£130m wasn't ever doing it. Dortmund know what they have got and have a history of turning down money when they know one year down the line they will never get as much. It'll be €175m or not happening.
-
I just don't see it with Grealish. He is a very good player, but is he world class? I am really not certain. When I watch him he reminds me a lot of a more physical Joe Cole. That isn't a £100m player in my book.

As for the game, good first half then it all kind of fell apart in the second owing to the changes. Personally, not a fan of doing bulk changes in one hit. As for the players, I will focus on a few: RLC: Good first half were he played deeper. In the second were he got pushed forward a bit he was his usual self. CHO and Pulisic: Didn't do themselves any favours in a WB position as defensively they're not good enough. Grew into the end of the first half but wanted to see more. Sarr: Really bad. Chabolah: Thought he did ok. Sterling: Some very good flashes but a few silly positional mistakes. Don't see him staying. Bats: Needs to leave Tammy: Usual self which doesn't bode well for his long term future here. Mendy: Very good Rudi: Very good Zouma: Still struggling in a 3atb. Barkley: Very poor. Havertz: Excellent Werner: Typical self.

I thought he was really bad. He got caught out on a number of occasions and he gave the ball away a few times. Sterling also had to come across and bail him out on a really dangerous counter. Personally, I thought out of everyone, he was the worst with Barkley a close second.
-
Be interested to see where he ends up. Some rumours he may end up at Rangers if they get CL.
-
We do have a history of this so I am not saying this isn't happening again, however we need to see how things play out this month before complaining. Personally if we were laying out £100m for Grealish I would be going bananas.
-
Zouma is always like this when people decide to run at him and they're tricky/fast. It is the reason he is most likely to be sold. His game is best suited to physical football.
-
I am a big critic of his but he is playing really well bar one dire pass.
-
Yeah, not a fan of the hopes. Would've preferred pinstripes if they had to do it. Additionally, why black? Why not blue or green?
-
2019 is only a three year period, normally it would be run on five years, that that would be Summer's 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 accounted together. Additionally, bar last season, the club have run things pretty tight. Cannot see them going crazy again with another mega spend.
-
Not worth £100m.
-
Not sure we will have a £100m to spend before sales. I reckon it is more likely we will have somewhere between £30-50m after last seasons net of £100m. Cannot see us doing two seasons back to back. At the moment we have approximately £55m from fees and we probably can still get decent money for Tammy (if we do find a CF) and Zouma. Some of the following players will probably raise a little but I am not sure it will be as many as people think. Baka, Bats, Drinky, RLC, Barkley are all sunk costs in my opinion so don't expect anything other than a loan for them. Imo, we will probably have approximately £150-£175m to spend in fees. If Kounde is brought I think we can all forget about Håland.

Me currently waiting for some transfer news that doesn't eminate from some BS Twitter account.
-
The deadline was first week of Aug, so that is the whole of next week.

First of all I said £35m-£40m. Second, why can Brentford get £35m for a CF who hasn't kicked a ball in the PL, yet we can't for a 23 year old English CF who has a decent scoring record in the PL? As for teams, all the teams need a CF: Brighton Palace Newcastle Le Arse (If they sell Laca) West Ham You can argue some of those won't go near £40m (Newcastle, although they blew £30m on Joe Linton of all people.) So, it is not unreasonable to think this. Tammy may not be Chelsea level but he is capable of getting 12-15 goals a season at his current level (and he still has room to improve) and that sort of return would keep of those teams in the PL.
-
They know we have 8 WB's - Zappa, Baba, Sterling, Livra, Alonso, Emerson, James and Alonso - so are desperate to shift a number. Why pay if you can wait you can get him on loan?
-
Because Baka was an absolute disaster in the PL owing to its pace. Drinky, for all his faults was a half decent CM for Leicester for a number of years and was a key player in their title drive and played well for them in the CL. Baka in the PL was a disaster because he was never able to pick up the pace. On loan he has also not done that well, which is why everyone sent him back. Napoli fans were openly mocking him towards the end. People point to his run with Monaco but that was entirely down to Fabinho bailing his arse out all the time. Neither are great and I want a new CM, however if it does come down to Drinky v Baka (and Drinky has sorted his off the field problems to a reasonable degree) then I am taking him.
-
Not really imho.
-
Tammy at £35m-£40m is a fair price when you consider English tax, his goal record and age. Watkins last season went for £35m and hadn't kicked a ball in the Premier League, White has gone for £50m etc. Tbh, I reckon he may be slightly different to the others as he may be seen as a player that potentially stays if we cannot get a CF. I expect him to leave late. Barkley for me isn't rasing £20m+. He is a poor player on high wages. English tax may save him but anything over £15m I would be amazed at. Loan is much more likely imo. As for Zouma, plenty of teams will take him, he is probably dependent on Kounde. However, I rate him as £30m+ as he'll be a top player for pretty much any PL team outside of the top 6. What happens with: Baba, Zappa, Drinky, Baka, RLC, Emerson, Batsh*t et el, is anyones guess. Loans is my guess but with us probably having to eat some of their wages.
-
They can feck off for £20m. White went for £50m. Zouma is worth at least £30m. Isn't he also categorised as HG? Can't remember if he just missed out or not.
-
Just want to point out I was not suggesting Drinkwater should stay this season, more than the reason he is classed as a dreg, for me, is owing to his off the field problems rather than his ability on it. That said if it came down to him v Baka, I would be inclined to pick him.
-
His game against Stoke where he scored was his best. People seem to forget that the problem with Drinky wasn't really his ability level to be a CM3/4 (which is the role he pretty much came in for) but his drinking (and I presume) mental health problems. He isn't a world beater by any stretch of the imagination, but if he hadn't gone off the rails, he would've been serviceable against the weaker PL teams. After that, the issue was his fee and wages, which were just bonkers. However, between 2016-18 we did a number of bonkers deals.
-
Probably noticed Mendy is off to the ACoN and has noticed his competition for GK2 is Kepa.
-
Arguing about how if someone on the board can sanction £72m on Kepa then they're perfectly capable of putting down £150m+ on Håland.
-
I dunno, £70m for a unknown tiny GK with poor stats vs the mostly highly rated young pure CF since Fat Ronaldo, who had unreal stats doesn't seem that disproportionate. Problem however, is that the club clearly fecked up with Courtois (and what ever other GK targets we had) so panicked, lost their sanity and went all in on a funsized GK.
