Villa want Maatsen,we have interest in Duran..valued around the same price.Maatsen more experience/established but Forward more a prime position. Don't see why we don't offer them a straight swap. And possibly offer release clause for Guirassy.two forwards for 18m + LB that isnt gonna play for us anymore. Jackson can compete for multiple spots in the front 3. Could argue why not just get Guirassy but then every Afcon we'd be missing all our CF's.

I would be fine with just sticking with what we got in the wide positions,letting them grow etc...but Olise is a special talent.just hope if we get him he can put those niggling injuries behind him,no question he's been good enough for a while.

Hutch,Chalobah,Maatsen,Hall,Broja ...would i'd say get us atleast £110m pure profit. Then more with Ziyech,Lukaku,atleast 1 keeper etc..

I like Hutch alot but with FFP etc...i'd accept 21m now with a favourable buy back option .without i'd expect more and sell on clause.

Welcome (when it's proper confirmed) I see challenging for 3rd as a realistic goal. Think Klopp really got every drop out of the squad they got,i think before either side has additions ours may be more talented with base talent. Villa will be stretched by Champions league and although a good overall side,rely on a small number of players that they'd struggle without if injuries occur. If some of our vastly talented but missed alot of time players can stay healthy then i'd expect CL place for '25. We werent so far away in the end and that was with alot of longterm injuries and Poch doing some dumb stuff like the Colwill experiment..

They want to go the long time continental style of head coach instead of a manager. I wouldnt call it a yes man. I would have gone a different route but not writing him off.all linked coaches have things people could take as a bad reason for hiring them.

If we make a good hire then it'll be a fluke,have no confidence in the powers that be selecting the right candidate.coaches we are linked with do appear to be the types that would accept being head coach instead of manager. de Zerbi and Maresca have experience coaching multiple members of our current squad. McKenna kinda done the most impressive job of the candidates but as boom or bust as they come.can't help but think the job is out of his depth but he's been defying the odds. I wouldnt say we linked with anyone thats a safe pick.

Poch should have some say on recruitment though just that,not complete control. Should have final say on who is sold though.i'd say that should be the case with every head coach/manager when player concerned wants to stay.

Is playing no better than i expected to be honest,a new player needing to get used to playing with new players but doesn't have to make the leap to a new league and language so that has helped.think he can go up a few gears in future and chip in with goals himself.but a decent start. Maybe we'll never find out why Pep was willing to let him go but won't be the first time a great side has let very good potentially great players leave. Strangest part for me was that he was never loaned out but maybe they just needed a decent fee for FFP. Much like we sell our homegrowns for same.

The nobody over 25 policy is misguided.maybe if we had an old squad and only intend on buying 4-5 players,it would be fine for one window. Business wise it's like having unlimited 1st round picks in NFL drafts with the added bonus that if they don't pan out you aren't trading them for a 7th round pick,they retain their market value longer but for football reasons it's not so great. I'm fine with waiting a couple of years but ownership can't expect the model of running like dortmund,Lyon,Southampton,Ajax etc with the idea that unlike those we don't have to sell our young talent that become good to work if we hire and fire like our previous regime,PSG,Real etc..

Mostly positive about our transfers from January onwards. Some slightly negatives being overkill in the LW/RW departments in general since TB and company took over. I'm several decades removed from being a fanboy of any particular player but when signing or having a youth player come through that you may feel needs a year or two on loan,then deciding to buy 3-4 players of similar profile,isn't an approach i'm a huge fan of. I am quite happy with the Palmer signing,think he could do a good job in at a push 5 different positions.,i think he's footbally mature enough. Not quite a red flag..maybe a pink flag,him having fitness issues supposedly due to his future being up in the air is more than a tad unprofessional.was he thinking of refusing to play if desired transfer didn't happen,was he thinking if somebody pays 50 plus mill for me i can just coast into the season in autumn ? Still a teenager,lots of talent,more potential signed up for years etc... Hope the injury isn't serious and he takes his rehab more seriously than summer fitness.

Most of those teams won't "park the bus" and by then some of our wrinkles should be ironed out.most of currently injured would have returned by then,Lavia should be out of fat club etc...

My own personal experiences in following CFC and life in general allow me to keep my emotions in check and understand what is happening,why and how it's likely to get better. It's a work in progress,it'll take time,some would look at what Rembrandt is painting after he's just started and say it's shit,others choose to wait a while,others until it's completed.
