  1. Trying Total Football perhaps.. Though I don't think our squad could pull it off unless we got much better talent..
  2. Yep true. Who would your recommendation be if Villas-Boas will not come?
  3. LOL... Media will have a field day if they find that one again
  4. That's true. But I said that because of what we witnessed today. Roman likes consistency. So he'll love how Barcelona retained their La Liga crown and are also on course to win their second Champions League title in 3 seasons.
  5. True. It's a real shame though because those gambles came from within.. Unfortunately we have no-one to step up to the plate within our club. Villas-Boas did have a spell here under Mourinho, so technically
  6. Oh, haha! Yeah definitely needs to get off the touchline and back wherever he used to be. He's an embarrassing embodiment of how much the Wilkins' fiasco was portrayed by the squad.. Poor PR decision once again.
  7. Then the question becomes, do we seek to tempt an already employed manager, with a proven track run (i.e. Guardiola) to us with big money. Or do we take a gamble on an inexperienced, younger manager who we'd trust in for a longer tenure (i.e. Villas-Boas)
  8. Isn't his job to gather opposition data? We don't know if he's failed to do that. He should be relieved of his duties as an "assistant coach" but not from the club itself as his role didn't change, just the title.
  9. Was very impressed with him after the World Cup! Very good for Ivory Coast. Good to see he's backed it up for club now!
  10. I've got to to say Killamanjaro, you've stayed quite calm through this fiasco. Looking at both sides of the argument, I'm quite convinced that relieving Carlo maybe Roman's way of admitting a mistake. I have no doubts that he does care for this club, he's shown that by splashing out £75million in January when we were 15-points off the title. The next manager's hiring will not be Champions League driven. It'll be someone who will be better for this club, that in turn will guide to Champions League glory.
  11. Good points made here! I don't think anyone will deny that Roman's trying to think long term. But in doing so he's making mistakes, a lot of them. The biggest mistake for this season was the failure to recognised squad depth last season. We thought the youth could replace the departed & injured, but the opposite was true instead. If he has learnt from this, then that's fine. Like I say, no-one will deny Roman's commitment to the club, but a plan needs to be drawn out! One plan which will include, not firing after 1 trophyless season.
  12. Yeah, and most will do the very same upon the appointment of the next manager.. Sad state of affairs that we now have to wait a minimum 2 seasons to make a claim like that now.
  13. The problem is.. We keep thinking we've found these "long-term" managers and then end up firing them. Mourinho, Scolari, Ancelotti.. How many more will we go through?
  14. I think you're probably right. Basically, the board never think long-term till Chelsea are crowned European Champions. It's going to be a bumpy ride in the next few years..
  15. Being like Madrid is a sh*t model. Stability is the key to ensuring long-term success. Wouldn't you rather have a management administration that can deliver 36 trophies in 25 years than what we do now? One bad season doesn't define a manager. I'm sorry but that's the underlying theme at this club. The fact our management thinks a world-class manager can deliver back-to-back titles. This is a myth.
  16. Unfortunately, no-one will boo him as much as they did Terry.
  17. Yeah, just to know that despite delivering success in the previous season, he'd be sacked for having a trophyless one. Disgusting..
  18. Hit the nail on the head. We're the Premier League version of Real Madrid. Which is no good thing by far.. Everton are the opposite of us. They've got no money but management stability. We've got truck loads, but severe instability. Ridiculous.
  19. The real question is... What manager is crazy enough to take this cursed job? Any world-class manager needs just 1 look at how we handle a crisis & they'll run a mile..
  20. Certainly hope so if Hiddink is Plan A
  21. That's amazing! Happy for you mate, it's the least you deserve for how much you've spent coming here & going to all the matches you can. Well done mate, treasure them forever
  22. Lets lock this now. Enough has been said..
  23. My stomach actually just sank. Absolutely gutted for him. Carlo Ancelotti we can not thank you enough for how gracious you've been this season and in the last few weeks!
