Been an up and down few years, with some exceptional highs. 120 minutes and smashing in that penalty in Munich on a dodgy leg will never be forgotten. I really do hope he sorts his faults out whilst playing for Paris, he's still potentially an unbelievable defender and he'll win a hell of a lot over in Paris. Good luck, Geezer.

Yep, agree about the Shaw opinion. Doesn't look likely now though. Maybe theres something in the John Stones rumour. Definitely something the club need to think about. Need to start finding big talents who meet the home grown rules like Barkley, Shaw, Pogba, but also need to start taking gambles on players like Stones when he was at Barnsley for a couple of million in the same way Everton have done if we're going to meet these quotas in years to come. Until then, Bertrand and Moses probably need to stay.

Think you're missing my point. Can't just fill up our squad with whoever we want and although Moses and Bertrand may not be the best players in the world, they're not the worst and they give us a bigger and stronger squad. As for JT, you can't rule him out for being 33. He was the best centre half in the league last season and it wouldn't surprise me if he is again next year.

Get that completely, BUT, if Chelsea rely on these guys to complete our squad then we shouldn't feel pressured into selling them. Realistically, we have 3 LBs in van Aanholt, Cole, and Bertrand that could qualify as HG, so i'd imagine the club would want one of them to stay. Anyone know if Salah and van Ginkel qualify as U21s for next season? Salah turns 22 in June 2015, MVG turns 22 this December.

Do the players want to stay? Well, if they don't, it's there fault for signing long-term deals. If the clubs want or need them, which in my eyes we do, then they don't have a choice. Surely Lukaku qualifies as an U21 but not a HG. Thought you had to play in the country for 4/5 years first?

I see Moses staying as a homegrown player. Won't have many left otherwise. Unless we can get a decent fee, matching what we paid for him, I think he'll stay. Same applies with Bertrand.

Its something like if you agree to pay the release clause of the player, you agree to pay an extra 30(ish?)% fee in taxes. If you pay a pound under that clause, you pay jack shit. So in this case, you'd be looking at another £10m. Its very very rare that release clauses are met.

Tiago is irrelevant as hes out of contract with Atletico. If the buyout clause has been met and the medical showed up fine, the only hold up will be us announcing it.
