Swap for Oblak and lets all move on. Alisson is a wonderful option but a sale then trying to buy him is a hassle. I don't even want any money, just a straight goalie swap.

I wonder if Chelsea will ever not do their game plan step by step: 1) Announce Intention & Interest. 2) Excite fans 3) Balk at the price 4) Scrap the plan for a way worse plan. Transfers, Coaching decisions, Stadium plans. Par for the course now.

I wonder how many Chelsea loanees they will take? this might be a blessing for Mason Mount, he has the stuff but still might not be ready physically for the PL. Maybe bring along Trev Chalobah with him. Could be a really useful stepping stone for the youth system having Lampard/Jody Morris in the championship. They might be wary of taking too many though, don't want them to look like they are being a feeder club.

Apparently Poch has a clause that allows him to break his deal for Madrid & PSG. Poch at Madrid is a really nice looking pair.

I've been reading that Sarri could potentially buy out his contract once the release clause expires, maybe that is the Chelsea plan? Tough to sue a guy who pays out the remainder of his deal and the club has already hired another manager. Who knows, but chelsea have handled this in typical fashion. Makes these outlandish big target links seem even more laughable the way this club is now. Zidane always did have a thing for memorable exits, I think he is burnt out after that ridiculous run. Now he will sit back and cherry pick premium jobs, honestly I could see him going to Juve next summer if Allegri finally does move on. Don't see him coming here with EL football next year and the club in turmoil.

I think Ampadu could be Weigl-esque in maybe 2 years. Bit more physicality to him, could be a special player.

They wanna get the blended average of starter cost to around 50m sterling it seems. casually trot out a 550m sterling starting XI with another 200m sterling or so on the bench. I genuinely do not understand the point of FFP. honestly.

My thoughts exactly. 100%

I remember maybe 1-2 years back ADL said he tried to get Icardi for Sarri and that he would score 40 goals in Serie A under Sarri. I can't imagine Sarri being too upset if Icardi is the clubs choice. However I refuse to even acknowledge this as a possibility as it is so out of character for how we run the club now.
-
MAYBE if we wrapped up Sarri when we should have we might of had a chance. Dragged our feet and I don't blame Jorginho at all for accepting City(if true)
-
What do we think of Tammy in a potential Sarri system? He is a great poacher and someone like Higuain thrived playing with Sarri. He has shown decent ball skills while playing with England/Swans Hypothetically if we do indeed sell Michy and Move on from Morata, whoever we bring in will be Prime Striker (Icardi/Lewa/Higuain) We will have Giroud as #2...I would love to see Tammy as our #3, play in EL and league cup. Some substitute appearances in the PL. Lots of games to go around...Just a thought.

That reminds me of last summer when we were waiting for the Nike announcement and everyone thought we had a marquee signing lined up(i was one of those dummies) You are right that we should be patient, I still think paying the release clause(which has been substantiated by the club & agent) is the easiest way, we are merely trying to haggle cause its what we do now. We should have some closure this week, then we move on to being frustrated by our player targets, not our manager target.
-
Exactly right, we are kissing the slim possibility of KK and/or Jorginho gone with the way we are going about this.
-
I think they are bluffing, trying to negotiate and save 1-2 million because they are cheap. If we don't pay this buyout clause ADL has way WAY more leverage in negotiations. Surely(you'd hope) we will pay it by Thursday (expires friday)
-
You realize that if we let the clause expire ADL can then ask for any amount of money he wants right? It is not like we get him for free when this expires, it could be substantially more?
-
I'd be shocked if the Sarri buyout clause killed the deal, feels like a negotiating tactic. ADL will call the bluff and we will stump up the whole sum of Sarris clause. I would be shocked(but not surprised) if it went any other way.
-
Jody Morris will be joining him as his #2...Future CFC dugout.

I think a lot of us are going to have to adjust our expectations for the next short period. We have been massively successful, and somewhat rested on our laurels. Man City has spent more ambitiously than any team ever, United are still giants who spend similar to City, Liverpool have momentum and a great manager to play for. We seemingly have no real direction or plan, Top 4 needs to be the target with a League Cup/ FA Cup/ PL focus as opposed to European dreams. We need to develop a coherent style of play and pathway for our youth coupled with a board that supports that vision. Those are systemic issues that will take a long time to sort out, sad times. Then again, we said that previously and we brought Conte in then won the league. Form and confidence in the 1st team matters more than anything, lets hope our next manager (Sarri) can inject some god damn positive energy around the club!

Liverpool make a 50m Euro bid for Fabinho according to Mohamed Bouhafsi from RMC Sport. He is usually pretty good. Liverpool is doing what we should have done last summer, trying to capitalize on momentum. VVD in Jan, Keita already purchased, Fabinho and Fekir getting linked and some goalie will be coming in im sure.

Napoli reporter claiming Jorginho is in the home stretch with Man City. Will be tough to overtake them even if we announce Sarri.
-
I still think if Jorginho is available we will go strong for him, even if we bring in Seri. I think Seri can play that attacking midfield role really well while having Jorginho holding and Kante literally everywhere else. RLC/Barkley can play that Seri role as well. Baka will be Kante backup. If we keep Cesc he obviously fits the pass master role, I also think Ampadu could be a really great option in the Jorginho role with a bit more crunch to him, could be a Sarri project. Jorginho Kante Seri

Confirmed 40m Euro release clause before July 15th for Seri. Agent said its about where he feels most welcomed. Would be a wonderful signing especially for that price in this market. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2018/5/24/17389224/seri-agent-confirms-40m-release-clause-plays-up-napoli-plays-down-chelsea-rumors

The only glimmer of hope I am holding on to is your point that he cannot get worse, He did play better in the last couple of games in the season. Get Sarri in and get Bakayoko working to understand his ideas. Short, quick passes with a triangle pattern always will help baka make the simple decisions to gather his confidence. Always being surrounded by more adept ball players should hopefully return him to the Monaco form not the dreadful form he has shown.
-
The way I view the CM roles next season depend alot on Jorginho/Seri. but in the midfield 3 Sarri likes a deep lying pacemaker, a B2B, and an Attacker with a goal threat. Deep Lying: Jorginho/Cesc/Ampadu(to grow/learn) B2B: Kante/Bakayoko(I think he will come good, a patterned system could make the game easier for him) ATM: Seri(?)/RLC/Barkley. I viewed Seri as a deep lying but his long range shot and playmaking seems like he can play this role, Barkley is my dark horse for a 10 goal season in this position(EXTREMELY optimistic point, im aware) RLC would just be splendid here no matter what. Jorginho Kante Seri/RLC I agree with your point on KK, definite luxury but he is so great. Striker mentions I agree with as well.
-
@Unionjack I agree with you on Cahill, but I think he will run out his contract here. Happy, perhaps you're right im not wed to the idea of him and if someone wanted to pay us enough i would reluctantly agree. AC however i disagree entirely, he showed extreme promise this year. He is going to be a great player for us in the coming years and hopefully more. He offers us something different to KK/Rudi. at Napoli KK excelled along side Albiol, AC is our Albiol & will be a wonderful CB in a sarri team. ADL won't want to lose KK and the asking price will be absolutely sky high, thats why im not expecting him but he would look real good in Chelsea blue.
