  1. Torres has good movement, your judgement's just being clouded. For Spain in the Euros, Torres made so many good runs, if Spain were more penetrative they would've got a lot of good goals. And again, people seem to discredit what Torres has done in the last few months. He hardly looks like that player lacking in confidence. In the last couple of months Torres has scored quite a lot (10 goals for CFC and Spain since RDM took over if I'm not incorrect) and if anything is to go by, Torres will have a decent season. Torres still has a quality finish IMO. As Zolayes said, just wait for the season to start and if he does shit then fair enough. Atleast give him a chance to rectify himself. This is the guy's last chance, let him actually do something with it before shooting him down already.
  2. Christ, the season hasn't even started yet and he's already "finished". As many have said this is Torres' last season to actually impress, if he doesn't then we move him on. The season hasn't even started so we can't judge whether he's finished or not, not just yet anyway.
  3. I wish people would stop saying how bad it is that we let Borini and Sinclair go. Every club has let one or two youngsters go, who have flourished into great players. Look at United with Piqué and Guissepi Rossi for example. Players who've gone to be world class. Sturridge from City... It happens everywhere. Just because Borini and Sinclair made it doesn't mean we should give every youngster we have a chance. At the time people didn't even mind them going. What if Kakuta (a player many here want to dispose of) goes and develops into a great player? Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  4. Ayew's more like a Mata cross Malouda than a real pure winger. Since my mum's Ghanaian I've followed him from an early age, he really isn't a pure winger IMO. He plays on the LHS as well so he's not really an alternative to Hulk.
  5. I wasn't saying that Torres scoring a hatful of goals if he was at Napoli was a fact, of course that's hypothetical. I was saying it's a fact that Cavani performs at his best in a counter attacking team, hence the quoted post above.
  6. Does that mean if Hazard, Mata, Ramires, JT, Cech or whoever play shit we must get a new player in their position too?
  7. I would chop off my left bollock if we signed him. No. No. No.
  8. SWP really wasn't as bad as many make him out to be. He was useful. Moses will be useful too.
  9. A fact that many seem to overlook. If Torres was playing for Napoli he'd score a hatful of goals as well.
  10. City have Dzeko, Balotelli, Tevez and Aguero yes, but they always have two of them playing at one time. This allows them to have that many strikers. We on the other hand only play one. We can't have 3 strikers sitting on the bench, that's ludicrous.
  11. Marin is best out wide. He isn't as good as an attacking midfielder. Essentially he's our only winger, so the Moses signing would definitely add to the squad.
  12. That's what Whelan said about Moses. The Guardian are just being amateurish.
  13. Here's their game v Arsenal. http://www.motdgoals.com/2012/04/epl-full-match-arsenal-v-wigan-16-april-2012/
  14. Haha no, you've just got a shit smart phone!
  15. Get the S3 or wait for the iPhone 5!
  16. That's why they haven't won a trophy in 7 years. They aren't willing to take a risk and spend.
  17. A goal line clearance isn't luck, just great defending by A. Cole who has done it on numerous occasions. Our 4-1 win at the Bridge wasn't luck!
  18. We weren't really lucky against Benfica or Napoli IMO.
  19. I'd say Hazard is quite similar to Aguero actually, but Aguero just has supreme finishing, that's what sets him apart and allows him to play that second striker role more effectively. Just because Mata and Oscar aren't positioned centrally doesn't mean they wouldn't be as creative. That doesn't explain why a team of: Tevez Nasri - Aguero - Silva Works perfectly fine. Silva starts on the right or left or wherever but he still has a telling contribution in almost every game. I'm trying to say that perhaps Mata and Oscar could work in a similar vain, perhaps almost like a false ten role.
  20. I don't know I've been thinking, maybe we could play Hazard as a second striker rather than him playing a true number 10 role. The structure of the team would be something like: Forward Creator - Second Striker - Creator Sort of like how City play. They play Aguero in the number 10 role but he isn't exactly known for his creative prowess, more for his penetration in the final third. Maybe that's the plan for Hazard too, to have two creative players around him. Just like Aguero has Silva and Nasri flanking him, we can have Mata and Oscar flanking Hazard. Just a thought.
  21. Whilst I understand your concerns and agree with them, I think many on here need to understand that it's a matter of patience now. I commend the club for acquiring the right players to transition our static play into a more fluid, aesthetically pleasing one. However, we cannot expect everything to culminate together in a couple of days, especially when we haven't had our whole squad back. Oscar, Mata, Sturridge etc. haven't really had the chance to work on this movement, to work on the relationships between our players already here. We're missing two key players in Mata and Oscar IMO. When the pair of them settle down and integrate into the team the off the ball movement and the overall play will definitely improve IMO.
  22. Which helps us a lot. With Mata likely to return as well we have an even better chance.
  23. Exactly my point. How is getting a goal scorer going to eradicate that fact that we aren't playing well? If we're really desperate for a striker we can get one in January, simple. No doubt people wouldn't be saying that we need another striker if we had the option of Falcao, Sturridge and Lukaku. That's a reasonable proposition, but to have 4 strikers for 1 position seems absurd to me. Man Utd and Man City have the luxury of have 3/4 good strikers due to the fact that they play with 2 strikers more often than not. We don't, and we haven't for years. Torres hasn't been shaky for a while now. Since RDM has taken over, Fernando's been top scorer under Di Matteo plus he's won the golden boot at the Euros. He truly isn't as shaky as people are making him out to be. Sturridge isn't unproven to me either. The season before last he went to Bolton and became their top scorer for the period of time he was there. He came back to CFC and out scored both Drogba and Torres in the league whilst playing out of his natural position. To me that indicates he's more than ready to step in if Torres isn't producing. The only unproven one out of the three is Lukaku but I have a slight feeling the club might just keep him as the third choice striker. Again, I truly believe that the pressing problem is more with how we play rather than needing another goal scorer. Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku are good enough for me providing they all have a decent season. I don't see the use of purchasing a fourth striker, as even if we do send out Lukaku on loan, when he comes back we'd still have 4 strikers for one position.
  24. The future of football isn't going to be purely physical, nor purely technical. It'll be a hybrid. Players with great physical presence and excellent technique will start to show up.
