  1. When the Arabs took over they probably started thinking how many PL and European cups would be coming their way.yet here they are 1 Milk Cup and arguably the worst run rich football club in the world. No idea how to work round things like FFP etc..or desire to do what it takes to win.
  2. Be great cover for Cucu.which could be crucial, like Yuri was when Ash missed a decent chunk of 09/10. Plus although we switched to more of Maresca's plan B formation during CWC. The signings we've made/been linked with it looks like those are with Marescas plan A formation in mind so in that case Hato could come into play as starting some games even with Cucu, with Hato as the LCB and Colwill as the CB with Acheampong as the RCB/RB hybrid.
  3. de Goey,Zenden,Bruma..and the first Ken Monkou. Now I'm stuck.. Oh yeah Mario Melchiot..his last game (against Leeds at the bridge) was my 1st wife's first and probably last game..he had a good game that day and she certainly was more impressed by him than my little slips of hatred for Leeds.
  4. I'd be happy for him to go there.good lad, good player, not for where we want to be but a solid player for an "also ran" prem staple. And that stonking stadium...might still be a nice home in Cheshire that every Merseyside and Manchester player hasn't already gobbled up...
  5. When it's for games the saving a few hours travel makes some sense.but for a transfer I wouldn't risk getting in the skies for. From someone that spends a yearly average of about 400 hours In the sky.i still wouldn't risk it for a domestic flight in England.
  6. Writing was on the wall at the CWC for George when Nkunku was selected so much ahead of him, then all the transfer activity.it's a shame, sad and no doubts he'll be a success elsewhere.atleast we got alot of talent coming through at his positions so shouldn't devestate us..also with only 2 years left on conteact we don't have much wiggle room. I don't see the links to Garnacho as being the main reason, more the straw that broke the camels back due to other current and future incoming. George is good, will be atleast good, probably more but Acheampong is the Cobham crown jewel that losing him would really piss me off.
  7. Mad to think they'll pay the same fee for broken biscuits Broja that we did for Delap.
  8. I was optimistic till it mentioned a medical..akin to the wife saying I can have some if I can do her latest flat pack purchase in the next hour, knowing very well It'll take me two hours just to work out the diagrams.
  9. I wouldn't want them to buy a club that are among the top in their country, less of a challenge for our players.plus could end up in a conflict if clubs qualify for same European trophy as us.so would be from 2nd group you listed. I'd actually also buy a Scottish club...SPL is (at best) basically 2nd tier in England standard but be a decent physical test and weather sorts out the men from the boys.
  10. Maybe for RCSA..we currently stacked in his position.
  11. I hope by now we've blocked all phone numbers coming out of Italy.atleast until Scalvini shows he's proper recovered from his ACL. I wouldn't want any contact with any of them.
  12. Certain deals it just ain't worth haggling over a couple of mill over and running the risk.Maignan was one,Hato is another. AM types are in by far the biggest talent pool in football so fair enough with them, there's always plenty of alternatives but there simply isn't with Hato.
  13. Benfica will try and buy half of him off the arabs in a years time, at which point they will respond by posting half of him to them.
  14. For him and Sterling i'd be happier with.
  15. Like most i like KDH but he doesnt have a position in the 2 formations Maresca uses that there aren't multiple better options at.thats not an insult to him there's just alot of talent at his positions.the rare minutes he would get or starts in cup games against lower level teams can easily be covered by our youth.Walsh,Rabbaj,SRS etc...
  16. Gusto is only durable compared to Fofana and James.Gusto had a decent CWC but hasnt answered the question marks from last season when Maresca played him in a role that Acheampong was better at.but say Maresca decides to ditch that and stick to more of a conventional RB .Gusto has nothing major but routinely picks up knocks and niggles so you banking on when he does get those Reece isnt injured too or you playing Caicedo or Trev at RB. Weakening other areas of the team. At CB. Fofana should be classed as a +1. Nobody to count on showing up. Badi do we even count him? So that leaves Colwill as a regular starter (Hato if we sign hum as depth for LB and LCB) then Trev and Tosin As other options.experienced players that can sit out some games and come back in as required.certainly not ones that definately block Josh.Acheampong doesnt play like an inexperienced one,he's not perfect but he doesnt make as many errors as a fair few more experienced ones. I think there's ample games for him with us...maybe 10-15 less games than he would get at Bournemouth, but better level of games, with experiences in UCL and probably deeper in domestic cups. Having him on hand to ease him into the team gradually increasing his workload depending on how he does whilst retaining him for at minimun quality depth at positions we have 3 or 4 players that have serious durability concerns.he's not at an age where he really needs to play regularly, most his age are still playing age grade football.he's shown enough to be given more opportunities with us tho as we streamline the squad over the coming months.
  17. He's one of our best defenders and can play 2 positons as his primary ones.which happens to have 3 players that miss alot of games through injuries. Green unready players are what loans are more useful for. Our current regime don't have a good record of loan to develop and keep.they mostly loan and if they do good they just increase their transfer fee.. Though it's probably a permanent transfer Bournemouth are looking to do.
  18. Should be one of our untouchables.also needed for this season so not even for a loan. Is fine them maybe admiring him..
  19. I'd sell Sterling for 99p wages off the book and forever have the shame of being valued less than items found in poundland! Kinda like when Bates bought Chelsea for a pound.(plus taking on our debts)
  20. Maybe they want to buy two thirds of him now..
  21. Celtic would call him Derry but Rangers would insist on calling him Londonderry....
  22. Ekitike isnt a pure CF and would be better as a LF.if they don't sign Isak ,they can play Ekitike at CF but they can certainly play together.
  23. Hato more of a priority to get over the line quickly. Bigger need, far bigger drop off to the next man up at what he offers. Looks like we lowballed them a tad with our first bid.(£34.7) would need to add a young player to get him without a bigger fee..of course they got their eye on atleast one of ours that happens to cover some of the positions Hato does.
  24. I think when we bought Pedro we thought we were getting what we hoped Nkunku would be and so Simons wouldnt have been seen as needed.now weve seen how good Pedro can be as a complete 9, we don't have that deputy 10,LM/CAM hybrid side of him. Not really promoting getting yet another attacking midfielder but can i think see their thought process. My priority signing still is very much Hato above all others but as often is the case players don't get signed in order of priority. Having Simons would certainly save Palmer getting burnt out aswell as being able to play together in certain situations.
