  1. Eto'o's achievements with his teams blows Torres' out of the water but that doesn't matter - you were saying Torres had a better career when he clearly didn't, and that was the only reason I posted his achievements. Not because I wanted to, but simply because your argument that Torres had a more decorated career is obviously flawed. The achievements don't lie. You telling me Eto'o isn't one of the most decorated football players of all time either? The African Player Of The Year award, which pits Eto'o and Drogba against each other - has Eto'o winning it the most times in history - he's actually number 1 on the list of most awards won. So it really isn't "hilarious" for anyone to say Eto'o is the greatest African player ever. But whatever, I think it's best we just leave it here because the argument is obviously going off topic. I didn't say I think Eto'o is the best African footballer of all time - all I said is that many people think so. It isn't my personal opinion. Regardless, both are certainly worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as Abedi Pele, Milla and George Weah.
  2. What? So you think that Torres has had a better career than Eto'o? Torres only had 1, maybe 2 really good seasons. You can't compare that to Eto'o's career at all. Let me remind you of Samuel's club achievements: 3 Champions League titles: 2006 (in which he was MOTM), 2009, 2010 3 La Liga titles; 2005, 2006 (top scorer), 2009 1 Serie A title: 2010 2 Copa del Rey titles: 2003, 2009 2 Coppa Italia titles: 2010, 2011 2 Spanish Supercup titles: 2006, 2007 1 Italian Supercup title: 2011 How anyone could say Eto'o, whom many regard as one of it not the greatest African player ever hasn't had a better career than Torres is really beyond me. Eto'o has definitely had the better career by far.
  3. We didn't play counter attack against Everton. It's a myth that Mourinho has a set system for the squad.
  4. What? I'm not sure if you're trolling or not. Eto'o never been the better footballer? That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Where the hell have you been in the last 2 and a half years?Torres has one of the poorest ball controlling skills in the whole squad, have you not seen how often he loses the ball? He's nowhere near Eto'o's level. To say he has better dribbling skills as well is mind baffling and to say you think Eto'o isn't an aerial threat means that you obviously haven't watched him enough at all. How does better "communication" make him a better footballer? Torres is one of the quietest players on the pitch. Not sure what you've been watching. Torres has NEVER been a technical striker. When it comes to pure footballing skill, Eto'o is miles ahead, don't know how anyone could think otherwise. I'm not going to say much because I'm genuinely baffled how anyone could (especially a Chelsea fan who's endured crap over the last two and a half years) think Torres is the better footballer... That's similar to saying Torres is better than Drogba. I'm just going to let Eto'o do the talking himself over the course of the season.
  5. Are you serious? In what way is Torres technically better than Eto'o?
  6. How many times do you have to regurgitate the same stuff? It's all you've been saying in the last few pages. Give it a rest already.
  7. Would love it if Josh or Chalobah featured in this.
  8. It's way too early for anyone to say whether this isn't a squad Mourinho can do damage with. At least give him a season.
  9. No one is saying Luiz didn't make a mistake though, don't get it twisted. It's just that some are saying he's the main culprit for the goal which I disagree with.
  10. Don't like how the analysis is making Luiz the biggest culprit. Completely disagree with the "ball watching" comment on Luiz. THIS is why Luiz left his position - because there was a gaping gap that Everton could've exploited and none of our midfielders seemed to be aware of such - so if Mikel or Ramires had simply filled that gap, Luiz doesn't go up to try and fill it. He wasn't ball watching, but was actually trying to fill a huge gap our midfielders left. Yeah, it proved to be a mistake, but the mistake was followed by a series of mistakes Cech, Mikel and Ramires initiated, which Luiz tried to fix. It was a mistake from many players, and Luiz wasn't the biggest culprit at all in my opinion - yeah he was a bit rash but it was just a bad defending overall, a lot of people were out of position and made mistakes. It wasn't his adrenaline, it wasn't him ball watching - he was rather unsuccessfully trying to fill a huge gap that no one in the team seemed to have picked up. So there, I've solved your Luiz conundrum.
  11. The difference last year was that we didn't have a squad to cope with all of those games, and now we do. Last year and the year before are so different to this year - in previous years we had the likes of Benayoun, Marin, Malouda etc. on the bench and now it looks a lot different. Regarding this season it's still fairly early in the season and our team is still taking shape - it's been a slow start but it's way too early to make concrete conclusions. Look at the last few years where United have won the title - they always start extremely slow but when the business end of the season approaches is when they really perform. Similarly, look at our start last season - and look how our season ended. As I said before, there's no reason to panic.
  12. Didn't you say you only only watched 30 mins of the game? Or have you rewatched it now?Regardless, whether you like it or not, JOM was still our best player yesterday, and the majority seem to think that too going by the MOTM poll.
  13. Azpilicueta has to start for me. He has to get game time at some point.
  14. Not sure what game you were watching but Barkley wasn't threatening at all. Like it or not Mikel pretty much had him under control for almost the whole game.
  15. We have one in Ramires. We didn't have a problem in midfield yesterday, it was simply us failing to finish our chances. Everton scored because of mistakes made by a few players, not through genuine ingenuity. We score half of our pretty clear cut chances and we win the game easily. We didn't play bad.
  16. So you're telling me Barry's tackle was completely irrelevant? I'm done man there's no point discussing it - you think Eto'o is useless, I don't - we'll just leave it there.
  17. I see you keep on bringing up the "open goal" he missed - he didn't even miss it so that argument is void IMO. It was a brilliant piece of defending from Barry and Barry deserves the credit for stopping the goal; it really wasn't like Eto'o missed it with no one pressuring him or anything hence why I think you're completely overreacting and completely underrating Eto'o's finishing ability. Eto'o is one of the most lethal finishers that has ever played, and sometimes you just have an off game in that regard. It happens to every striker which is why I say you can't really say he's useless after one game.
  18. Disagree that one of our main problems was "finishing" last season, especially for our strikers. Last year we barely created enough clear cut chances for Ba and Torres. It was usually a goal from midfield that won games from us - and that was because our attacking midfielders were in better positions to score than the two aforementioned more often than not, not because our strikers had 3/4 chances to score in in most games. I honestly can't remember the last time Torres had 3 or more pretty clear chances in a game and that tells you a lot.
