  1. Because he signed contract with the club I guess + owners kinda effed him over with the Tuchel thing. Apparently no offer firm enough for him to move.
  2. Watching the training clips from our official media I have a really hard time telling who even are more of those guys, so that's how massive change we've came through in short time. Actually excited to watch the preseason and how much of a teambuilding Poch will be able to pull off. And I'm mentally ready we will see some comedy, hopefully no injuries at the same time.
  3. Frank is on newest Diary of a CEO podcast with some insights on his career and coaching philosophy. Quite an interesting listen so far. In this conversation Frank and Steven discuss topics, such as: • His father’s role in his success • His fear of failure • His work ethic and understanding of his weaknesses • The coping mechanisms he has used along the way • What it takes to be a modern manager • Creating an environment for success • The challengers of being a modern player • How his mothers death impacted him • His plans for Chelsea
  4. Weird it went down so quietly and easy. Can't advertise no bank, beer, luxury watches, it services as well because of potential conflict? Yeah, lets all promote bookies and paydays loans, because that's pretty much what's left, is, say, legal and have funds. Meanwhile shady oil money good.
  5. I want to believe that team in this picture is the team of top 4 contenders. I want to believe.
  6. Wait for our very own preseason clips tho 😂 Makes me respect Werner even more - he failed in similar manner, but at least tried and gave effort to provide output in different areas
  7. Quite often in last few year their academy products were supposed to conquer the world, but not much came from it, starting with Aouar, so maybe that's at least some reasonable valuation…
  8. What the hell is up with people moaning "stay" aka "come back" to a fella who has zero appearances in our shirt like he was prime Hazard or something? If he took Lukaku as his role-model let him fuck off immediately, cashless swap for Caicedo and bam, two circuses finished in one move. Btw. SMS to Al-Hilal as per Romano. Interesting, huge "what if" story, bit like Oscar.
  9. Moved? Is that the "ending of player power" that was talked for entire season? Fine him week's wages for every day he is not here and let him self finance the tiny part of his move this way.
  10. Most of people seem to like on twitters and facebooks actually. I think I'd be fine with it if not the airmax logos, but mostly the white part that somehow makes it looks less noble imo and reminds me of some of worst Adidas-times kits. Kinda gives off the Leicester/Brighton vibe. If we wanted the "retro", they could around that blackout (blueout, lol) anniversary cup kit that almost everyone liked and looks somewhat more refined to me. Still it remains to be judged with shorts and sponsors, as now it's more a Megastore shirt than proper football kit anyway. Btw I actually smirk a bit at that whole 90's comeback and young people dressing like this - I guess it hits the childhood sentiment for some, but I remember it mostly for misery, tackiness and envious looking at people in the west, who had opportunity to, well, live like humans. Meanwhile I vividly remember the need to look behind your back and brace for fistfight every time you'd leave the house after 16, as some shitheads would always love to take away from you even the very little you had then. I actually liked the the Stamford Bridge Roofing kit era marketing bit more - straight outta Cobham, Chelsea thing, embrace tradition, but not on the straightforward "everything goes retro" bandwagon. But I guess we'll get used to it like every other year anyway, just hope they'll do something interesting for GK kit and not just slap some pink-white stuff and call it a day.
  11. Yeah, Jackson done well in Spanish League, but for a very short period of time. We've seen such bursts by our "shit players" as well. I'm very curious of this guy and hope he will do well, but I'm afraid he may be upgraded version of Tammy more than reincarnation of Drogba. Hope to be wrong though.
  12. I feel like the "90's aesthetic" may be mostly appealing to people, who weren't alive in the 90's 😂 Those logos remind me of fake shirts and pendants with Nike logs and cannabis leafs during seaside holidays. Would be passable had it looked anything like on the render above. Also it looks like those logos may weight quite a bit, so I could see the match kit being more flat like the Nintendo render from previous page.
  13. Man, I was freaking fuming here when Enzo was happening 😂 I guess with similar arguments. And I still think it was quite an overpay 👀. Yeah, I wouldn't really entertain Rice for over 80 as well. But we have well paid people in place to scout and sort this stuff out, meanwhile their moves look like amatourish pr and negotiations teams, that don't do more than any of us with FM on hand could.
  14. This is more a question for @Vesper I guess 😂 Maybe he wouldn't, but if Real will be happy to dump him for Mbappe, he will have go somewhere and it won't be Barca, so maybe some contact wouldn't hurt. I guess we successfully missed Ugarte and Tonali (congrats), but hence Brighton is hardballing because they want Colwill and we are easy to mug, maybe instead of leaking to press that we are desperate suckers, it would be better to leak that we have alternatives? Make some noise? Talk to Busquets, show them the handbag of cash waiting. Troll Bayern, sniff around Kimmich. Diplomacy is about tactful but ruthless display of dominance, not licking feet of entity much smaller and less powerful than yours. Meanwhile we have dumped astronomical amounts of dough there for subpar assets and still consider Brighton some god-tier club we have to tiptoe around. Arsenal passed on him and decided to pay up for Rice, but they had a choice to pay what Brighton asked and for some reason they didn't, right? Maybe that's way no one is calling them idiots (on those grounds at least, lol). Maybe he is a perfect fit for them, will sell truckload of shirts and is just the right fit, personality and skill wise. Meanwhile I'm not foolish enough to delude myself our staff knows who is the perfect fit. Rice is at least HG, an issue that will SURPRISINGLY bite us in the ass soon, that may be worth that 30 million alone in some circumstances.
  15. I don't have a problem with the target, but with the way business is being conducted - they want 100? Offer 85 and let everyone know you desperately need this player by friday and have absolutely zero alternative and it will end on 95 + bonuses. Laugh in their face and offer 20, it will end in 50 at best. Maybe they'll forget you are THE idiot who bought Cucurella for 60. It's not like City and Arsenal are waiting with their credit cards to snag him and if they will about to do this for ~70 like any club with dignity and sense of reasonability will, we can easily match it. Another question is whether this guy wants to come here or is indifferent but will happily do a fundraiser for his beloved Brighton. But yeah, we have already successfully pulled a bidding war with ourselves over Enzo, who had absolute zero offers and firm interest from other clubs, so the Chelsea way in action again I guess. Virtually no other top club is paying such shitloads of money, especially for players from mid-table teams who may turn out good, but may also not quite. Tchouaméni was 80 mil Euro, just to have a little comparison.
  16. One man's trash is other man's treasure, we love seeing our players as unfit for even the sunday league level, but I don't think Rice is like million levels above Mount or Havertz, not to mention anyone coming from Brighton… This reminds me of everyone going apeshit over Raphinia a little bit. Some clubs will let themselves be pushed over, some will not. I can see De Laurentis selling Mount for 80 and getting Caicedo for 50 🤪
  17. Well, Juve was so repenting for their misconduct they begged to be thrown out of this, so I guess we are not missing much more than ton of needles injuries here…
  18. Make it 60 and we are back in realm of reality, expensive, but reality. Some lessons should be learnt from our previous genius Brighton purchases… How much we wanted for Mount vs how much United offered vs how much he is gone for?
  19. Did they? They know we act like children in the fog, get shafted by clubs on nearly every occasion and have strange soft spot for Brighton and will buy any snake oil from them at any price. Any reasonable club will make use of it. Especially that we don't seem to have Plan C in terms of MF (as he seems to be Plan B). Or any plan at all to be precise, given we pushed Havertz and Azpi to model for new kit.
  20. Hoped it will look better on person, but it gives off thrift shop find vibes af and the logos look like part of airmax cushion in the 90's. Maybe drop the golden badging and add some sponsor and we will get used to it, but overall bearability depends much on shorts that were not shown…
  21. Good stuff, golden badge after getting 12th place is Arsenal tier move. And, as it was said million times, Nike is doing us dirty, the patterned version looks bit better than the plain one that looks like fake from town market, but still terrible. Also, presentation without sponsor? What is the point then?
  22. We know he is reluctant to come back since at least winter, It's not like he came up with this this evening. Why? Well, we are mess and loaded with CBs . It's not like purging all the senior and key players magically fixed all our problems. Actually, it potentially made it worse if they won't be replaced, if anything. It's a first step, but the club is far from getting the stabilization job done and time is running out slowly.
  23. I respect his talent, but this is another Mount story in the making - people loosing their shit over him, calling him "future captain" and biggest Chelsea talent, while he himself can't be bothered much and is sending signals since like 7 months he is one foot in freaking Brighton lol. I can somewhat understand he needs to be careful with his career at this stage and this is mostly the question of reassurance and level of trust that Clearlake season 2 feat. Poch is generating in players of all things. Hell, I can't even say how trustworthy it is to me and I am no one. And yeah, he may need to earn his spot, but not like we do not have history of freezing out players for months because f***k them, like Tomori, Mendy, DDA, or Chucka, who barely licked the pitch. We had all the possibilities to give players chance to impress under Lamps 2.0, yet we didn't, so I doubt Poch will be more likely to take risks when starting clean slate.
  24. huh? We had foo fighters staff, so everything is possible.
  25. Gallagher is like bit better version of Barkley - squad player to fill in with less sophisticated opposition, crucial difference is Connor (still) cares. People being "fine with Kepa" giving me flashbacks to few years ago, when we had decent squad that could collect so much more points if we had GK anything like prime Mendy. Our memory is short, so I guess brace for surprise and frustration if we aren't getting new no1 or at least someone to compete for the spot.
