  1. 'CARNAGE' Witness speaks of ‘Wild West’ brawl as Phil Foden’s mum is PUNCHED in scenes which ‘lasted for minutes after video’ https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17715961/phil-foden-mum-punched-fight-video/ PHIL Foden's mum was punched in a bloody "Wild West" brawl which rumbled on for minutes after video of it ended, a witness said last night. Shocking footage revealed by The Sun - and now being probed by cops - showed how Claire Foden was attacked after a group of men called her son a "c***" backstage following the Amir Khan fight. The England and Man City ace, 21, can be seen trying to fend off the yobs - while another man is seen using a fire extinguisher as a weapon. A witness described the scenes as “complete mayhem” and revealed the fight was actually worse than it seemed. The footage has been widely shared on social media. He told The Sun: "It was carnage. It was out of control. I've never seen anything like it before in my life. "I was in the next box and heard all the shouting and screaming so we went out to see what was happening. "It was crazy. Everyone was saying Phil Foden was there. "I saw a punch thrown. There was more violence than just what was caught on film. "Another man got punched after the footage came to an end. He was bleeding. "It was all kicking off. It lasted a few more minutes. "Security were called at one point and a lot of people ended up getting kicked out. It was unreal. "It was like a scene from the Wild West." The clip, which was filmed in a corridor of Manchester's AO Arena, begins with Foden appearing to be goaded following City's 3-2 defeat to Spurs earlier in the day. Reacting to the thugs, the footballer's girlfriend Rebecca Cooke turns and shouts: "Who you calling a c***?" The couple then walk into a private room at the arena following Khan's bloody defeat by Kell Brook. Foden's mum Claire is then seen walking out and asks the group: "Right, who's calling him?" One of the men replies: "No one." Claire says: "Right, then f*** off." She appears to push out at a man in a black jacket, forcing him back several steps, before the attacker steps in and takes a swing at her. It's not clear if the blow connects, but the 41-year-old reels back and a man in a black baseball hat steps in and punches out in her defence. Rebecca can be heard screaming: "Claire." Did you know the people involved? Email us at [email protected] or call 0207 782 4368. You can WhatsApp us on 07810 791 502 A brawl breaks out, with around seven people scrapping in the corridor. The man in the baseball cap grabs a fire extinguisher from the wall, lunging towards the blond man. It appears as if he tries to smash him over the back of the head as he walks away. The brawler in the hat then lunges out with the appliance twice more before the clip abruptly ends. England ace Foden, who wears a blue hoodie and jeans, is seen briefly as he tries to defend his mum. He plays no further role in the fight and doesn't throw a punch. Rebecca also stands away from the fighting. Police probe Greater Manchester Police said: "GMP are aware of a video circulating on social media showing a disturbance at the AO arena last night. "We are conducting some further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident." Man City bosses released a statement telling of their "shock" - and say they'll back Foden and his family. “The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused," officials said. "We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family members. "We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need." The Sun has approached Foden and his representatives for comment. Foden's partner Rebecca Cooke, with whom he shares two children, was also involved in the fracas - although did not use violence

Meet the stunning Irish girlfriend of soccer star Conor Gallagher who has everybody talking Aine was born and raised in Cork but moved to London to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional dancer https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/meet-aine-kennedy-irish-girlfriend-26292628 The 23-year-old blonde bombshell was soon signed by a modelling agency after arriving in the fashion capital and has been dating the soccer star for three years. The Irish girlfriend of soccer star Conor Gallagher has got tongues wagging after the player gathered more attention for his stand out performances for Crystal Palace this season. The 22-year-old midfielder has impressed fans and managers alike after scoring a total of seven goals in competitions for the Eagles so far. Gallagher was called up to play for his country in November, making his debut for England against San Marino. However, it is his stunning girlfriend, Aine May Kennedy, who has caught the eye of many fans of the young player. Aine was born and raised in Cork but moved to London to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. The 23-year-old blonde bombshell was soon signed by a modelling agency after arriving in the fashion capital and has been dating the soccer star for three years. The model and dancer was signed by the respected Pulse Model Agency and has featured in a number of fashion shoots. Aine has been living it up since moving away from Ireland as she often shares snaps of the pair out and about hitting up luxury boutiques such as Dior. The couple appear to be going strong, enjoying each other's company whilst out on romantic dates in some of the country's most prestigious restaurants. The two have posted photos enjoying meals in hotspots like Harry's Dolce Vita in Knightsbridge, but it is travelling the world that seems to be the pair's favourite pastime. Conor, who also has Irish links, and Aine recently took a trip to Paris where they saw all that the city of love has to offer, including the Louvre Museum and posh eaterie Cafe de Flore. During the summer, they travelled to The Algarve, Portugal, to top up their tans and take a break from their hectic schedules. Aine looked effortlessly incredible as she showed off her bikini body in several Insta posts sending fans pulses racing. The long-term girlfriend is her beau's number one supporter and is often spotted in the stands at Selhurst Park cheering Conor on.

  5. Just pathetic ones. Real fans back their players through thick or thin!!!! whether you mean 'Real' as in authentic or 'Real' as in those Madridista knobs, you apparently know little of football supporters lol btw is a classic 'No true Scotsman' logical fallacy: No true Scotsman, or appeal to purity, is an informal fallacy in which one attempts to protect their universal generalization from a falsifying counterexample by excluding the counterexample improperly.[Rather than abandoning the falsified universal generalization or providing evidence that would disqualify the falsifying counterexample, a slightly modified generalization is constructed ad-hoc to definitionally exclude the undesirable specific case and counterexamples like it by appeal to rhetoric. This rhetoric takes the form of emotionally charged but nonsubstantive purity platitudes such as "true, pure, genuine, authentic, real", etc. Philosophy professor Bradley Dowden explains the fallacy as an "ad hoc rescue" of a refuted generalization attempt. The following is a simplified rendition of the fallacy: Person A: "No Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge." Person B: "But my uncle Angus is a Scotsman and he puts sugar on his porridge." Person A: "But no true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge."
  6. Racism? LOLOLOL As a person of colour I find your false charge of racism (you apparently have no clue what actual racism is) to be extraordinarily problematic. Your tossing it about over simple criticism that has no racial component cheapens the term. You have been a member of this board (well this one account you are posting on) for damn near ten years, had only a couple dozen posts in that decade, and NOW you come out of the woodwork and start tossing bombs. Curious.

  9. Moscow orders Russian troops into Ukraine Here we go. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/russia-ukraine-invasion/ Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday ordered his forces to deploy to two separatist areas of Ukraine as a “peacekeeping” measure following a weekslong effort to mass hundreds of thousands of soldiers along Ukraine’s borders. According to The Washington Post, Russian troops are now moving into both the “Donetsk People’s Republic” and the “Luhansk People’s Republic” after Moscow recognized their independence. Despite the Kremlin’s insistence that its forces were on a “peacekeeping” mission, the troop movements into Ukraine’s borders come after weeks of speculation and concern over a pending invasion. “Russia is invading Ukraine right now,” tweeted Michael McFaul, a former U.S. ambassador to Russia. The White House said it “anticipated a move like this from Russia” and announced new sanctions and other measures “related to today’s blatant violation of Russia’s international commitments.” During a recent interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt, President Joe Biden warned that any conflict between the United States and Russia could escalate into a “world war.” Speaking to reporters on Monday, a senior administration official repeatedly declined to specify whether the U.S. government considers the most recent deployment of Russian troops into eastern Ukraine as a new invasion of the country. The official noted that Russian troops have secretly operated in eastern Ukraine for eight years, and now Russia’s military presence in the region will be more overt. The U.S. government will observe and assess what moves Russia makes in the coming hours and the Biden administration will announce further steps on Tuesday, likely to include more sanctions, the senior administration official said. Russia has amassed up to 190,000 troops along Ukraine’s borders, Reuters reported on Friday, citing Michael Carpenter, the U.S. ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. “This is the most significant military mobilization in Europe since the Second World War,” Carpenter said in a statement. The Russian military buildup has been along Ukraine’s eastern and northern borders. Many Russian troops have been sent to Belarus, where they were ostensibly taking part in exercises. However, commercial satellite imagery recently revealed a military pontoon bridge had been built on the Pripyat River in Belarus less than two-and-a-half miles from the border with Ukraine. The area is inside a region in Belarus that was evacuated following the 1986 nuclear disaster at the Chernobyl power plant. Beginning in early February, a Russian amphibious group including three tank landing ships began operating in the Black Sea, according to USNI News, which also reported the Russians have sent two cruisers to the Mediterranean Sea. The U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman is also currently in the Mediterranean following a recent NATO exercise. Ukraine’s ministry of foreign affairs has accused the Russian navy of blocking its ports in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait under the pretence of holding naval exercises. “Such aggressive actions of the Russian Federation, which fit into the concept of its hybrid war against Ukraine, are unacceptable,” the ministry said in a Feb. 10 statement. Ukraine became an independent nation when the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has long sought to bring both Ukraine and Belarus under Moscow’s control. Immediately following Ukraine’s February 2014 Revolution of Dignity that ousted the country’s pro-Russia leader Viktor Yanukovych, Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula and then led a separatist movement in the eastern part of Ukraine. The eight-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine has cost the lives of more than 13,000 people, according to the International Crisis Group, an independent research and advocacy group that works to prevent wars and shape peace. Over the course of the conflict, Ukrainian forces and Russian-led separatists have dug a series of trenches in eastern Ukraine, where the fighting resembles World War I. While the Ukrainian military has improved in the last eight years, the Russian armed forces are much larger and they have more sophisticated equipment than the Ukrainians. Prior to Russia’s latest invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. government had closed its embassy in Kyiv and warned all American citizens to leave the country. About 4,700 U.S. troops from the 82nd Airborne Division are in the process of deploying to Poland and another 300 soldiers with the 18th Airborne Corps have arrived in Germany to reinforce NATO allies. Another 1,000 soldiers with the Army’s 2nd Cavalry Regiment have moved from Vilseck, Germany, to Romania, where they are augmenting about 900 American troops already in Romania on a rotation. More U.S. troops and aircraft could be sent to Europe as part of the NATO Response Force, but defence officials have been clear that no American forces are deploying to Ukraine. “The president has made clear that U.S. troops are not going to be fighting in Ukraine,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said last week. “The troops that we have added to the already 80,000 that are based in Europe are going to reassure our allies and our partners to deter aggression against the alliance, to conduct some joint training. So, I know of no decision – or no need – to change the parameters of the European theatre with respect to combat zone tax exclusion.”
  10. UEFA eye huge Champions League decision amid Russia and Ukraine row which could affect Chelsea Chelsea news: If the Blues make it to the Champions League final this year, they may not be playing it in St Petersburg as plans, with UEFA considering moving the event due to the diplomatic issue between Russia and Ukraine https://www.football.london/Chelsea-fc/news/uefa-champions-league-Chelsea-russia-23175496 UEFA are reportedly considering changing venue for Champions League final amid ever-growing diplomatic issues between Russia and Ukraine. This season's showpiece game is due to take place at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg on May 28 as Blues owner Roman Abramovich hopes to see his side qualify for consecutive finals. But UEFA bosses may be left with no choice but to switch venues should Russian president Vladimir Putin continue with his threat to invade neighbouring Ukraine. According to the Daily Star, Wembley Stadium would be considered as a possible alternative to host club football's biggest game, especially if two English teams have reached the final.
