. Why should he take a pay-cut? You wouldn't leave millions on the table so why should he? Why do we judge footballers to standards we wouldn't apply to ourselves? Malouda made the right choice for him and his family.
You think he gives a shit about that? What's the alternative? Go play for a poor team where you will have to stay fit and perform? Why give up coasting at Chelsea for that sort of pressure? Marin is here to stay until his contract has run out. Oh and Malouda isn't a money grabber. Chelsea weren't forced to give him the contract they did. He has every right to see out his contract. He was a very good player for us and has done more for this club than Marin can ever dream of doing.
Why would he want to leave? He gets paid a good salary, lives in a great city and plays for a team with a squad so small that no matter how bad he is he will get games. Oh and he will get some medals every now and again. He's living the life.
He was quality yesterday and bossed the midfield. Athletic, strong, good passing range and is tactically clever because Martinez demands a lot from his players. Chelsea material? I don't know but he is very talented.
This was more of a consolation prize for a long, hard season. A cup is a cup. I'm sure Hazard wanted a day out in Amsterdam like all the others*. *Except maybe Mikel who hates this competition
Indeed. It's just that he has played so many games he has lot the energy he did at the start of the season. Look at the first bit of action from his debut against Wigan in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbyo3XEKe7Y He has very good pace.
Was very, very poor today. One of his worst performances for the club. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt though having been a long, hard season and his numbers are fantastic.
I'm more relieved than anything because a) he's done it and b ) the goal(s) today meant something in the context of the game and our season and wasn't the 5th goal in a rout.
