  1. I'm supportive of the signing simply because it's a great stop gap signing and he fills in a void in our strike force. The way he plays now, the new Eto'o, is the type of striker we lack; a technical striker. He doesn't need the speed or dynamism (even though he still has plenty of that) that he used to have because his game is more refined now to being a technical striker. It has nothing to do with whether Mourinho or Benitez is signing him. It just makes sense because we obviously can't get Rooney. A one year deal suits everyone.
  2. He'll start more often than not. We didn't pay £30m for him to have him as a squad player.
  3. RVP and Henry were strikers that had capabilities to play up front. Schurrle is a wide player that has capabilities to play out wide. It really isn't the same.
  4. Eto'o Hazard - Mata - Willian Lampard - Ramires Cole - JT - Luiz - Azpilicueta Cech Lukaku Schurrle - Oscar - KDB MVG - Mikel Bertrand - Cahill - Ivanovic - Essien Schwarzer Wow.
  5. Well it's official. He's a quality addition to the squad but wasn't exactly needed. Nevertheless he gets my full support as any new Chelsea signing will get. He'll be a good player for us because he's quality, but we'll have to loan out a player (most likely Moses) for this to fully make sense to me. Welcome to CFC Willian. Looking forward to having another fro in the team .
  6. The way people just reduce Mata as a player on here because he doesn't have the apparent defensive work rate or athleticism as our other attacking midfielders is quite sad. Creatively, none of them are on Mata's level. Mata's is one of the best number 10s (if not the best) in the world for me, and to see that people are now starting to entertain the idea that we'll still be well off without him (not completely denying that this isn't true because obviously no player is bigger than the club) is sad to me. It is clear Mata is very happy at Chelsea and is enjoying his time here, he's on the way to becoming a legend here. Like I said before, I can't wait till he gets to 100% match fitness and starts reminding people how good he is again, it's like many have forgotten. It's sad to see our best player over the last 2 seasons under appreciated like this.
  7. Ramires: Has completed the most accurate passes (197) in the Premier League this season http://t.co/KrHkOlugtP
  8. Delighted if true. Martinez would've bossed our pivot.
  9. Rooney, well played. Fair play. Raped United once more.
  10. I think it's far wiser to spend little on an experienced striker like Eto'o who will bring something new to our squad as a stop gap which will enable us to go for a proper striker again next season instead of spinning £35m on a striker who's similar to what we've got already.
  11. I'm saying he should've come on yesterday because he would've offered more than Torres, I'm very certain of that. However I agree that the knee jerk reactions about him going out on loan and stuff are over the top.
  12. Monaco really building an insane team. Great transfer for them.
  13. Conveniently ignore the Azpilicueta example won't you? My point is that most of the Confed Cup players have barely played to begin with.
  14. You're not getting me at all. I'm not saying that everyone outside the top 6/7 clubs is a ridiculously bad player. A club like Chelsea shouldn't be having a striker that's just good enough for only the clubs outside the top 6/7 clubs in the league. Most strikers in the top 6/7 clubs absolutely crap on Torres. You're acting like its a good thing that Torres isn't even good enough to be a striker for a top 6/7 team.
  15. Which is still ridiculously bad.
  16. Similarly to Mata, Luiz and Azpilicueta who were all involved in the Confederations Cup. Give it a rest already.
  17. Really can't wait for him to be in the team regularly again. At no. 10. Missing his creative genius.
  18. He was playing as a number 10/second striker. Lol.
  19. He's okay but he isn't that sort of striker. No point in changing his game, when what he does best is being on the shoulder of the last defender, trying to break the offside trap with his explosiveness. He's a poacher, we shouldn't turn him into something he's not.
  20. We've already got two players who can play as a target man (Ba, Lukaku). We are not a team that relies on crosses. A target man doesn't really work well with our team. The way Bayern and United are set up is different. Our team is meant to be more focused on the intricate play between our front four, which is exactly why Mourinho wanted Rooney. He's a really good striker but he doesn't offer what we need. We don't need to sign a striker just for the sake of it. He needs to be the right sort of player.
