Yeah, what ever happens we should under no circumstances buy 'squad players'. If we end up short just use youth or some of the loan rangers. Feck buying new Drinky's or Baka's. Have enough of those as it is.

Barca are such a joke. Greizmann should go full Borgarde on them if they try and shift him like he is a Pjanic/Arthur.

Oh, for sure, Dortmund are a nightmare to deal with. However, fundamentally they're a well run club financially so I am sure there is a cut off point. My guess is that the €175m/£150m sounds like it is in the right ball park, imho. I have always said, even when the links got strong four or so weeks ago, this is a 40-50% chance at best as Dortmund won't do it unless it is completely in their favour as they have proven with Lewa etc before. That 40%-50% also decreased weekly now the Euro's are over as the more time passes the more difficult it becomes to get players in and settled for the new season. Haha, fair enough!

Of course, it is their perogative, they can do what they want. I have outlined elsewhere that their value on him is probably based on a number of intangibles and know we have a weak hand. Personally, from having seen enough transfers there has to be a limit where the deal becomes too good to refuse. £150m seems like that sort of region; although i could be wrong. I mean, they may just not want to sell whatever, at which point you can say, what if we offer £200m and they ask for £1bn? As for Lukaku, if your happy to see us with a CF whose first touch is as bad as his, then I am not sure what to say 😅
-
Cannot blame him. It is all good being 20 and rated by the club, but if you keep going out on loan, you can end up being seen as just a Loan Ranger.
-
It is probably just economics. For Dortmund they have a value on what Håland is worth to them if he stays. There will be more than just his buyout fee next year minus whatever we offer. They will also take into consideration: Cost of replacement Cost of replacements wages compared to Hålands now. Eyeballs Håland brings to them Endorsement money Håland beings in directly Money at risk if he goes and they fail to qualify for the CL because of it I cannot say what it is worth and I doubt you can really pin it down into cold hard numbers as there are so many variables, however it is probably significant cost/risk for them. Additionally, Dortmund know we are desperate for a CF so they can milk us, like almost any seller would do to a buyer.

I don't want Lukaku so any news on him being 'untouchable' is good news to me.
-
Dortmund are capped by want they can demand. I think they're serious about £150m but I cannot see them starting to ask for £200m because of the buy out next season. If we offer £150m then that is the best offer they'll ever get as it is only 10.5 months before the clause kicks in.
-
Good news.

Varane is a funny one. Form has gone off a cliff in the past 18 months for no real reason.
-
Please don't post 2017 or Kepa's 2018 price as that was even more painful. At least these weren't absolutely insane prices.
-
Tbf, we could've got a pretty good profit on him after his first six months at Newcastle but the club quoted them £25m-£30m or something crazy.
-
Indeed! I will delete.
-
Dave and AC I think will re-sign. Zouma I see being sold this Summer. James isn't an issue with a 2025 expiry and Silva is 38 next season so not exactly crazy to have him on year to year. Rudi is the one to worry about imo.
-
Not Fjortoft. He is a grade 3 BS'er who posts anything to get clicks. He is just above grade 4 only as he does seem to know the Håland's.
-
Edited.

When I mentioned Newcastle it was partly with the idea their potentential Saudi owners take over. If that happens I can see them doing a spree like we and City did in the first few years of Roman/Dubai. Tbf, I didn't make that clear.

Sometimes it is better to let players go through the tribunal to decide the fee. That is what we did with Solanke and got more than the Dippers initially wanted.
-
I think Liva and Bate will be here, although may get the Solanke treatment when he decided not to extend. For me the club are right to look to sell RLC. Tammy is a bit of a funny one as I would keep him but he needs to accept a CF2 role while if someone comes in with £35m+ you've got to ask whether it os better to cash in as Havertz and Werner can also play CF2.
-
Not a fan either. I am hoping it is more of a sale with a fixed fee return price, which essentially makes it a glorified loan. It does make me think however, we want to raise cash for something. At the moment, we have raised: £4m - Moses £25m - Tomori £1.5-£3m (depending on source) Giroud £15m-£20m - Guehi That is £45.5m - £53.5m. We also have a number of other players we can potentially sell as well. Maybe it is to raise capital for Håland as he is going to be insanely expensive.
-
£15-£20m.
-
Question is, does he take the pay cut? Didn't they give him £200k a week or something crazy?
-
Surprising. Club must be wanting to raise cash, I don't understand selling him unless the sell on means it is virtually a buy back.
-
Be interesting to know what the actual offer was.
-
Well that is hardly surprising Fjortoft is a known BS'er. Where I stand on Håland is that it was always a difficult transfer to pull off. I think I rated it as a 30%-40% chance as Dortmund clearly don't want to sell. For me, the deal was never going to happen during the Euro's but I don't see us going all the way to the deadline to try and get it done. In my opinion, we have about three weeks to get it done with every passing week meaning it becomes less likely. I do think we will sign players this Summer and I think they will be good players, however I do think the club are prioritising selling players and getting extentions for players like AC/Rudi/Liva/Bate which makes sense as we have so many dregs and those four players are quite valuable.
