  1. It's been about 28 years since Chelsea avoided going for players just because Man U wanted them too.
  2. I would say Guehi is by far the best option even remotely possible (unless we taken another risk on recently injury prone players like Scalvini)
  3. Maresca has said in the past of the importance of a lefty at CB in his team for balance. I reckon this is because of when Cucu is moving around the LCB is playing on the edge of the back line. With LW/RW cutting inside on their inside foot it could be argued that lefties should play right side and righties play left side in defense but that's probably an whole debate in itself.
  4. Simons and Guehi. Transfer fee should be about same we get for Jackson and Nkunku. With if we insist on Garnacho,a Sacho type deal. Still got some desirable to others deadwood to us to balance the books.
  5. If I were to play Hato at CB it would be as LCB with Cucu inverted. So on the edge of a back 3 essentially. Not yet ready for one of 2 CB's .would expose things he needs to work on. But really he should mostly be just cover for.Cucu for now.
  6. I think we'll either get Garnacho for around 26m upfront with upto 10m in bonuses. Or a Sancho type deal. Not what Man Ure might want but we should play hardball as they need to shift him more than we need to buy him. We can easily walk away and stick with "Evil Saka". I think main reason we looking at Garnacho is because of the good deal they think we can get for him.if that's not the case we'll walk away..
  7. Sanchez is a good keeper prone to brain farts.over the course of a league season it's a bigger problem when we struggling to score.we shouldn't have that problem this season. I wouldn't say we gonna win the league but we do have a chance. I wouldn't keep Jackson for depth.he's had 2 seasons.Ange isn't at Spurs anymore to pad his stats.have full confidence in Pedro and Delap.but even if they did somehow flop Jackson is not the answer.
  8. We should definitely wrap up Simons before any others incase the sums work out we can't sign anymore. Plus the longer we keep Man U sweating then the best deal we should get.(ideally a Sancho repeat)..I'm OK either way with Garnacho..I wouldn't personally go for him but not worried bout him coming, just not before Simons is in the bag!
  9. Why in that pic when he's on the pitch does he look like he's just woke up in the wrong house?
  10. So basically Man U is the Nazis and this transfer window is their Battle of the Bulge.
  11. Signings we've made and linked to indicate a return to Maresca's plan A formation from majority of last season where Gusto looked 3rd tier and Acheampong looked comfortable like a seasoned pro. Is what we'll be using rather than the Plan B that used in CWC where Gusto is good in. Plus Acheampong can play multiple positions and RCB has solid options but still open for him to take over.
  12. When the Arabs took over they probably started thinking how many PL and European cups would be coming their way.yet here they are 1 Milk Cup and arguably the worst run rich football club in the world. No idea how to work round things like FFP etc..or desire to do what it takes to win.
  13. Be great cover for Cucu.which could be crucial, like Yuri was when Ash missed a decent chunk of 09/10. Plus although we switched to more of Maresca's plan B formation during CWC. The signings we've made/been linked with it looks like those are with Marescas plan A formation in mind so in that case Hato could come into play as starting some games even with Cucu, with Hato as the LCB and Colwill as the CB with Acheampong as the RCB/RB hybrid.
  14. de Goey,Zenden,Bruma..and the first Ken Monkou. Now I'm stuck.. Oh yeah Mario Melchiot..his last game (against Leeds at the bridge) was my 1st wife's first and probably last game..he had a good game that day and she certainly was more impressed by him than my little slips of hatred for Leeds.
  15. I'd be happy for him to go there.good lad, good player, not for where we want to be but a solid player for an "also ran" prem staple. And that stonking stadium...might still be a nice home in Cheshire that every Merseyside and Manchester player hasn't already gobbled up...
  16. When it's for games the saving a few hours travel makes some sense.but for a transfer I wouldn't risk getting in the skies for. From someone that spends a yearly average of about 400 hours In the sky.i still wouldn't risk it for a domestic flight in England.
  17. Writing was on the wall at the CWC for George when Nkunku was selected so much ahead of him, then all the transfer activity.it's a shame, sad and no doubts he'll be a success elsewhere.atleast we got alot of talent coming through at his positions so shouldn't devestate us..also with only 2 years left on conteact we don't have much wiggle room. I don't see the links to Garnacho as being the main reason, more the straw that broke the camels back due to other current and future incoming. George is good, will be atleast good, probably more but Acheampong is the Cobham crown jewel that losing him would really piss me off.
  18. Mad to think they'll pay the same fee for broken biscuits Broja that we did for Delap.
  19. I was optimistic till it mentioned a medical..akin to the wife saying I can have some if I can do her latest flat pack purchase in the next hour, knowing very well It'll take me two hours just to work out the diagrams.
  20. I wouldn't want them to buy a club that are among the top in their country, less of a challenge for our players.plus could end up in a conflict if clubs qualify for same European trophy as us.so would be from 2nd group you listed. I'd actually also buy a Scottish club...SPL is (at best) basically 2nd tier in England standard but be a decent physical test and weather sorts out the men from the boys.
  21. Maybe for RCSA..we currently stacked in his position.
  22. I hope by now we've blocked all phone numbers coming out of Italy.atleast until Scalvini shows he's proper recovered from his ACL. I wouldn't want any contact with any of them.
  23. Certain deals it just ain't worth haggling over a couple of mill over and running the risk.Maignan was one,Hato is another. AM types are in by far the biggest talent pool in football so fair enough with them, there's always plenty of alternatives but there simply isn't with Hato.
  24. Benfica will try and buy half of him off the arabs in a years time, at which point they will respond by posting half of him to them.
  25. For him and Sterling i'd be happier with.
