Don't underestimate United. Whispers of Nani wanting to leave have been prominent in the last few years and Ferguson's been noted of travelling to France to see the kid play. There have been rumours about Gaitan too, but that's as equal as the Hazard rumours. I'd change the verdict to slightly more favourable than Spurs and us.

If Milan win on Tuesday, we really need to go for it...

To be honest, on the back of 2011 I didn't even think we'd make it to this stage. When we drew Napoli I bricked it because of how shoddy we played in the group stages. Let's remember, we only got that far because we finally put in a good performance v. Valencia in that game of goal difference. So anything we do now is a bonus for me. Getting past Napoli was a fantastic day, the reactions on here were a testament to that. So should we even make it to the semi-finals (which we're not in yet!) I would be beyond proud of Chelsea. If we get there, it doesn't matter who we come up against because neither will be an easy fixture. Some of you will be happy with Milan but remember, Milan beat Arsenal & they'd have beat Barcelona, making them a serious challenge to get past. So let's not underestimate Milan, or even think that far ahead. Live for the moment. -
The best part is, I know Liverpool fans who said all these things, word for word.
-
We could. But I expect we'll be sending full strength squads to be honest I'll be curious about the prices. They've said CL would be frozen, I'm sure EL will take a hike.

Which was thoroughly denied as a misquotation in a later press conference.

He's denied the retirement reports apparently? -
LMAO Term

Nah, by different type I meant Cavani or Falcao as opposed to Higuain et al. That's an interesting one Henrique. The problem with this is, under this current system one of the players will get shifted wide and spend most of his time on the pitch there. If this partnership were to be given a chance, the manager's tactics and guidance will be pivotal in making them work at the same time.
-
He's still quite average. Work rate's there and even finishing, but there's no way you can trust him after this season to lead the line. At least now we can get some more money out of him, we need a different type of striker. Not the type that's Torrres.
-
He should still be sold in June.
-
But Ron wanted to go to Real. If Ivanovic wanted to leave, then fair enough we sell him for a high price. If he has no intention of leaving, though, then selling shouldn't be considered at all. I could understand why the club would though, so I'd accept that. I don't know much of Cesar. In any case, I'd think we'd need to keep Ivanovic for another season for Azpil- to settle and become an understudy. Ivanovic's age allows this process to take place. Anyway who knows if we're even after him now that andré has left.
-
Can't sell our best players for financial reasons, big clubs don't do that. They sell when that star becomes a problem or shows signs of slowing down, Ivanovic is at his peak I believe. He's one of the best right-backs in the league after Sagna (remember, there's a real decline in full-backs in world football right now). Selling is futile if we don't have anyone to fill that void. Bosingwa? Ferreira? And who'd we buy as replacement? Van Der Weil is as dodgy, if not more, as Bosingwa.
-
Because I think fixing him in that position, even if on just paper, would shatter him. Torres is a child (I'm not trying to offend here), care must be taken with him, and tilt off this confident spell and he crashes and burns again.
-
What a weird, exhilarating, day of football. Good results imo, Arsenal drop points, City drop points. If Liverpool & Tottenham drop points tomorrow it'll be the perfect weekend of football Happy for Torres, he deserved a goal today. Happy for Sturridge finding the net again, but BIG question marks over defending today!
-
So.. What's new exactly?
-
Because Mourinho didn't ask for him. Mr Perez thought he'd take it upon himself to purchase him on behalf of Real Madrid (Guillem, 2011). They have better options so it's understandable to be honest. It's another Pedro Leon case, where Real only bought him because Barcelona were interested too (supposedly)
-
Exactly. Only when we get more starting-quality players would we truly appreciate the contributions that Meireles could provide in a season. Especially when we come across this patch where we play almost every 3-days. Everyone matters when you have a fixture pile-up such as this.
-
Sturridge, alongside Mata, is the most talented member of our squad. Nothing to do with the fact he's English. We need Sturridge more than he needs us.
-
So now things are going well it was André this, André that. I think his agent's made some silly comments, it was andré who gave him those run of games in the beginning of the season and just as it looks like it was paying off the Spaniard gets himself sent off. Now if Drogba's stepping up in that time how's Torres' agent going to believe he's going to play his client? He gave him more chances as a striker than the agent's making out. Such comments should have a fine be brought onto the client by the club.
