His slump happened pretty much the same time Kepa suffered as well, got injured and pretty much forgotten. Can't shake the feeling this guy literally got gassed here by typical mismanagement, incompetence and whatever else was happening behind the courtains

Someone posted a table of break-even transfer values of all our players if we wanted them to be ffp-neutral and they weren't that high at all. I don't really understand how it's counted, but the precieved loss may not matter at the end of the day.
-
Al-Nassr in for Saul as well, reportedly. This is just ridiculous. Like prime MLS, but 3x better and set up in one window. Won't end well.
-
"Take Kepa to the next level?" Like, how? He is gonna extend his bones by 10cm or what?
-
If even our overpaying board is not jumping onto this, it means he is objectively worth 10.

Quality journalism I guess, 25 x 4 years adds up to 100, so it may be a mistake one way or another.

How naive one have to be to think Saudis are "saving us" by (supposedly) buying our unwanted players? Knowing British government attitude towards Chelsea, not to mention the FA and co, it's a money laundering investigation, with threats of all those deductions and exclusions from cups (that we had not qualified for, lol) hanging in the air. Of course, they will keep their eyes and ears shut closely towards fact of mere existence of entities like City at the same time.

WTF? How can you deny team having a legal, legit sponsor? Ridiculous and scandalous. It's not quite in line with basic freedom of business too, I guess.
-
Boehly: Instructions unclear, bought another mediocre player for 135 million plus addons.
-
It may be incidentally very convenient for us at the moment, but it's hard not to notice that whole Saudi League thing is concerning AF. It will hit the fan one way or another and I guess sooner, than later…

Somehow I feel personally attacked now 😬
-
Seriously we couldn't recoup a single Euro for any of those players?
-
Misread it as Diego Costa and thought "oh, actually, I'm fine with that"…
-
I'd much rather see something from Clearlake's portfolio = fictional sponsorship = less FFP income = one less random player acquired this window, than display bookies, payday loans, online casinos, crypto or porn on shirt, we are not National League team, have some self respect for god's sake!

What should we offer him? CEO position? Blackmail him? Both? He is going to Real (and give them a hard time) or nowhere.
-
Some say Rice is great, some say he is meh. I'd say if Caicedo is Rice level, but not HG, 20 mil is fair deal, given how much free money we had already transferred to Brighton for whatever reason 😂
-
Yeah, anything Brighton is an instant red flag with this board for me. I'd say every player (especially given we are pretty much hunting around B/C tier) is pretty much overrated if people are sweating for them to instantly transform us back into solid and unstoppable team, like a lot of people thought will happen with Enzo.
-
Let alone whether any of those reports is true, sometimes it's better to start fresh, than try to redeem oneself where he failed. Plus, he may be sick of the mess, sick of relying on foo fighters staff, sick of all his teammates being purged and replace with random buys, sick of "the vision", sick of 8 years contracts, sick of being Brighton wannabes, sick of purposeful downgrading the team, not fancying Poch, who may be kept here forever or replaced with another pe teacher yes-man etc. I wouldn't mind him staying, but can see where he is coming from.
-
Or maybe a madman or king of evil. TBH, no one other than Chelsea Football Club had caused this mess with it's own idiocy, so I even somewhat support him in trolling the shit out of position we had put him in.
-
Caicedo seemed PSG-bound the last time I had checked 😀 Maignan openly said he's not interested (not like we had picked Mendy over him a while ago), Skriniar one feet in PSG, Rice we had moaned around and about seem Arsenal-bound and I'm far from being blown away with idea of replacing our keepers with Onana for big money. No striker in sight as well, stil we seem to have quite a bit less of a pull for players, than PSG and Real, so we will have to do with what they will left on the table.
-
So do I, but so far we only have loud rejections and buying players, who are hardly ready for U21 level (like the first clearlake window). In reasonable world, I'd be patient and at ease, but given the recent times here, I wouldn't be surprised had we pulled the fire sale of our (still) best players and not replace them with anyone even comparable.
-
So we should keep Mount, Havertz, Gallagher and co. because they MIGHT become good in the future People are crying with pitchforks for them to be gone, because they blame them for us being shit this season, half rightfully so I guess, but the question they seem to miss is WHO TF ARE WE REPLACING THEM WITH? Because if board's idea of answer to this is "another hungry prospect from freaking Brighton's reserves for only 100 million", then no thank you, I prefer Gallagher. And so far they seem to be struggling to land players who are actually better (still remains the fact they may decline after joining us like 90% of those hot topics).

"Guy is eyeing a rock and rubberband as an alternative to to a car if he can't agree a fee on one" kind of news. But on serious note, if any of those twitter bs is true, we are barely into the window, already missed on key targets, failing at selling deadwood, desperate to sign plan C and D players and trying to push out all of our core players, to replace them with inferior options. Another shambolic business time.

I still hold onto my opinion that Rudi was vastly overperforming in Tuchel's system/presence, but credit due, he had one thing that we sorely lack now - he was freaking annoying. You are right that pace of mind is a great help for CB and he was somewhat providing it to entire team, stripping our rivals of it - he would fight, he'd be menace to opposition, he'd be shithousing all day long. KK did it to some extent in Serie A, but here it's completely not there. The "prospects" are fine, but new owner's vision is pushing us into ambitious 11 school choir boys, while on our level, we should aim into team of 11 cold pros or 11 Diego Costas (or mix of both). It's been said million times here already - we lack mentality way more than we lack skill or talent.

Yaya, 70+addons, unless ofc, Pool, United or City calls, then it's magically more like 35 and kiss goodbye.
