I actually don't look at Fabregas as our midfield general at all because he's not that sort of player. He's more of a playmaker than a general. He lacks the physicality for you to call him a lynchpin or general. A midfield general would be someone like Vidal, Ballack, etc. They all have one big thing in common - physicality. You shouldn't expect that from Cesc. We can't dominate against big teams because we don't set ourselves up to - and because we don't have the right players to. It starts from the back - our centre backs are generally not good at building from the back - the only player that can actually make plays from deep in midfield for us is Cesc too. We have a massive lack of possession-comfortable players for us to go out there and dominate against big teams.

By far his best performance for us. Originally wanted us to sell him because he just didn't seem to get any sort of playing time and whilst his value would still be relatively high we should cash him but if he can produce performances like this consistently then he can easily change my mind.

This runs much deeper than Cesc. We set up to counter attack as a team. We were never going to dominate possession and build up play from deep.

He had a decent game, all the saves he made are saves you expect him to make. Disappointed with the second goal however, got his angles all wrong. As a GK you shouldn't really get beaten at the near post like that if you do the basics right and take the right angle to come out.

He was taken off cos he was unfit IMO. He was having an okay game. I expect a lot more from him though.

Disappointed that Courtois conceded that. Shouldn't have got beaten from that angle. Okay-ish result though, we could've scored at least 1 more. I fancy our chances at the bridge against these lot.

Criticism is fine - saying that we should sell him and cash in on him is ridiculous though - as it was with Costa beforehand. I'm literally waiting for him to get back into form again and then wouldn't be surprised that the same people that were advocating to sell him will now call him the 3rd best in the world again.

I agree - I'm not saying that he is. I'm just saying that he could be something like that for us at the very least - you know; 10 goals, 10 assists sort of squad player. He does have potential to be more effective and consistent than Salomon though.

Where were Costa & Fabregas under Mourinho as well? They look completely different atm. Give him time.
