Don't you know our squad players have to be ballon d'Or candidates? What we need to do is buy Messi and Ronaldo and then relegate Hazard and Oscar to the bench. That way we'll have the strongest squad like EVER! Do it Roman!
-
Guarin isn't really a playmaker.
-
That wild volley Bertrand tried form near enough the halfway line against Malaysia now makes a lot more sense!
-
We should sign his older brother too so much better than Torres. The wonderful left foot runs in the family.

Best. Goal. Celebration. Ever.

Chelsea TV just said no news yet on KDB's injury/scan.
-
Spoke too soon, he starts in midfield today. Still, long-term future at CB though.
-
Interesting to see that he has played only as a CB on the tour so far. Even with Lampard's injury Ramires played the full 90 in midfield for one. Glad to see Mourinho sees him as a CB because that's where his long-term future lies.

Relief! I can't wait to see Oscar, Mata, KDB and Hazard all on the pitch at the same time. It might not happen often but when it does it will be amazing.

I'm 99.9% sure he signs a contract in September and heads out on loan if he can't get a work permit. If he does get a work permit then hopefully he gets some minutes with the first team, but I think he'll play for the U21 in the League and NextGent series/Uefa U19 Champions League etc. You have to remember he hasn't been allowed to play those competitions for the last 2-3 years. Staying would benefit him just as much as going out on loan.
-
Why pay for a player when you can get him for free? He is allowed to sign a deal with Chelsea when he's 18 even without a work permit. No work permit just means he wouldn't be allowed to play for Chelsea, its youth teams or any other British club, but he can go out on loan until his work permit situation clears up. He is already an international for Burkina Faso, and Mourinho said they have a guarantee from his national team that he'll keep getting called up, so it won't be long until he qualifies for a work permit as a special talent.

I think I have an idea on which Chelsea player is Roman's youngest son's favourite

While Mourinho's comments will be great for Traore I think the trump card is how the club have taken care of him over the last 3 years. Even now, when he isn't officially a Chelsea player, he's out on tour with the team playing games. I have no doubt he stays and signs a deal even if offers come from all the big European clubs.

He has improved in that regard, more so towards the end of last season. He was holding it, bring others into play and making movements that created space for others. He is learning how to do and is already much better at shielding the ball than Torres who is easily dispossessed most of the time. Anyway I just read this and wanted to share: Even when the journos try to get something from him he just bats them away with common sense. This guy just isn't just a good player, he's intelligent and humble.
-
How anyone can think Torres is first choice after Mourinho's comments the other day is mind-boggling.
-
Choulo did go a bit ott but I get what he's saying, especially regarding the 'obvious pass'. To be honest, the pivot options in Malaysia is littered with obvious passers, and it's really Josh that is only one with enough guile to see and want to make different kinds of passes. I've been impressed with MVG's athleticism and defensive contribution, and while his passing hasn't looked particularly good it can and hopefully will improve. To be fair to MVG he has made some good passes into the feet of KDB/Hazard when they've found themselves in good space so he can see the pass and is able to make it. It's just about being more consistent and sharper.

Great video, thanks. Great first touch and technique, keeps it simple (aside from the 50 yard volley! lol) and looks very quick. He did a lot of things right, and for a 17 year old that isn't easy as their game doesn't always translate well to senior football. Now consider that he hasn't been able to play any real football consistently for a number of years and it's mind-blowing. Unbelievable potential.
-
Hazard will play AML unless he's injured or tired. He practically owns the position.
-
De Bruyne's goal broke the forum for several hours.
-
That would be the smartest move as it'd open up an extra foreign space in the squad.

Suarez is mental and needs help. Referees already dislike us and bringing in that scumbag would do us no favours. Can you believe he's never been sent off for Liverpool despite some of the nasty things he has done? Now imagine him doing the same in a blue shirt he'd have been sent off about a dozen times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97C7oA1Sy50 He wasn't sent off for any of that. Now, had he been a Chelsea player... Look at how often he attempts to cause serious pain/injury to his fellow professionals. He is a nasty piece of work.

'He can help the team in another position' is about as flippant a remark he can make about Luiz midfield abilities. It was a qualifying statement to confirm that he will be a CB full-time. "Yeah he can BUT..." Do you know what qualifying a statement means? It's unbelievable that some of you are speaking about my comprehension skills. If you have inferred from that comment that Luiz will play in midfield again, or that he is even a serious option, then you have misunderstood completely what Mourinho is saying. Read it again, without the qualifying statement since that seems to be giving some of you trouble, and let it sink in: "For me, Luiz is a central defender...no doubt about it"
-
Thank fuck! Hope all you guys who think Luiz is a midfielder will stop talking now. He was an awful midfielder and a borderline liability at times. Benitez was clueless.
