Just saw around 20 pics from training today and no one who had the game the day before (Tuesday) participated in it except Mount. It is normal to have day off after the game so Chris, Giroud, Kante, Kovacic, CHO, Gallagher, Michy and even Abraham who was on the bench for England were not in Cobham but Mount still came... Obviously he has amazing mentality and lets see where his work rate is going to take him. Guys like CHO and others imo have much more talent but if only they have this kind of determination. And Mount had great start of the season last year but than disappeared for a long period of time, can this be the reason? Maybe he needs to chill a bit with training, can Frank tell him to take a damn day off?

So if Kepa has good game here does Frank drop him for Liverpool for Mendy or he continues with him?

Pretty much we got confirmation today about our formation and what Frank wants. He was speaking about Havertz as AM and how he plays more advanced than what he used to play. Matt Law also said that we are looking for another DM to make workable double pivot which we do not have at the moment with any possible combination. So the rumor that Frank wants to play with solo DM and two number 8s is not true it seems. Rice last two seasons played only DM, never CB. I think Frank wants Rice-Kante with Havertz advanced. It is hard to accept Kova being benched but this is what it is...

But I don't think the position is in desperate need of a player there currently. We'll wait for Rice until next year if need be rather than signing someone just to sign them. Rice has 4+1 years left on contract. So basically till 2025. Nothing is going to be different next summer. We have FFP relaxation this season so it does not matter if we sign him now or next summer. This is why I think we will go all in for him very soon...

With 5 starters out: Mendy, Silva, Chilwell, Kovacic and Ziyech and basically no pre season I just want 3 points, do not really care about playing pretty or anything.

I also think that Pulisic wont start after just 4 days of training. But Jorginho for Barkley and this should be our lineup.

From Leverkusen fan: According to a German report, Havertz "renounced" part of his salary in order to make the deal happen. Apparently, in his Leverkusen contract there was a clause that saved him 10% of the signing fee when he moves. So he'd get 10% of the initial fee, then 10% of the add ons etc. However, he seems to have renounced on part of his share of the initial fee since Leverkusen and Chelsea struggled to reach an agreement there and instead accepted a higher share of the add ons as compensation. So he's not really renouncing money, he's rather accepting a higher risk to get his share of the add ons but still, he seems to be really committed. The same report also mentioned that Havertz is really impressed by Lampard and his vision for Chelsea.
