Wouldn't be surprised. He throws all of them under the bus and never takes accountability himself.
-
Lol teams just cut through our midfield yet we haven't signed anyone there
-
Back four tonight. Him just having the ability to play it would be a plus to me. I know when we play our normal shape we just run 6.
-
Really think his next step is becoming a better 8. He needs to be able to fill in that position because he's not a great winger. If he becomes a better box to box midfielder I think that would help us tremendously. To me he seems to have the build for the makings of an 8 but hasn't developed defensively like I thought he would.
-
That's why myself and a lot of other people just wonder why we're so one dimensional. Against better teams we'll have chances to counter and I actually like our formation because we need the coverage. Against teams that barely send numbers forward to be conservative? We still play the same way and they're probably glad we do. We went on a unreal run of defensive football when we won the champions league. The offense has never clicked so sooner or later Tuchel is going to have to figure something out.
-
I would still keep him and not loan him out. The potential is there but he seems to be his own worst enemy at the moment. He'll get better. Not like our midfield depth is great or anything..
-
3 points is great. Going to need every point we can get and what seems to be a much more competitive season than last. That being said we've beat two bad teams and we badly need changes. No clue why LC didn't press the shit out of us after we went down one man, that second Sterling goal they basically watched us pass it up the field. Gave Jorginho too much space and that's when he's a pretty decent player. It's time to give Broja a chance and bench Havertz or Mount for a game, they're not providing anything.
-
Mendy James---Azpi---Silva---Cucurella Kova - Jorginho Mount------Sterling-----Pulisic Broja Not going to happen...just sick of watching the boring 3-4-3 while we're still struggling and conceding...
-
Pool just need to move TAA to the midfield
-
Leeds the type of team to give us trouble with their constant pressing but what's more alarming is the team seems to have no passion or confidence. I'm glad people are starting to shoulder some of the blame on Tuchel and realize it's more than just signing a bunch of players. Yes, we need some world class players but TT literally plays the same way because we won the champions league two seasons ago. Just press the shit out of us and our attackers will have to play out of position anyways to help come back for the ball. It's early but this season will be a lot harder with how Spurs and Arsenal have improved. Tuchel needs to take accountability and stop blaming certain situations and players. He's not getting sacked anytime soon but it would be nice to see some changes? I'm worried he'll go and sign Auba for 30m+ as a panic buy now...
-
Auba is such a panic buy if we pay anything substantial for him. I can't see him fitting in our system at all and he's easily disinterested if he's not getting a lot of scoring chances. At 33 he'll be expected to press and play as a lone striker. Don't see that boding well with his ego. Why can't tuchel just give Broja a chance? Part of a managers job is to instill confidence and help young players take that next step...
-
Definitely agree. I think Magic Lamps pointed out that the chances of us contending for a title is slim without a legit striker. Our system is begging for it because we don't create enough chances. Our shape is made to have a strong defensive structure so how much do we need to spend on defense here? Would love Fofana but I'm only overpaying for a world class striker or Midfielder and those are rare. Being patient and not getting into more bad signings is what we need. With what we currently have we should definitely finish Top 4. If Tuchel can't find a way to do that then he has no excuses regardless if we make more signings or not.
-
Definitely would have loved Raphina but I can also see why wingers don't want to play in this system. They don't have the same space and leave the width to the wingbacks so you don't have as many chances to take players one on one. Wish we were more diverse offensively depending on the situation and opponent. Sterling has experience playing centrally so that was a great pickup. Doesn't look like anything will change so we really need a striker before anything else in attack.
-
Not surprised at our offensive struggles. It's going to continue vs the bottom table teams. When you deploy three CBs against a team looking to park the bus it doesn't make much sense. I've always loved the 343 against teams like City and Liverpool because you know they'll be aggressive and you'll have chances to counter. Against Everton, why don't you put an extra man in the midfield or in attack initially? Then if you grab the lead and it gets late I have no problem playing with an extra defender. We're just way too predictable to play against. To play this formation week in and week out we need a new midfielder with an ounce of creativity and a proper striker for it to work. If not expect a grudge match on most weeks against anyone. We'll take the three though...
-
All our signings will still be cheaper than the Ferland Mendy futties SBC
-
If Boehly treats Chelsea like he does the Dodgers then the spending will never stop. Doubt we will ever have a quiet window with him if the team still has needs.
-
If the price is right I would take him for this season. Striker position could be dire if we stand pat so why not?
-
Hopefully Tuchel makes this work and doesn't get sacked. We'll potentially have an abundance for wingbacks because it doesn't look like we're moving away from three in the back anytime soon. For his system to work offensively you need a creative midfielder to drive the ball forward and a number 9 who can hold the ball and pick out passes. Harry Kane is a prototypical 3-4-2-1 striker but too bad those are rare. Lol
-
Can't tell what his true position is...He's pretty much flashed talent in every department necessary but is way too inconsistent to lead the line. Players like Cho, Puli, Ziyech are true wingers that partly struggle due to Tuchel's system. The wingbacks get to have all the fun out wide but with Kai I'm not even sure where he's best suited to play... We will struggle to score all season again because of the same players and the same spineless tactics...
-
Have you been watching season six of BCS?
-
To me TT is part of the problem ATM. He will always deserve credit for picking up after Frank and winning us a CL title. I've said it before, he may have been the only manager who could have achieved that feat with how bleak things were at the time. He noted that the same issues are happening because we have the same players, I do believe some of that is true but aren't a lot of these the same guys you won the CL with? You can't take all the credit when it goes well and throw all your players under the bus when the morale is low. He's deflecting blame, not taking any kind of accountability for our struggles last season into this preseason. Why do some of his former players not want to come here to play with him? Guys like Dembele and Kimpembe were available but both adamantly said no. Now of course there are other contributing factors but why do so many current players also want to leave? Rudi, AC, Azpi, Alonso, etc. Call them bums if you want but Rudi and AC played key parts defensively. To me it's alarming and TT wants to blame everyone but himself. The manager has a big part on why a player wants to sign or resign here and he doesn't seem too popular at the moment. Name one player you can really say has been elevated offensively under Tuchel? Mount was already on his way to being a star but yeah go ahead and give TT credit for his rise. We started off last season looking like title contenders and eventually we struggled against everyone. Sure you had injuries but some of those losses/draws were against bottom table teams with half the talent. All our attacking players seem to lack confidence with Tuchel, like they're walking on eggshells each time they're out there. With how shitty the creativity in our midfield is, these attackers have to come back for the ball and barely get to just focus on making runs and positioning. TT decides to finally change the formation and try something new but he uses Chalobah and Emerson in a back four and wonders why it didn't go well? We are way too predictable until we improve the midfield and find a proper striker but also because of TT. I don't believe he has the mind to elevate an attack like we want to believe he can....I mean I hope I'm wrong but there's a lot of alarming evidence that there isn't even belief in the locker room he can improve the team in that department. I believe he deserves patience and given a whole season to see how we perform, but he also deserves to be criticized when things aren't going well. I see everyone get blamed except TT, it's the sanctions, it's the injuries, it's the players, it's the ownership.... In my opinion he has a lot to prove.
-
Don't seem like we're ready or have the right mentality to compete. Have to put some blame on TT as well as the players.
-
Timo literally just knows how to run straight. His linkup play and passing are terrible...
-
Barca really the Simon Leviev of this transfer window. What a shady club. Lol
-
Same attackers but also the same tactics that don't seem to produce much scoring. We better get a creative MF and hope our wingbacks stay in form because Tuchel doesn't seem like he's going to make any adjustments to our shape...
