I think it's fair to say that Isco having a higher ceiling than Mata isn't a wild claim. I think Mata is as good as he'll ever be now and he's pretty damn good. Isco is a very talented young player and could be immense in 2-4 years time.

There was no favouritism involved in Benayoun being picked over Marin. It's well documented he and Benitez never got on. He was simply a better option than Marin and was trusted not to let the team down when given minutes. It tells you everything you need to know about Marin, that a 33 year old physically knackered player like Benayoun, who the club tried to get rid of that season only to be sent back by West Ham no less, was preferred over him. To think some people want to waste another year on Marin is mind-boggling.

What I like most about Oscar is that he works so hard off the ball. Even now, when he has every excuse to take his foot off the gas after a long hard season, he was pressing the Japanese players like his life depended on it. Then you add his quality on the ball and you have a potentially GREAT player if he continues to develop his game.

The only people who think this is a bad deal are those who think it's possible to have three Eden Hazard's on the pitch and another three Eden Hazard's on the bench. They have no idea what having a full squad means nor do they really care. They just want the best players in the world in every position and another 10 of the best players in the world sat on the bench. Unfortunately for the rest of us these people make the most noise so expect another 3 months of how having a German international is such a bad deal and bemoaning the fact we haven't spent 32m on another Hazard to come and sit on the bench.

True. Ramires is a very reliable two way player (defending and attacking) even if his passing is hit and miss. In some games however we would benefit from a more technical build-up and perhaps it would be to go with other players. It is a squad game after all.

Cavani's goal tally would drop without the penalties but then so would Messi and Ronaldo's. Drogba got 37 in the 09/10 season and only one of those goals was a penalty. I would trust Cavani to score 25+ without pens. Besides that since all of our European Cup finals seem to go to penalties another specialist would be great
