You have seen how people have stuff they posted as 13-15 years olds held against them 10 years later right? Personally, I hope you're right, but I see a lot of people going mad if he gets a managers job.

https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/Chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2018/7/22/17599508/benzema-calls-out-di-marzio-lies-as-morata-remains-ac-milans-primary-target Di Marzio got called out for his BS by Benzema himself. There are plenty of other examples of him talking absolute nonsense but I cannot be bothered to go through his twitter to point them out. I mean, who the feck is that? First time I have ever seen him. What credentials does he have to know the inner workings of top level football transfers? Not being funny but 99.9999999999% of stuff on twitter is total and utter bollocks. The idiots running those accounts just write whatever to get clicks and shares to get the $$$$ rolling in. Unfortunately there are enough people who don't question why a player/agent would talk to a complete non entity about a multimillion confidential deal for them to only go and share it with their 100k/millionw of 'followers'.
-
That is outrageous, no way would UEFA/A club get away with that in Europe. Well tbh, this makes sense. Get an agreement with the agent/player and allow PSG to negotiate the price. At that point we can match it or walk. Tbh, we work best when we just meet fees. When we negotiate it always seems to either take forever or we don't get it done. As for Di Marzio, he talks pure BS. Anyone putting any stock in his tweets are being silly. He may get it right, but that will be due to him guessing, he doesn't know squat.
-
As I said, I am not putting any stock is people like Di Marzio or some random City twitter prat. Once it is announced by someone reliable and/or it is done, then people can get annoyed.
-
Palace? Only issue I see JT having is his run in with Anton Ferdinand. Anyone who employs him as a manager will be accuse of supporting a racist. Being a defensive coach/No.2 is one thing, being manager is another.
-
This has the potential to age very badly. Not saying Granny is great. I blame her principally for the 2017 fisaco and Kepa/TC but all the noise is coming from places we know are crap. No need to worry atm.
-
Di Marzio is a known BS'er. I will admit I am less confident than I was, owing to Romano saying PSG are close, anyone else is either repeating what he said or are talking out their arse. I mean seriously, who think footballers or their agents take time to talk to some random twat on Twitter about their multi-million deals? Unless news is coming from reliable board sheet jornos and/or Romano ignore it. I mean, remember last season when every Twitter twat said Werner to the Dippers was a done deal?

For sure. For us we need someone like Jorgi 80-90% of the time, it is the 20-10% of the time we/he has an issue and that is primarily due to the nature of the PL. Other than athleticism the only other issue we have with CM is goals and assists. As I said, I like Jorgi, and I rate all of our CM's. Our problem is more they're all to similar which is why I want Billy to go out on loan and get his minutes and then we bring him back in 12-24 months to replace one of Jorgi/Kova as I am not sure we need all three. Kante is obviously one of a kind so not expecting him to be directly replaced.
-
Can't signed big money players if you've got no money or a seriously reduced income.
-
The problem is when teams run at him as he cannot deal with it. This is something that is easily mocked as it can be gif-tastic. Personally, I quite like Jorgi, but there are definitely some games where it would be a better idea to play a more athletic player instead.

Who knows where Real will be in a year, at the moment there finances look crazy. Not sure one year of packed stadiums (if they're lucky) is getting them out of that hole.
-
Yeah, but what if the players they buy end up like a Morata. It isn't as simple as just having the dollar then buying players. They'll have to get it right. I mean they were in serious trouble this year for top 4, it was only because Frankfurt shat the bed and Wolfsburg's form fell off a cliff that they got 3rd and that was with Håland and Sancho.
-
Yeah, but someone still needs to pay for it. Roman is rich, but £1bn still leaves a hole in the pocket. That is even before we get to the fact that £1bn for our stadium is an underestimation. Spud bowl was meant to be £500m and went to over a bill and they didn't have to do such things as: Rip down existing site to build a new one on Excavate to the same extent (this also causes issues if anything is found of historical importance (possible).) Only have access from one road Have the building work occur in one of the most expensive areas of London. I mean feck me, the area around the Spud Bowl is like something out of a Mad Max film. Building access over a tube line (if something goes wrong with that it is a political and financial nightmare) This is even before we get to commodity prices currently (have gone through the roof, like 300-500% increases depending on the material) and wage increase. Pre-pandemic my uncle (a builder) was asking £200 per day now has work to next year at £2k a week. Best bet for Chelsea is that Hammersmith council take over Earls Court (they look like they will.) If they do, they will require an anchor tenant (they have admitted this.) We move there, build on a site that needs no excavating, is already flattened and has ample space/access and has much better infrastructure (it has three tube stops around it.) We then sell SB off or redevelop it for housing reaping serious £££££.

But you're forgetting Mbappe seems like a bit of a dick and is French. If he leaves on a free he is pocketing that money PSG are losing out on. He may like his hometown club, but when your owners are worth £1tn, and running your contract down results in an extra £100m for you, it is probably something most people would do if lucky enough to be in that situation. Double if the league you play in is pony and you want to play in competitive/more globally watched leagues (which further boost your money.)

Fear of missing out on CL without him? That is €30m-€60m right there.

Pretty sure a new stadium isn't all it is cracked up to be. More of a vanity thing. I mean look at the stats: Le Arse: top team, build stadium and become also rans as they were unable to keep pace in the market to finance their stadium. Spuds: £1bn stadium with cheese room but now most indebted club in the world. Best player wants out and they're getting rejected by every half decent manager. Then when they find a manager decide not to pony up. Real: going broke Barca: can only sign free players. I mean, feck me, they wouldn't even pony up £3m for Garcia in Jan in the mists of a CB crisis. Only team that has really worked for is Juve, but theirs wasn't even that expensive and is barely larger than SB. For me, priorities for players are as follows: 1) Project 2) Money (sometimes in reverse with 1) 3) Lifestyle of city/country (sometimes higher, depending on player) 4) Training facilities 5) Friends in the squad For me the stadium comes under those somewhere, I would argue ownership is 6. What needs to be remembered is the players spend most of their time at training of travelling. That is more important to them than how fancy the stadium they play in as a pitch is a pitch and they're not sitting in the stands unless they stink the place up. I mean in all seriousness the only real benefit to them would be to be able to play on a bigger pitch as the SB one is on the small side which makes low blocks harder to deal with.

You say funny, I say a nightmare. Don't need another 2017 again, that Summer was disastrous. I am personally amazed we have been able to recover from it so fast.
-
Yeah, they'll be telling Ziyech on one hand he is world class, whilst on the other asking us for a loan with us covering 50% of his wages.
-
Unless we're planning on pulling a Willian on PSG like we did Spuds, no it doesn't. Romano is the only Twit person I listen to.
-
If people were thinking they would've done the logical thing and moved the Euros to one country. Either pick one country that was hosting this year or give it to Germany and have this ridiculous one where everyone one is travelling around in 2024.
-
Of course Vesper, I wasn't including you, you've always got all bases covered when it comes it transfers 😉😘
-
Oh, for sure. My CM pick is SMS who isn't really mentioned on here apart from me. Maybe Gravenbach (or however you spell his name.) I have those down as I have actually seen them play enough (i.e. more than 10 full 90 mins) although I still have concerns about both in the PL. Personally, the real long term target should be Bellingham but that is at least two years away imo and if he keeps going at the same rate he will have the same sort of options as Håland (i.e. he can pick from all the best clubs in Europe.)
-
Geezer would be ahead of Chilwell in a 3atb system.
-
For me it is Håland or bust. If we do not get him, then roll with Tammy/Giroud we don't need anymore Batsh*t or Morata nonsense. At an absolute push, and this requires massive money rolling in for Tammy and a decent fee for Giroud (who I would keep regardless), maybe, go for Silva who has a reported €35m buyout. However, I am not even keen on that. I mean as I am writing this, I would say I may even prefer Giroud plus Broja and have Havertz play the false 9 all year. What we need to avoid is buying 'squad players'/'second options'. That shite has got us the likes of Sidwell, Boularouz, Drinky, Benayoun, Batsh*t, Zappa, Emerson etc down the years. No more of that nonsense please.
