  1. He was a top 5 all time worst buy in our EPL history IMHO. Torres being probably number one. I am sure you have your candidates too. Counting wages and fees, insurance, upkeep, he could cost us £70m or so.
  2. The offer is £300K pw, not 500K. Alexis makes £500k pw.
  3. £6m a year to ride the bench. Great job if you can get it. SMDH
  4. Of course, Wllian would fill a huge hole. I was willing to fill it for them IF we got Martial in return. Ideally, we should have sold Willian to Barca for £65m, then bought Malcom (he only ended up being £37m for Barca) and then dumped in another £45m or to the remaining £28m left over post Malcom and outright bought Martial. Sell Drinkwater (WTF!!!!) to cover some of the spend. We would have spent a net £15m to £20m or so and had Martial (22), Malcom (21), and unloaded deadweight Drinkwater. The team would so SO MUCH stronger than now. Our board is shit, sorry, but it is.
  5. It's crazy how little power most managers now have into the players they get. It's madness how a monster club like Manure have allowed their team to have a horrific back 4, shit for AMF, and not one true RWer, yet expect to still win league and CL. Add in the infighting between Mo and players ans it's a disaster waiting to happen. Lindelöf was a huge Mo bust. Bailly has regressed a tonne. The owners/board blame Mo and think their CB's and fullbacks are CL-winning level. They arent remotely close. Alexis was an extraordinarily expensive mistake. His salary is ludicrously high. £500,000 per week! That makes the £300k we offer to Eden look paultry in comparison. Zero clue why Manure agreed to pay him that much. Horrific business sense. I detest Mourinho, but he is being undercut in many directions. He also is a cunt when it comes to man management. That will do him in at Manure.
  6. Except Neymar is yet another LW. It's almost like RW doesn't even matter (in terms of actually signing new people) to the clubs we all talk about, including us. Manure doesnt even have a single real RW on the team, yet Mo is obsessive over LW Perisic for multiple windows. RM with Eden and Neymar. Atm there is a deeper amount of class LWers than RWers in the big leagues. Around a plus 20.
  7. If he refuses a new contract, we dont sell him, and he leaves on a free, whoever gets him only gets 4 months basically of a non 30yo Eden. His body has taken a pounding, moreso than perhaps any other major star in football over the last 8 years. I cannot see him playing at top level into his mid 30's. If Real wanted him they should have forked over the £200m on first day of the window, either this year or last summer. They will be far less hurt by never getting him than we will be if we have to sell him on the cheap or let him leave on a free in 22 months. Hopefully he just renews and says fuck it about Real. We NEED TO 100% MAKE THE CL for next year. It will be catastrophic to fail in that. Hazard will leave for sure and many of our players are ageing rapidly. Azpi turns 30 next summer, Luiz 32 in spring, Fabregas 32, Willian 31, Pedro 32, Cahill 33 in December, Giroud 32 in a month.
  8. There are so few options left for us at striker. Icardi, but we blew it by not hitting his £98m 2 weeks in July 2018 release clause (it goes up each year) Martial, another cockup with the failed Willian plus cash swap Ciro Immobile, who turns 30 in February 2020 (so long term contract issue), and if Lazio loses SMS next summer, zero chance they also let Ciro go in same window Then 2 speculative ones Timo Werner Andrea Belotti Both of whom have yet to show they are the long term real deals. If Werner shows huge this year, Bayern will grab him. That's it. All others will not be sold to us unless we bid INSANE money (and probably not even then, especially if we again have no CL) or are 30yo or older (Lewa, Higs, Cavani, Suarez, etc). It's basically Morata or bust, with Martial (put back to his original number 9 position) or a rebounded Belotti as only realistic alternatives. After that is basically rent an ageing star time. Plus we have all the other (or most) top 10 to 15 clubs to fight with. Wild card Lautaro Martínez 21yo Inter phenom. He looks spectacular so far. Inter might be willing to part with Icardi if he continues to progress. But I think Icardi 2019 RC will go up to £140m or so if he signs a new contract this year. Zero chance we spend that much, even if we have to sell Hazard next summer (the nightmare there is that we get raped Courtois-style with Eden, maybe only getting £90m or even less as he can leave on a free in 22 months). This season and next are also Hazard's last 2 full years before he too hits 30.
  9. Roberto Firmino scored 27 goals last year and had 17 assists. He is far beyond most strikers in the world in offensive output and talent atm. The only other strikers/secondary strikers I would rate over him atm are (in no order) Dybala, Mbappe, Kane, Greizmann, Icardi and maybe Lewandowski. As usual I leave out Ronaldo and Messi from debate.
  10. I cannot move from page to page on threads, and when I go the last page (or any page) it shows as this, and I cannot get back into the thread at all.
  11. Benzema had a 10 year run (ending in 2016/17) where he averaged almost 25 goals and around 12 assists per season, twice going over 30 goals. If we got that for 5 or 6 years out of Morata, I would THRILLED.
  12. We should have offered to swap him for Angus Gunn (plus cash if needed)
  13. https://www.viagogo.com/Sports-Tickets/International-Soccer/Barclays-Premier-League/Chelsea-FC-Tickets/E-2839143?qty=2 About to sell out - Only 16 tickets left warning, they aren't cheap mate my prices show in Swedish kronor, divide by roughly 12 to get quid price
  14. With De Laurentiis? He thinks it is permanent. he is trying to write Chelsea bans into all new Napoli contracts. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2791506-chelsea-transfer-news-elseid-hysajs-agent-addresses-blues-rumours The agent of Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj has addressed the speculation a Chelsea move fell through for his client this summer and denied reports there will be an anti-Blues clause in his new contract. Speaking to SportItalia (h/t Calciomercato), the representative, Mario Giuffredi, said he did not agree with such clauses: "Napoli disappointment? No, Napoli did what they had to do, keeping all the big names. Not doing much does not mean having a big market, sometimes the best market is to confirm your valuable pieces if you believe in your team. If then the best market for you is to change the whole team, I do not share it. "Ban on Chelsea in the clauses? I do not agree with it, I also told De Laurentiis the same. If there are clauses in the contracts they must be able to be exercised. In the coming weeks we will address the Hysaj talk for renewal, we had talked about it before the market. Then there was a talk with Chelsea and we stopped."
  15. Bristol City, the new Vitesse! with better music
  16. I don't understand how they let it slide this far. From age of 5 or so up until Fergie retired I have known nothing but Man U as the imperial Death Star.
  17. I think Jorginho is the biggest regret Pep has ever had on a transfer fail. I rate him that high. Thank dog City didnt grab him or they would be untouchable, now that Laporte has solved their CB issues (as I predicted). With Jorginho, they would have been a Septuple threat, even with De Bruyne out for a few months. Still may be. I think DMF zero depth may come back to biye them. Watch January window for them to rectify. Shocked they didnt make a move for Leandro Paredes. Also watch Jean-Philippe Gbamin (massive upside, I think might be a superstar), Julian Weigl, Santiago Ascacíbar (same as Gbamin), Rúben Neves, Danilo Pereira, Denis Zakaria, Nabil Bentaleb, and Diadie Samassékou.
  18. Its so funny they always are dealing with one of the very few great players they have (Pogba, and I know millions hate him, but I have always rated him, I know this makes me in a vast minority here) when they have HUGE HUGE HUGE issues with their back 4, who are RUBBISH. As a fellow Swede, it pains me to say Lindelöf is shit, but shite he is. Bailly is a massive disappointment, and they have fuckall in WC talent at the fullbacks as well. Diogo Dalot may be there someday, but he only turned 19 five months back. Their AMF's are shit (Mata!! LOLOL) and they have zero true RWers. The club is a fucking mess, and Mo is also a boil that needs to be lanced.
  19. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1006987/Real-Madrid-Transfer-News-Live-Updates-WIllian-Cristiano-Ronaldo-Chelsea-Gossip-Latest Marcos Alonso price set Real Madrid can sign Chelsea star Marcos Alonso if they meet the Blues’ £54million asking price, reports claim. Real Madrid know signing Alonso will be difficult given Chelsea are unable to sign a replacement until January at the earliest. However, the Blues are willing to do business if Real cough up £54million, Spanish newspaper AS say. AS say Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is willing to sell Alonso. However, in doing so, it would risk a row with Sarri. The new Chelsea coach reportedly feels Alonso is one of the most important players currently at his disposal.
  20. He also is a direct replacement for Hazard at LW. I tend to agree. The main problem with my scenario is Verane. RM will never sell or swap him until he is over 30yo. Maybe if Mbappe was involved.
  21. If you had 2 options next year from Real (this assumes a lot, in that Hazard needs to refuse to renew, and that Real would do this swap, which they wont, lol) would you take 1 Verane and Isco for Hazard 2 Verane and Asensio for Hazard I would do either and toss in Luiz or Fabregas plus cash too (if needed) for makeweight Hell, make it 2 for 2 and add Wilian plus Hazard for Verane plus either Isco or Asensio I will leave Kovacic out, and make that a straight buy
  22. He is a fool to not go on loan to Schalke. He would start most games (they lost Goreztka to Bayern and Max Meyer to Palace, both on frees) and have Champions League footie. This is their CMF and AMF, only Harit is top quality atm, new boy Serdar may be soon, McKennie even further down the road, but it is HARDLY the level of comp for time he has here
