  1. Looks like Yul Brynner picked the starting lineup after frying his egg head in the heatwave. Half the team is or should be up for sale..tf?
  2. Maignan is by far the best option if club truly believe Penders is the longterm solution.will give him a couple of years to grow into it.. If not then could look at younger keepers.
  3. Without the 3rd grade european mickey mouse cup i'm not so sure Maresca is going to blood our huge potential youngsters enough. Persisting with Gusto over Acheampong,Nkunku over George,Reece out of position over Santos or Essugo.Sanchez over Penders,Jackson over Guiu etc.. Some youngsters arent ready for extended roles but when one has a great game then is left out for a relative veteran who keeps on failing which of them should truly be classed as not ready..thats deciding based on numbers on a birth certificate rather than merit.
  4. That is the issue..Gittens actually would be a great option at LW in a 4-3-3 fast transition set up. But in a 4-2-3-1/3-3-3-1 it's not LW or LF types but LM we need. There is some players in our squad that can work well in multiple formations, roles etc..but vast majority the former is where they excel and same goes for players we are linked with. Although we have need in other positions the one thats causing me most anxiety (relatively because i don't really do anxiety) is not having a viable back up to Cucurella. The guy is a work horse but we are currently fooked if he gets injured or suspended.where as every other position has other options we can work with. Looks like Hato is slipping away..
  5. We would have been whoring it on a yankee merchandise summer tour anyway.
  6. I think Hato be targetted next week.Maignan again sometime later once they are reminded of what they currently got in the keeper ranks during the CWC group stages. The LM/LW/LF addition i think will be the last one to be completed and i suspect will involve a player + cash. With Quenda on the horizon i don't believe they want to spend too much cash on someone to the point that the incoming player would expect to start ahead of Quenda without having to fight for it.
  7. Whilst it's very possible he isn't ready for PL and CL.would gain more from taking him than Nkunku when he mentally left the club about 9 months ago.
  8. Worth remembering the deadline tonight is basically just for group stage of CWC.we can easily win our group with no more additions even though it's always better to get targets in a.s.a.p.
  9. Maybe meet Dortmund half way and get him for 48m (seen they want 55m for him)
  10. Whilst i don't see Noni (or Neto) as longterm solutions,we should keep for atleast another season. Youth we have coming through expected to surpass him but not having to too soon will help them and it's not going to hurt Noni's future transfer value.
  11. Be interested to see what sort of line ups we put out, some players we risk burning out if they don't get a rest soon.with not much rest post tournament to start of season.level of group opponents should help..
  12. If we played 4-3-3 as our base formation with fast transition Gittens would be ideal.he's fast, good dribbler, decent with either foot even tho right is his best. Feel like we signing another Usain Bolt to compete in the 50km walk.
  13. Salary on signing is the biggest factor.added to what we have coming through. Big salaries bind clubs more than transfer fees.
  14. The middle ground between Roman and Clearlake is where we need to be. Both were/are too extreme opposites. Lets see what the rest of the summer window/s bring up.
  15. Think we could get Rogers for money that it would take to get Kudus.maybe we would have to pay more hard cash for Rogers but both deals look like would be a player + cash deal. I'd be much happier with Rogers. We have a need in our attack but we do have to consider whats coming through before biting on big money deals. Noni nor Neto may be the longterm answers but for atleast another year till George and Willian can grow into starting roles isnt a bad idea imo either.
  16. There's always good options in the keeper market early in the summer window but don't see the Maignan one closed yet.
  17. Starting to think when we booked Delap for his medical he went onto the NHS waiting list...
  18. Unless we do another we buy one of yours and you buy one of ours deal.with them, not sure we'd pull it off...they do seem to like alot of our players we looking to get rid of tho..Jackson,Disasi,Felix for Rogers and give them back Kellyman as the free bag of prawn crackers.
  19. LB,LCB,DM,LM,LW..be great to have in the squad. Love his skills,as a defender love his ability to sniff out danger and react in a split second.so good on the ball too. I'd have him competing for LB and LCB to begin with.he's good enough to start but great depth to begin with
  20. Not the biggest of needs but think out of those we linked to this summer Hato is the biggest talent.reckon he could do a good job in any of the defensive and midfield positions. I'd be inclined to bite on his transfer a.s.a.p. *i know i said Maresca should have a word with Renato first but fook it..
  21. I like Ekitike alot if used as a LF,that for me is his true position. Can fill in for CF when needs must but if is being chased for the latter only i'd prefer other options.
  22. Maignan if as expected should be relatively cheap, wouldnt be a bad option as a bridge player until Penders or one of our other young keepers is ready to take over. I'd be more bothered if we had nothing coming through behind him.
  23. For our back line i'd have a direct chat with RV see where his head is at,see if he's prepared to suck it up and play wherever the team needs him, otherwise go in hard for Hato. As for any Branthwaite v Guehi..i like both and wouldn't say Guehi is better long term but with all variables to what getting each would cost, ramifications for rest of the squad, transfer drama etc...i'd pick Guehi..i reckon Branthwaite would be a long protracted over priced deal and block path of young players that we have that could become better.where as Guehi would be good but not at a price or age that totally blocks those paths.
  24. Players weve brought in and continue to be linked with i think are more suited to a 4-3-3 fast counter attacking team than a 4-2-3-1 slow walk. Gittens and Ekitke LW/LF much better suited to those rolls than as LM and CF
  25. I'm fine with Jackson staying and fighting for a place and fine with him leaving for a profit. If we as reported are in for yet another winger i hope it's atleast the kind that can be like Anelka was for us. Wide forward/Center Forward. NJ might be able to do that but not seen him used out wide..Nkunku been tried in both but when given the CF job, hid from the danger area like a fat kid in PE.
