Fuck off with the Lampard and Torres bashing. Gets on my tits when we've just had a genuinely commanding performance in a long, long time and all you lot want to talk about is individual players and their perceived shittyness. Fuck's sake.
Let's judge Torres once he has others around him who will bother giving a shit. He's been working alone so far this season so let's see if Mata and Sturridge give him the much needed support. Given how he has talked up bothof them I think we can assume they've been working on doing just that. If he gets support and still fails to deliver, then by all means we should ask for heads to roll.
Defend? Really? Acknowledging his contributions is 'defending' him? You might have expected all replies to your thread to be full of City and Cook bashing, sorry to disappoint you. Re Mrs Onuoha, I obviously wish her a full and complete recovery, but in my mind the timing of her revelation is interesting in light of her son's well known troubles at City.
He's done well for City imo. Been one of the central figures in their transformation into genuine domestic contenders. Think he's got done for lying about the email, not for the email itself. What a stupid move it was to claim his mail was hacked by a City employee. Also, I find the timing of this very opportunistic from Mrs Onuoha's perspective. This took place a good 8-10 months ago and was only brought up once Nedum Onuoha's deadline transfer to Everton on loan fell through because of wage issues. Add to the fact that City were pissed about Onuoha's association with Kia Joorabchian and it makes you think.
Are you suggesting he doesn't need a ball to play? The problem lies in the fact that we're extremely ponderous on the ball. Centre midfield is where it all happens, or (in our case), doesn't happen.
Bang on. We can have Ronaldo - Hulk - Messi up front and it won't work if they're not fed the ball when it's needed to be. Atm our circulation goes like this - Cech to Terry/Alex to Mikel back to Terry/Alex to Cole to Mikel to Lampard to Cole to Malouda back to Lampard to Ramires to Bosingwa to meaningless cross in the arms of the opposition keeper. I'm fucking bored of the repetitive backward and sideways passing, the absence of clever off-the-ball runs and the general dross we're churning out.
I would have hoped for a club/manager who would make him more disciplined defensively. His attacking threat is well known but at the end of the day a defender's primary role is to be sound at the back and it is this aspect of his play that lets him down even at Reserves level.
