  1. I just don't like the idea of signing a player at that age who isn't performing at his best and then hoping he turns it around at our place. Torres is the perfect example. And before people throw stats at me suggesting Fabregas is performing, Shevchenko came here off the back of scoring nearly 30 goals and was a disaster. Spend big money on the Hazard's of this world. Proven young talent with potential to get even better.
  2. I'm quite taken aback by just how many don't rate him and the flaws they cite. This post in particular is worrying: That sounds like Ramires!
  3. There's a very interesting Fabregas thread on a Barcelona forum I just found. It seems like an awful lot of them don't rate him and can't wait until he leaves. http://www.barcaforum.com/showthread.php/10067-4-Cesc-Fabregas That's the whole thread since he signed for them so you obviously don't need to read the whole thing!
  4. The Bolton goals go without saying really. Great goal, albeit a penalty, for everything it meant to him, his family and the club in what was a European Cup semifinal. I remember Ballack offered to take it but Lampard was having none of it. He has scored so many goals that limiting it to just 3 doesn't seem right. Top 15-20 makes more sense.
  5. Can't wait to watch him at the World Cup.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsaIPBOsrZ0 Old man celebration again
  7. That's an interesting new angle for the Twatter trolls; pretending to be related to the club doctor. There really are some sad people in this world.
  8. Liverpool fans went apeshit when we bought Torres...
  9. That miss was clearly Chelsea's fault. With all the instability he's had to endure over the last 3 years how could he possibly have scored? All those broken promises and lack of support, there's absolutely no way he could have taken that chance. Keep your head up Torres!
  10. Well how many of those players could do this He'd be a decent option if the others aren't available
  11. I'm just grateful that we're signing a LB and Azpi will hopefully be playing at RB. It could be Luis, Shaw, Rodriguez, Moreno or whoever and it makes very little difference.
  12. Every time he speaks candidly about his Chelsea career he reveals just how awful a person he truly is. The guy is an absolute clown.
  13. So why is our midfield so shit in that case? Why are we being linked with a 33 year old Tiago?
  14. Is Chalobah really that good? I still think of him as a CB, and from what I've seen Baker/Swift/RLC are more promising midfielders.
  15. Because Man City are going through the phase that many rich clubs go through. Why bother scouting for solutions or giving young players a chance when you can just go for the obvious name and throw money at him?
  16. Good point. Interesting debate we have here. Glad to see TalkChelsea back on form.
  17. I noticed Chambers when he played against us at their place, he looked very promising.
  18. I wouldn't complain if it was simply because last year's transition never actually happened. If our style of play improves and we are competitive then I would be very happy.
  19. All valid points. I think it'll come down to Southampton having a good academy and being able to produce their own players. I just can't see them replacing their 18 year old LB with a 25 year old player on a Chelsea salary.
  20. You have to bear in mind the contracts Bertrand, Moses, Marin etc are on. Southampton most probably wouldn't want to pay what Chelsea do so it's not as easy as 25m + this player.
  21. I'd pay 50m for Shaw if it meant Azpilicueta is free to play RB. I don't think I can handle another year of Ivanovic at fullback.
