I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sh'tting this. They'll be just as fired up for this, if not more, after seeing Arsenal leapfrog them.
-
If I were him, I'd hand in a transfer request. Ridiculous how he's not even allowed a shot in the FA Cup against fucking Leicester City. Poor acquisition, I'm sure if Arsenal had signed him he'd have played 10+ games this season.
-
Where on earth did they find the money?!
-
This man and his supporters would disagree. We got a penalty in the reverse fixture for the same thing, if you remember correctly.
-
The boo's were unneeded last night though.
-
Not worried, even if we don't make it there. Just hope we give it a good fight for it, obviously it'll suck not being there, but meh, we've seen worse things in this club
-
I was tempted to make mocking joke saying we should move Ramires to right-back. I now evaluate the 'mocking joke' part.
-
9-men down, Mourinho sent to the stands and drawing 1-1. Talk about bottling it
-
Yeah I know, I know, I didn't think you had
-
Yeah, but I'll give Torres tremendous credit, he did hold off the strong challenge of Richards but it was right for him to go off when he did.
-
I don't think so. Drogba's good at closing down games and truthfully told, Torres was going nowhere. He played well, don't get me wrong, but keeping him fresh for Tottenham is more important.
-
I don't think there's much we could really complain about? I mean the depths of squads on paper spoke for themselves. We did well to absorb as much of their attack as we could and we were simply undone by a mistake from Essien and a classy goal by Nasri. Nothing much to reflect from this game. Would've been nice to steal the points, but City earned them. Fair play, I'm content in defeat. Well done Chelsea, especially Luiz & Cahill
-
Doesn't look like Mata's forgotten about what Yaya Touré did in the first fixture, what a twat. Anyway we need some talent down that right hand side. It screams out Sturridge's name, Ramires & Sturridge could cause some real damage if they targeted Clichey because he looks like their weak link.
-
'officially.' Lol.
-
Yeah. I understand the need to be slightly more defensive, which is why I'm glad Mikel's playing but this is a game where we can attack the full backs, especially because Richards is playing centre-back. Zabaleta & Clichy aren't very solid, Sturridge could skin the either.
-
Own-goal from Tevez would be fantastic, even if it's at an expense of a 3-1 loss
-
Strange line-up, very strange. Also, I don't trust Torres at all, still, I really hope he's doesn't take his infamous 2steps backwards tonight! Midfield is f'cked up as well. Sturridge should be playing.
-
I'm bricking this. Prove my instincts wrong Chelsea!
-
Exactly! This is my case and point for using the reserve keepers
-
"I'm sorry that we cannot admire Ivanovic on Italian fields because he was close to coming to Italy twice in the past," - Anyone know if this was recently?
-
This is why we have to be patient with him! Can't be easy for him to change his player instincts like that.
-
Well no-one though Swansea would make it to be fair.. But agree with most, we'd cripple Scotland's economy if we took away the old firm.

I believe it lays in decision making and being mature enough (as a player) to make that right decision of the judgement on who's in a better position to score. I'm confident that's something he can grow out of, right now he's young, hungry and going for goals as much as he can get. Hell it wasn't so long that we were all praising his selfishness because no-one could even trust Torres in front of an open goal (for the record, I still don't). And come on. I don't even need to look at goals to know Sturridge is a better player right now than Torres or Drogba. Sturridge is much more direct when going through on goal, he scares the opposition shitless and one-on-one he's more reliable than Torres certainly. Danny's pace is the biggest difference between the 3, his switch of pace is what allows us to have such a great attacking threat when we're in possession we saw that again Newcastle when Mata's balls would set Sturridge off like a bullet. I know Torres got his brace on the weekend, but afaic, Sturridge is still currently a better player than the Spaniard and Sturridge would always be in my first XI while making that debate between Drogba & Torres. Because for all of Sturridge's negative traits (like that selfish streak) he's still able to be a threat.
-
That's fair. But I still go back to the fact he's still learning his position and letting go of those centre-forward instincts can't be easy for him, it is like Ronaldo's first season with United where the selfishness was in his game too but as he got older he improved drastically on that. I saw a post that says Daniel should be dropped because of this, I can't agree with this at all because despite this selfishness which could've cost us some easy goals he's still a bigger threat on goal than Torres or Drogba, his over all games proves this as much as anything. I agree that he will make more of an impression when he starts seeing these passes and playing them. Judgement will only come with maturity and maturity will come with time. I'm sure RDM's seen it, I'm sure Drogba has a word with him too. I see progress since the beginning of the season and I remain positive that we will cut it out of his game because he does have the luxury of time.

The winning goal deserved to be just that. A great time, happy for Juve & Conte! They deserve it. Glad Del Piero grabbed a goal too
