He's not good enough to start at CFC. Who's he going to start over? Pedro? Oscar? Hazard? Willian? Even Boga and Musonda are far more talented. That's without stating Traore and Kenedy as well. All of these guys are better than Piazon.

Why do we have to look outwards for a squad player though? If we're not going to buy a player that'll at least challenge the starting CBs then what's the point? Why did we loan out Omeruo, or Kalas who could've provided that squad depth? Why don't we just demote Ivanovic to 4th choice CB? Chalobah? It doesn't make much sense to me tbh. I don't think it's as black and white as saying Nkoulou and no Stones next summer or Djilo and Stones next summer either. We need to sign good players that can step in at any given time and ones that can actually challenge their team mates to a starting spot. Nkoulou has 1 year left, he'd be cheap. He comes in and directly threatens our starting CBs and would provide excellent cover alongside with Zouma. Long term wise - JT, Cahill and Ivanovic are all over 30. Signing Stones and maybe shifting someone like Ivanovic out next season whilst keeping Zouma and Nkoulou? Proper depth. So, this season we go with Ivanovic, Nkoulou, JT, Cahill, Zouma, Azpi, Baba. Next year we go with Stones, Zouma, Nkoulou, an older JT, an older Cahill, Azpi and Baba. Looks good to me.

He's a very exciting prospect. Reminds me a lot of Henry. Way too pricey though.

My problem is that there's surely better players out there. Someone mentioned N'Koulou for Marseille who has a year left in his contract...

What has happened to his vision? Can't tell you how many times Pedro and Costa made good runs off the ball but he just didn't even look at releasing it into them and instead dilly dally'd on the ball...

It must've looked bad on TV but I can tell you that Diego was being targeted very unfairly by Delaney and the referee wasn't doing anything about it all. You can't blame him for the shit that's going on behind him either. Did he even have a decent through ball to latch onto?

Just got in from the Bridge. Absolutely diabolical performance. I'm a big fan of his but Fabregas was an embarrassment, doesn't look like he cares much at all. Hazard looks completely demotivated, why I don't know. Our two most creative players are struggling immensely, completely out of form. We're struggling to create anything going forward. I felt Diego tried very hard, everyone at the Bridge commended his effort - must say that Damian Delaney is a little shit for constantly trying to rile Costa up off the ball. Costa tried hard but those behind him just weren't feeding him at all. We have no impetus going forward at all. Even Falcao's goal came out of the blue. Only positives of the game for me were Kenedy's awesome debut and RLC's solid performance when he came in. They both definitely changed our game and gave us more drive. Jose took the wrong men off for them though. It should've been Fabregas and that RB of ours. How bad was Ivanovic? I can't comprehend it. He gets absolutely walked over on that right hand flank and is an awful captain. There's no leadership from him at all, he seems way too passive and is severely out of form. Mourinho needs to drop him, seriously. Starting to lose a lot of faith in him. We're playing turgid football. Since the start of the year we've been going on a downhill slope and Jose hasn't rectified it at all. We look absolutely clueless going forward. Damian Delaney is an absolute prick. He kept on constantly trying to rile Costa up off the ball, not sure how it looked like on TV but Diego worked his socks off today and was the only attacker that looked decent. He didn't have anything created for him at all though.

Nope. Not today. He lost the ball a lot today, he's not match fit. Good goal, but Diego definitely led the line a lot better today. Diego was feeding off scraps, didn't get proper supply today.
