  1. If you don't love Oscar you don't love life in my very honest opinion Nice article. I remember that performance against Sunderland he did really well. I think he played there against Leeds away and put in another good performance. That's why I regard this season as a wasted year in some respects. He should have been given more minutes in that role to help his development for what should be his position in the long-term. But because of a thin squad and a manager in love with his 4-2-3-1 he never really got the chance. I just hope and pray Mourinho uses him well.
  2. I'm wrong more often than not so it's all good But look at these two videos mate: http://vimeo.com/63505712 He needs to play deeper than Hazard, Mata, Coutinho and other players like that.
  3. What does cross accuracy actually mean? If Moses delivers a great ball and Torres is busy standing still inside the box and it's cleared by the defender does that go down as an inaccurate cross?
  4. Sounds like you've misunderstood what sort of player Oscar currently is and can be in the future. He has been misused by Benitez* and has suffered as a result. Oscar is a central-midfielder with attacking qualities. He is the closest thing we will ever get to finding a Lampard replacement. He can pass, he can tackle, he can press, he can shoot and he can create (although he needs to work on his final ball). He is not a #10 in the traditional sense and should not be expected to do the things Hazard, Mata and co can do in the final third. It's no surprise that Oscar's best form of the season was under RDM when he played through the middle and dropped into midfield to help build play from deep and join the attack. If you don't remember how good he was under RDM please go find some videos and realise how much potential this kid has. He is a quality, quality young player and can be a world beater. *To be fair to Benitez we have a small squad so playing him out of position was necessary when the only alternatives are Marin, Benayoun and other poor players. A change in formation was an option but he persisted with the 4-2-3-1 all season so Oscar had to play wide right or left, positions that do not suit his game.
  5. I was going to say I didn't remember Hilario being so tall but then he's tiptoeing haha
  6. That much is obvious. Ronaldo is actually a pretty average footballer. His passing is poor and he's not really a possession player, more of a great counter-attacking talent. Great goalscorer but he's an average footballer really.
  7. If he goes to Barcelona he won't be able to express his talent fully.
  8. No thanks. I was sick and tired of his 'bad moment' talk and he couldn't motivate the players. He also wasted 50m on Torres, the worst transfer in football history. That was all him and has been confirmed by Wilkins.
  9. Fair enough, maybe I'm just being a bit myopic. I did find it strange last season the way Piazon was being hyped up by the club, interviews/pres stuff and even winning young player of the year etc when in my opinion there were more deserving candidates like Chalobah and Feruz. It seemed like a concerted effort to heap praise on Piazon rather than it being merited. Perhaps I'm just looking into things too much.
  10. The very good @chelseayouth twitter account made a good point yesterday that foreign kids bought in for transfers fees will get more chances because there is more praise for the scouting department/board members than they would receive for local lads coming through. He may not have said it like that but it's what I took from the comments. Will RLC, Baker, Swift, Kiwomya etc all get the chances Ake and Piazon got? Even Chalobah hasn't made a single appearance for the club and Ake has 6 for the senior team.
  11. Amazing talent. Defensively solid, composed, quick and very strong for his age. He will only get better. I like Bertrand, I think he's a good squad player. But I don't think he's good enough to be first choice for this club. Shaw has that potential.
  12. Better than Oscar? Hmmm. Lets just be happy we have all these talented young players and stop the bickering kids.
  13. I understand what you're saying. Young attacking players perhaps have the more difficult path to the first team compared to defenders or midfielders. RLC and Chalobah's qualities are representative of the positions they play. Boga's passing, tactical awareness and work-rate can be worked on and improved. In fact he's already shown the ability to pick a pass in the final third which is very promising. Players like Boga are very rare. Not many players in football have close control, dribbling and speed. At the highest level those are potentially game changing qualities.
  14. I've heard but until it's signed I won't get my hopes up.
  15. Cech and Courtois both have contracts expiring in 2016. I personally believe 2014-2015 season will be decision time. Courtois will be content with staying at Atleti next season playing Champions League football and securing his place for the World Cup.
  16. Thanks for the videos. His close control, dribbling and speed are all very impressive. These are qualities that will translate into the senior game because he will only get stronger, quicker and even sharper. He's unplayable sometimes at youth level. Hopefully he continues to improve his decision making and learn to use his left foot as well. So much potential, he could be a special player.
  17. You've almost described our club there. We're not easy to manage. Our club is no less chaotic than Madrid. He will get support initially but if we have a bad season, which isn't beyond the realm of possibility, then that can and will probably change.
  18. He doesn't have to leave though. Real Madrid don't like him because he has divided their club.
  19. So why not stay and try to make things right next year? Why run away with your tail between your legs? What happens when we have a bad season? Will he run away too?
  20. What would it say about Mourinho if he walks away now when things are bad? If he's the coach we're led to believe wouldn't he have the professional pride to want to stay and make things right? What does it say about him if he leaves when things are tough?
  21. And people want him to walk back in and give him the freedom of the club to do whatever he wants. You couldn't make it up.
