  1. That says far more about us as supporters than it does about Cech's standing. Pre-Roman, youth team player etc are just romantic narratives. What Cech has done in a Chelsea shirt is more than enough to give him an equal standing with anybody in this club's history.
  2. I'm sure I'll be disappointed when I see him in a Man City shirt but until then it makes sense. He needs to keep his fitness up until the MLS starts, we've moved on so he is well within his rights to find the best possible situation for himself.
  3. There is absolutely no difference. Terry and Lampard are no bigger Chelsea legends than Cech or Drogba. Both West Ham actually...
  4. What?! Of course he is. The best keeper in the clubs history, broke all kinds of records and is an absolute gent. He nearly died playing for this club. Nowhere near? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  5. Going to City doesn't diminish what he did here and we have no real rivalry with City. Lampard is 36 years old; how good is he at this point? Not very. Good luck to him. Really couldn't care less. Watching a prime Cech play for another club will be far more upsetting than this.
  6. Honestly, I'm not bothered at all. Not even a little bit. Strange.
  7. Starting to believe with the players available that 4-3-3 is the way to go. Fabregas would be the more attacking midfielder and would have the protection of Matic/Ramires/Mikel/MVG etc.
  8. Yep, thankfully we have a manager who knows as much and won't dare try that pivot against anybody good. Even against the lesser sides I'm wary. Lampard was a much better defender than Fabregas so could play there. My prediction is Fabregas is going to be the Mata of the CM: undoubted quality on the ball but too slow and defensively weak. He'll need two CMs behind him. I believe that Matic + Ramires will be the pivot; I still haven't forgotten Mourinho's comments earlier in the summer.
  9. Fabregas for me. If Mourinho sticks to the 4-2-3-1 the way I see it is: Willian/Salah - Fabregas/Oscar - Hazard/Schurrle. The 'Fabregas in the pivot' idea won't last very long in my opinion.
  10. Thought he looked a little bit like Mata yesterday, very slow and weak off the ball.
  11. Let's not go ott, guys. We sold players we bought for a lot of money for, er, a bit more money!
  12. Cahill's use of the ball is incredibly frustrating.
  13. Well done Costa, unselfish play. I'm starting to believe we finally have a striker. Vitesse playing OK.
  14. Score against us?! Zouma won't let that happen.
  15. There isn't enough Torres gifs to save us then!
  16. I agree, Torres was huge mistake but we can't get rid of him. Lukaku's potential is overrated however, sure he can get better, but I personally believe he is already operating at a level not far from his maximum. How much better can he really get? His touch, control and technique don't have much scope for improvement.
  17. He looked so nervous taking that penalty, and his general performance in that game was woeful. I'm convinced once he said he wanted to go out on loan last season Mourinho didn't try to stop him.
  18. Don't be. We have lost far better players who actually did stuff in a Chelsea shirt. My abiding memory of Lukaku will be watching him fail to control the ball in the World Cup.
  19. I would be amazed if both Cech and Courtois are still Chelsea players in September.
  20. If that doesn't convince Jose to buy a striker I don't know what will.
  21. While I have been criticial of our style of play in the past that won't wash as an excuse for Torres. He is rubbish.
  22. Just thought I'd post that to lighten the mood.
  23. Drogba as a third option really isn't that bad. The real problem is Torres.
