  1. I never doubted Ivanovic wouldn't leave. The big question remains about Bosingwa.
  2. That whole paragraph is exactly why Lampard is better. That last line in particular is one point I made too, very well put by SC though.
  3. Gerrard's shots are more powerful, but Lampard's are more accurate. Also, Lampard has the ability to create something out of nothing. Gerrard needs the players around him to create something, be it Torres or Xabi Alonso. I don't think he's as "incredible" as you make him out to be - I'd also argue Lampard's a better passer than Gerrard is. Gerrard's control is better, but long balls? Lampard wins. As for leadership - Well we've got John Terry
  4. Drogba still has the potential to do something like that - He should take notes.
  5. I'll have a go Badboy.. Yes Gerrard inspires, but that's only in the 80th minute when the team has lost all hope. He's like Essien (of late), when hope is losing out he'll make the drives forward and inspire others. However Lampard, will find you the goals. He's the one who's got the awareness and genius to be in the right place, at the right time. Be it in the box, to poach in a goal, or on the D to drive in a powerful shot which it 99% to be a goal. Gerrard doesn't stick to his position. Example; during the World Cup complaints were "he's being played on the left, out of position". When Fabio moved him to just behind the striker, he went off the left he was totally out. Like Anelka, no sense of position.
  6. That last line. Very cheeky from Redknapp - Trying to stir up some media hype?
  7. Before that season we were being ruled out of 09/10 as it was! But you can only be labelled as a "glory hunter" if you do, as you say, "fucked of during our recent bad run of games". I only really got into football during the 99/00 season and I haven't looked back since. My Dad had tried to make me into a Liverpool fan (he's been one all his life) but I stuck with the blues because, honestly, I loved the badge LOL - But then I started watching the games more and more that season and I realised "I love this club!". Then 3 years later - In came Abramovich.
  8. Wow. You lucky guy, incredible. The feeling to have met a true legend, and to know he was as genuine as perceived, the feeling must be unforgettable?
  9. Did anyone just see Ibrahimovic's goal vs Lecce?! Amazing
  10. Agreed. Just because fans came after Abramovich, it doesn't make them "glory hunters". If they truly want to support the club, through thick and then, then there shouldn't be a problem
  11. I'd challenge you to find one person on this forum who would say different
  12. That simply means a) Tottenham can come back with a better offer and aquire him or b ) We can reopen talks and try and get the personal terms agreed (wages perhaps)
  13. I understand where you're coming from, but I don't really believe the whole "don't care" thing. I put it more down to lack of confidence rather than not caring. One of the main things that has cost us games is poor defending, so players like Essien don't go as forward much, we've seen he is the same Bison when he goes on his emphatic runs to try and create something. He does this usually in the last 10minutes when worrying about conceding is less important than scoring. We all said he was wasted in the defensive midfield role when Mourinho deployed him there, but I think that's wrong now. I think he's better there, and making those surging runs when there's enough cover at the back.. I think that's the only way we'll see Bison return. Again, I make the same point about lack of confidence being masked as not caring. Trouble with Malouda is, before he used to have a free role on that left wing. Ashley Cole used to over lap his runs so the defence found it a nightmare to deal with both. Unfortunately Cole's decline is beginning, and so it leaves more for him to do. I think he is trying, but because he knows he's not performing, it's contributing to his poor technique. Defenders are getting the better of him and he's getting more and more frustrated. This is when Carlo needs to talk to Malouda, assure him of his ability and just encourage him to work harder. Drogba is really have a troubled time lately. You can see he knows he's not performing as well, and it's bitter for him considering last seasons form. Carlo says he's on his way to recapturing that but I'm not seeing it to be honest. I think if he'd scored yesterday it would've helped him, he was just unlucky Givet was able to get that last ditch tackle yesterday - And that Salgado was having a very good game. I don't think dropping him is the answer though (as controversial as that may sound ) Yeah, can't argue with that - It's good because it keeps Mikel & Ramires on top of their game! Your last point is very true as well. It's not the fact we sold Ballack and all them, it's rather the fact we didn't replace them. I think we were all deluded, for the right reasons, at the beginning of the season when we were winning 6-0 all the time and that's all down to confidence. Unfortunately I don't think we'll capture that raging confidence again, the 7-0 against Ipswich was probably a 1-off (hopefully not) - Considering they were managerless.
  14. Good point - Well explained. With the likes of Lampard & Essien/Ramires there supporting him, the experience is invaluable. Contrary to popular opinion - Carlo's not totally inept
  15. Would rather him over Pienaar. No way Harry would sell though.
  16. Most fans will never truly appreciate Lampard because of Gerrard and the fact he plays for Chelsea. It's pointless to argue otherwise now, as long as we know the truth, it's all good.
  17. Guys, didn't you see the first half? And most the second actually - Till the goal break. We were awful. There was no creativity or inspiration. As Hislop said, rather annoyingly, they're so predictable. Had it not been for Ramires injecting some pace and determination yesterday most of the Stamford Bridge would have been jeering them. I don't want be 'that guy' that people label as 'never satisfied' - But yesterday didn't mark the beginning of everything. Like Styles said - If Blackburn were more attacking - We would've seriously struggled. Thank god Santa Cruz wasn't match fit. Bolton away will show our true colours.
  18. Because our generation is ruined by money. Players come and go so quickly it's hard to establish those legends really.. What a shame.
  19. Haha I remembered when we signed him and no-one had any idea who he was! My friend and I even joked he was a made up transfer to make it look like we were signing everyone then a year later.. 2-Goal Ivanovic was born!
  20. It's too early to judge. We really had to grind out our results today. The set piece helped us because Ivanovic/Terry got in the crucial headers, but most of the game we lacked any real creativity. There wasn't much sparks of brilliance, we just played down the wings, got the ball in the box, for no-one to meet. If we put together a run of wins then perhaps it will be a new chapter. But for now, it's far too early to make those sorts of comments by CA.
