  1. Tuchel doesn't run the club. Boehly, who's focus is solely on self sustainability, will not see a player who's now injured 50% of the time and his main strength diminishing (athleticism) still earning 300kpw as a cost effective strategy.
  2. If Jorginho and Kante leave should we not simply replace them with like for like, such as De Jong and Bissouma? Add Gallagher to the mix and a decently priced DM, we should be sorted?
  3. He didn't. He picked Rio in a recent interview with Carragher.
  4. Its mental how many times people need to spell it out. Conte's Football. Is. Not. Sustainable. They will beat Liverpool one week and draw to Burnley the next. When you shift your tactics week after week, the rhythm of play is disrupted.
  5. He then tried to justify it by saying Terry played in a lower block and that he and VVD could play in any system, to which the fans on twitter bombarded Rio with Terry's attacking metrics shitting all over Rio's. The fact VVD had a sly dig at Rio when he picked himself as #1 and the confusion when he picked Terry #5 says it all. I'm not a fan of Terry as a person but I am not going to ignore the 11-12 years of elite consistent performances he dished out. Terry won the league at 35 and made it to the bloody TOTS. What did Rio do at 35? Carragher seems to be the only one with any bollocks to call it out as it is. Terry is genuinely the best in the PL era and arguably one of the best CBs in the modern era.
  6. I'm sure he can but at what cost? Italy won the Euros but this is also the same Italy that failed to qualify for the world cup. 2nd straight time. 7 defensive minded players on the pitch with only one coherent attacker (Chiesa) I think we have done the best we possibly can with Jorginho in the XI.
  7. But international football is vastly slower than the Premier league. It's more tactical. Same with Serie A. It has 40 year old's winning the golden boot so that gives another indication of how slow the league is in comparison to the Prem.
  8. Just going off what I am hearing from Palace fans.
  9. Just happy he has his European cup. A player of his former calibre deserved one.
  10. I'm hearing he's had a poor/average 2nd half to the season.
  11. So when this bloke retires and has won fuck all to his name I hope fans of the sport do in fact hold that against them. You seal your own fate by doing these contracts and its the very reason why Gerrard rightly deserves to be less thought of in the Prem compared to Lampard, Vieira, etc.
  12. I'm not even entirely convinced Gavi is even better than Gilmour. Gilmour would shine in La Liga given the freedom he'd be allowed.
  13. Hilarious how Rio tries to conceal his massive insecurities. Putting himself as #1 and trying to justify it by saying he could play in any era and in any system as if he knew he'd get backlash (and rightly so) from where he put Terry. Saying Terry played in a low block whilst at the same time failing to answer why Terry had better attacking and overall metrics than him. I don't remember Puyol having any issues in playing a high line and he was as slow as Terry. His ability on the ball made up for it. Fact of the matter is Terry had 11-12 years playing at an elite and consistent level. Rio was lucky to manage 5. This is why Terry is regarded the best in the Prem.
  14. They want Alonso and Azpilicueta. Then Traore, Vidal, Paulinho, before them. Barca have no 'player' anymore.
  15. I don't care. He isn't going to play so having his shitty/sulky attitude poising the dressing room is out of the question.
  16. Arsenal's odds in finishing Top 4 next season are even lower than they were this season.
  17. Imagine keeping Werner and Lukaku but selling Broja.
  18. I'm more worried about his decision making in dangerous areas than his height, which to be honest isn't that much of a concern for me anyway.
  19. Hope Tuchel shows Boehly a compilation of misses from the attack.
  20. Can't cap off the Roman era without an another shit decision from the club.
  21. High hopes for Gallagher to be a success in a two man midfield when his success at Palace came at the ability to have free roam in a midfield 3, whereas in Tuchel's system the 2 central midfielders have to be disciplined. If we don't get a DM this summer then we will yet again continue to look frail in midfield.
  22. Think this photo along with the BBC report that the new ownership should be finalised in the next several hours has justified suspicions.
  23. All summer we wasted our time with Haaland and in fear we would then resort to Lukaku. We also had Monaco basically throwing Tchouameni to us for 40m and we ignored them. Again, I will only be optimistic if Boehly comes in and sacks the entire scouting department. Our transfer strategy since 2017 had no direction, vision, or long term plan. This is the reason we are so far off from Liverpool and City.
