I definitely get what you mean. But I have a feeling these players are crying out for something radically different and refreshing. That type of approach I think would do wonders and I think it's what they want. The only worry I think would be if players who regular start now don't start with the new manager.

I have been keeping up with this topic, and seen a lot of really good posts on why this has happened and where to go from here. In saying that, I am really trying to educate myself on this, but having a little trouble piecing everything together. Different posts have given different views and only parts of it. I know that each person's opinion is different and a little biased, but just wondering how everyone sees it. I have been told by friends that ISIS members started from people who al-Queda did not want because they were too extreme for them. Also friends have told me a big cause of it was that we (the US) pulled too many troops out early (they blamed this on Obama). Now truthfully this friend is a Republican, meaning they are probably biased with it comes to it. I figured it would be best to split this in to two parts. The how it happened and where to go. 1) So can someone or even a few people go through how/why ISIS came to be? How, if any, was Al-Queda related? How did the USA or any other countries invading Iraq and other areas impact it? Also, how has it gotten this far? 2) How do you think we can go from here? I don't think bombing them until everyone is dead will work, so where to go? And why doesn't bombing work that well? By the way, I am in no way one of those naive Americans that feels entitled to everything, and think that the US is the best in everything. It is super obvious we are not. So you can feel free to be honest/harsh on your assessment of the US.

Would be awesome to see this. Every time I see his page on here is recently posted in, I just beg for it to be some kind of news that he is going to get some first team action. But sadly, my hopes always get crushed. We can't waste this kind of talent.
-
I would also like to know where was the info from in the first place that said he was being interviewed by Chelsea TV to clear things up?
-
I get what you mean, but the last part of the sentence can go either way. If the majority of match going fans are singing his name, that doesn't mean they are thinking and analyzing for themselves. In fact, it could be quite the opposite. These fans could be singing his name just because those around in the stadium are. That's just as easy, if not more easy than people developing stance based on journalists. Either way though, it's very obvious that there is way too many well thought out and explanatory posts in the thread on why people want him gone to say there is not a lot of us thinking on our own. You can't generalize the match going fans opinions to all Chelsea fans.
-
Really hoping we sack him as soon as possible. Tim Sherwood is available, but with his ability, he won't be for long. Need to act quickly
-
What does having gone to the Bridge have anything to do with it?
-
I don't mean this rudely at all, but what does you being a season ticket holder for 13 years have anything to do with it?
-
This. I came here to say about the same thing. He was sublime at times tonight and during those spells, were really really good and dangerous. He was heavily involved in all our moves that remember (particularly the first half). He's not near his best, but was still so influential tonight. Like you said, it is worrying how we looked when the play didn't run through him.

What??? This is what I don't get. First off yes I am a Chelsea fan, that has nothing to do with this. I am looking at the ball and the line and it is clearly not over it. How is this even a question?_____________________ Side note (not directly aimed at you): I don't post that often, but am on here most days. And I tired of seeing so many people question if someone is a fan or not. You have no right to question that. Just because someone does not agree with you doesn't mean they aren't a fan. Just because they don't follow your exact "fan rules/law" and defend everything the manager, players, or club does, does not mean you're not a fan. Just because someone has never been to a game, whether that is by choice or they haven't been able to, doesn't make them any less of a fan. Just because you are from a certain country, does not mean you're not a fan or less of a fan. Just because you became a fan of the club because of a certain player, doesn't make you any less of a fan. It does not matter why you became a fan, even if you did it because of the success we have had recently. It doesn't matter if you're the type of fan that goes to games and watches, but doesn't do any chants or singing. Some people just don't like to be loud when they watch games. None of that matters. Everybody has a different way of being a fan. It doesn't matter how you became a fan of this great club, what matters is we're all fans. We have different opinions and views, and different stories of how we became fans. None of it makes any fan better than another. Just supporting and wanting what is best for the club we love.

So since the right call (no goal) was made, just because from first glance it looked like it was in, we should have scored? I don't get that. It didn't go in, so no, it should not be a goal.
-
In all seriousness, that's not a yellow. It's a careless foul. Doesn't warrant a yellow. Had defenders right behind him, so it didn't exactly stop a dangerous attack. It's just a foul. You can have a foul without a yellow. Obviously he shouldn't have made that tackle but that doesn't make it a yellow

But if Iva was fit, would you start him over baba?
-
Ironic that you come to his thread, post when nobody has in 2 days, then say you don't know why people keep talking about him... But to respond to your post, just because he isn't a Chelsea player doesn't mean people can't discuss him.
-
anybody have or can find a non-flash stream??
-
Still think he's the one on the wing? That's why you wait until you see how the team actually lines up on the field instead of what sky or whatever says
-
Truthfully, it doesn't make sense why we're having this conversation anyways. Maybe for Jose Baba needed to put in an RLC type performance to play, but that's not how it should work. He performed much better than Iva has all season. It's clear as day that teams target him and he has lost all ability to defend. Iva has arguably been the worst player in the entire EPL this season. Clearly our weakest link. I get that it was against a weaker opposition, but still, Baba performed much better. He's in better form, he should play. It's simple for me. It's not just that we all know he has more potential with our team and will be better in the future for us, he's better for our team right now as well.
-
Iva used to be a big game player. The game against proved otherwise
-
Yea I agree with what you mean but at the end of the day, I can't complain about it because as close as it was, it ended up being the right call I thought.
-
Am I the only one that thought he was offside? I only saw the replay once where they froze it and drew the line and I thought it showed him being off. Yes, on the replay, the line made him look right in line with the defender, but his head was much further forward than his feet and the line showed where his feet were. It is not just feet that count. It is any body part that can be used to play the ball. So your arms don't count but your head and torso do. Like you said earlier, the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacker if they are perfectly even, but in the end, I unfortunately think he made the right call.
-
Yes he does have time on his side, but I wasn't speaking just about his performance in this game (I actually didn't watch it). I just have not seen anything at all to suggest he could get close to making it here. I don't see anything special in his play and ability. Looks like one of those that can do decently well in youth, but his game won't translate to quality in the first team. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I just don't see anything.
-
For me it's because he's always been overrated. Don't think he is good at all
-
Ah yes, it is on Sunday. Corrected it.

As a referee, when choosing to give a red card for Denying of an Obvious Goal-Scoring Opportunity, it is required to meet 4 categories. These are called the "Four D's". Distance to the Goal- Is it at the halfway line or close to the goal. Distance to the Ball- How close is the attacking player to the ball. Direction of Play- What way/direction is the ball going Defenders- Is he the second to last or last defender (a goalie counts as a defender here) When this happened on Saturday, I immediately told my family that it wasn't a red card and they laughed like crazy. But I explained it and then they shut up. They ref as well, so they understood. The foul clearly meets 3 of the D's, but to me, it does not meet the direction of play category. He took a big touch straight to the side directly away from the goal. Now this point in arguable, because you could say he would have gotten the ball and shot it from there no matter what direction the ball is going, but that's a difficult one. So as I told my family after it happened, I think he will get it rescinded and play this Sunday. If he gets it rescinded, the most frustrating part is that we had to play a man down for most of the second half. I don't think we deserved to be a man down at all.
-
In all seriousness, they need to tell us if he's going to play this Saturday. I got fantasy leagues to win and need to know if I have to drop him.
