As a back up, at the time, it made perfect sense. It's not like Begovic was shit come his Stoke days, we in fact tried to sign him in 2010 before we had Courtois from Genk. He's certainly more capable than Turnbull or Hilario, days when they were filling in for Cech was far too unbearable & embarrassing. So I'm far happier with Begovic tbh.

The only reason I would disagree initially is because these guy will respond to JM much easier than LVG. They'll give him instant respect and with Zlatan being Jose's biggest allie I don't think he'll lose the dressing quite as rapidly as he did at Chelsea. But once Zlatan goes, no way he stays at United beyond 2017, then it'll be interesting. I wonder how he'll treat Rooney, a man he's tried to sign before but so obviously in a decline. He's lost both in positioning and sharpness.

What are you on about man? Have you not seen the million (AND MILLIONS) Twitter journalists continue to report otherwise?
-
This so much Yeah I remember this. When it was inevitable he was leaving there was a lot of talk about his desire to continue in Italy, I believe even Barcelona were seriously interested before Juventus took strides in securing his signature. People think dealing with De Laurentiis is difficult, Zamparini is no pushover either. Still recall when Pastore was the biggest thing in Italy since sliced bread lmao! No matter how much we offered it didn't budge close to his valuation for JP and in the end PSG were more than happy to pay the record at the time (flashbacks of the Robinho affair too).

Ah, the inevitable panic finally sets in , looks like we probably will spend £125m for two players....
-
Icardi is that one transfer rumour that writes itself now, replacing the Cavani and Falcao pre-Monaco and many others that we always get connected with. Except Icardi is also always 'going; to Arsenal and Juve too, so meh. I'll believe it when I see it
-
It's called 'clickbait', there's nothing substantial enough to prove it. It's basically your average '£200m warchest' situation. I thought you off all people would appreciate that
-
Traore's old number? (Iirc?). That didn't take long for the club to replace
-
Feel sorry for the guy, injuries that prevent such moves must be heartbreaking for players. Hope he gets another opportunity.
-
Isn't that Koulibaly fellow 25 and just blowing up now too?
-
This was amazingly nostalgic. Thank you for this piece of eloquence :')

Yeah, its disappointing and a shame but I'm under no illusion the boy's coming back.. Back the drawing board. I'm sure it's not long before the "bring back Abraham" calls come through..
-
Wait, he wants to keep Matic over Fabregas?! . Boy that Italian stereotype really is coming to fruition lmao!! Anyway, I doubt this is true. Juventus don't need Fabregas, they've got Pjanic who's younger and perhaps more suited to Juve if anything. I don't have a problem with the guy being here, but he'll need protecting by Kante &/or Matic.
-
^ please don't LOL. I keep hoping we're going to decide on an alternative, but it seem less and less unlikely. Namely because, there's no world class strikers available right now. Lukaku, on paper, is almost the perfect striker for any club. Over 50 Prem League goals by 23 is no small feat (only 5 players to have done so). But he doesn't bring enough imo. If Conte has a master plan, I'm all for it. But he won't be around long enough to see that, so I really wonder how much Lukaku can really progress at Chelsea before he starts to regress.
-
To be fair, Cudicini shouldn't be entertaining such tweets. Brings attention to the original tweet and does what you basically say lol.
-
Wow, wow, wow. All his goals have been winning goals, a 95th minute winner with the icing on the cake!! I mean he'll probably follow Borini, Sturridge, Feruz, Solanke, Traore etc towards the loanee abyss of the club. At least he's being allowed his success now, it'll feel much better when we begin wasting his time
-
Lmao wait, so from Matic "was and is a Chelsea player" to "Roma reject €40m for Nainggolan" . Comical we were supposed have this 'wrapped up' before we even had Conte in charge and now we're panicking because when we could have signed Gundugon (before Pep declared his interest) by just paying the damn fee. Anyway, I presume we'll just end up paying over the odds OR we chase until the end of the window, end up not being able sign him and get someone like Diarra
-
This is going to be either really embarrassing for us or an incredible game goal wise
-
For what it's worth, I think Otamendi will get much better but point taken otherwise
-
Loanees can be recalled.
-
Bloody hope he's staying. Need all the personnel we can utilise right now. Wonder if he'll ever capture that 2014 form.. Sigh.
-
Why not Christensen. He played consistently and regularly in the Bundesliga last season, hell if we're doomed to go in with Terry & Cahill, eventually welcoming back Zouma, why not have him as a back up and eventual replacement of one of Terry/Cahill. It's a fool's dream though, we'll probably keep Hector as backup.
-
Man I hope Conte's been impressed by the lad and keeps him with the first team, he's had some valuable loans now and is ready to be part of this Chelsea team. Whether that's as a central midfielder or defender, he's a good utility player & still relatively young. Still remember that 2012 FAYC final, crazy to think Nat is still only 21! Anyway, I don't think he will lol. Probably another loan then eventual sale, keeping in line with the model we've adopted.
-
Yeah I usually stick to drinking . Last season was definitely the time to have made the switch though lmao.. Bring on the glory days again!

Waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you there my friend!
