  1. GFF is a BS source. It is like believing the Mirror or something.
  2. That is the biggest problem. I wouldn't say height is necessarily the main issue as you can have players like Wise, Scholes and Guttuso who aren't big players but are nonsense. For me, I actually want a CM who can add a bit more steel in CM and also get a goal or two. Wise/Scholes would actually have been great in this team. A player to use against the likes of WBA/Burnley etc, who he wouldn't allow to bully him or overrun him in midfield but could also add a good 7+ goals from midfield a season. That is ideally what we need as it is not that we just get out fought at times in CM, it it also that our CM do not score which is a problem when we face teams that put 11 behind the ball.
  3. Has anyone actually watched this kid extensively (by that I mean 10+ games of 90 mins (ideally of club football) and not stats and youtube?) I ask as I never make a judgement on a player unless I have seen enough of them and I feel that is an absolute minimum.
  4. Problem is we do need to sell some players as we have so many. Unfortunately, some of them are completely unsellable so there will be a few who go that many would've rather kept. The really annoying thing with Tomori is his price, as whilst not super low, it low in comparison what how he played at Milan. This said a 5'11/6'0 CB is always going to struggle in the PL unless playing in a 3.
  5. Yeah, I am more playing devil's advocate here than suggesting this as a real solution. However, I do think it could be something we look at if all of the following happens (note every single bit needs to happen): 1) Club gets a £35m+ offer for Zouma. For me they need to take this as he doesn't fit TT style and is in the final two years. Give him another year and his value plummets. 2) Both AC and Rudi refuse to sign contracts (I personally think AC will re-sign 100%, 70% sure on Rudi (could see him pricing himself out.) 3) Club spends serious dollar on Håland and Hakimi and don't have enough to get a Lacroix over the line. So, get Ramos for a year and bring one of Guehi or Ampadu back to learn from him and Silva. To be honest, this is more of a if we get ourselves into a pickle solution rather than, get him now.
  6. Håland is such an important purchase for us. If we can get him, that could be CF sorted for a decade plus.
  7. For sure it is unlikely. However, if the club can get £35m+ for Zouma (White has apprantly worth more than £40m) and one of Rudi/AC refuse to sign a contract extension we may need one. If all the dollar is going on CF/RWB/CM then Ramos may be ok. Obviously this is a real long shot and I am sure people would prefer someone like that Wolfsburg kid.
  8. But isn't that what we need? I mean against the big boys Kova/Jorgi/Kante work. When are CM has problems is when we play the likes of WBA/Burnley etc and they get physical with them and we can't break them down properly and have no goal threat from CM?
  9. Maddison is overrated. If they get £50m+ for him they should take it. Like Chilwell, if they get offers well over what they player is worth, they'll take the money and re-invest it wisely. Leicester are a well run club.
  10. Not sure what you mean about ability, as his left foot is the best one we have at the club. Additionally, his defensive positioning is largely to do with his pace (which is an issue) and how he gets told to get into the box as an attacking option. You give Alonso pace and virtually every criticism about him goes away. Anyhow, my point is those figures Nikki put up aren't really any different to those Alonso put up in his first four seasons and Chilwell also has a serious flaw in that he cannot use his right foot properly. That means our attacks break down a lot as he will just play a safe pass backwards whenever he has it played to that foot.
  11. Not entirely sold on Locatelli, I would say SMS is a safer bet if we're going for a Serie A CM.
  12. So, a similar figure to what Alonso, the Talk Chelsea whipping boy, was putting up, as an average, prior to this season?
  13. What is it with Italian clubs/managing directors. I mean with Tomori, all with heard from them since he got there is how great he is and how they think he is potentially a wc player. Then they're like, btw, can we lower that low £25m fee.
  14. Like I said, not a fan of right footers playing LWB. LWB isn't like an inverted winger, it is normally very important that they can use their left to get the ball in quickly.
  15. Depends. Currently we have two CB's in their last year and Zouma who doesn't fit. I would say if Zouma gets sold and one if AC and Rudi do not re-sign, then yes. If both re-sign or one does and Zouma stays, then no. I say this as we have too many players as it is, we don't need more in areas that are ok in.
  16. Who are we getting better than Alonso to play LWB? Emerson isn't any good in that role and I am loath to play right footed players there.
  17. Wait, what. €60m plus Alonso? That is a €75m+ offer.
  18. Don't see it. TT said 2-3 players that had to be CF, CM + RWB. Cannot see a need for a LB/LWF. I mean outside of the three mentioned GK2 and CB are need before that position.
  19. Oh, no! It must be true if it is coming from football.london!
  20. Well, then both need to go. However, contrary to peoples opinions on here, I think he does see Alonso as a handy squad player.
  21. We would only need him to cover there if both leave.
  22. I think he may actually be sellable. He had quite a good season he Belgium and I cannot see us asking for major money. I reckon he will be sold as at €3-€5m he is still in budget for a lot of people whilst he has the benefit of being a US player which brings some eyeballs.
  23. Yeah, I was just worried about the tone it was being read in, as sometimes saying something online can be taken in numerous ways depending on how it is being read.
  24. Alonso is so criminally underrated on here. Essentially he is a good player who gets slammed for one flaw (his pace.)
  25. Could see that being a bit of an issue. Alonso isn't everyone's cup of tea but I would argue when playing the likes of Burnley/Watford/Palace/Newcastle etc, he is more suited than Chilwell. I say this as he is much better at finding space and attacking the ball in the opposition box and we don't have to do much defending and when we do it is set piece defending which he is also better at. Of course if they make it equivalent to €25m+ then we have to consider it but I can't see us wanting to hang onto Emerson.
