@OhForAGreavsie @dreamcfc I think its best to get back on topic, the player seems to have swung in our direction for a variety of reasons. Every player makes the decision they think is best for themselves. City are on top of the league at the moment, we have been there as well. Lets just wait for Jorginho to be official then celebrate having 2 immense players in our midfield.
-
I mean of course we should be interested, he has injury concerns but he is an immense talent who is used to a free flowing attacking system with high press at Dortmund and Barca. If they truly want Willian it wouldn't hurt to ask. My concern is that Madrid/Barca will both see the prize of Hazard and use their considerable allure and resources to go for him. We are elated with the Jorginho/Sarri news today, but our real fight is just beginning.
-
Wouldn't that be a kick right to the stomach. Lets hope it becomes official tonight!
-
They are pretty different players, tough to compare. the good news is it seems as if BOTH will be our selection as you said. I am curious to see the 3 way battle for that 3rd mid spot RLC/Golovin/Barkley. Based off current hype/form Golovin seems to be the leader followed closely by RLC. Jorginho Kante Golovin/RLC Talk about an upgrade to the mid with Dynamism throughout.

He is similar but I view Cesc as extremes, He is absolutely brilliant with the ball at his feet, can pick that magic pass the way nobody else could, including Jorginho. But on the other end he was woeful, slow and small a massive liability. Jorginho feels like a more well rounded version, Bigger physically and quicker, nice idea of his surroundings and controlling tempo same as cesc. Can absolutely drop passes in but he can hold his own on the defensive end. Could just be my opinion on the question but if you view Cesc as 9/10 going forward and 1/10 Defensively than I might put Jorginho at 7.5/10 forward and 5/10 at the back (this is just to indicate the differences in Cesc/Jorgi not their actual ratings out of 10)

I wonder what would have happened if we properly backed him when we had momentum...sigh....I loved Conte up until the end, he was immense for us and his passion brought us through a dark period for the club. An EPL title and FA cup in his first 2 years through turmoil is something I will never forget. I will always respect him for the job he did and I hope his next job is exactly what he wants, he deserves it. Grazie Mille Don Conte!

I know opinions of RLC on here are split down the middle. My only hope is he comes back and fights hard for a spot, i don't want him complaining in the media about the club or opportunities. I think we let RLC/Barkley/Golovin fight it out for that 3rd mid spot next to Kante/Jorginho and the best man will win. If that is not RLC and he wants to leave in January or next summer, move him along (with a buy back clause, ONLY with a buyback clause) I want youth as much as the next guy, but we can't earmark a starting spot just because he is from the academy. I want him to prove he belongs the way Christensen did.
-
I think its somewhere between the two, City rate him and would have paid, but ADL still would have accepted Chelseas offer to get the Sarri deal done. Short of Jorginho absolutely refusing to come here we had ADL in our corner (which is odd) Jorginho sees London + Sarri + $$$ + guaranteed starter, easy decision.
-
Coutinho price was £142, Hazard bidding has to at least start at £150 minimum. We might suck at buying players, but Chelsea are masters at getting the price they want for a player who wants to leave(IF he does indeed want to leave, I am not sure he will nor do I think he is their 1st choice).

Russia just lost a heartbreaking world cup game on Saturday, its only Tuesday. Player will probably take 1-2 weeks off then we will hopefully close the deal. Normal vacation time after an international tournament is 2 weeks. Toerriera was a couple of steps ahead in the process, i have confidence this will get done in due course.
-
I don't think you can look at that price tag alone, it seems he might be the key to unlocking Sarri and he is integral for his system. I agree alone Jorginho is not worth that amount, but when everything is considered if this is the direction chelsea want to take forward that sum of money will be more than worth it.
-
I don't think he is a world beater but I think he could have absolutely done well for us here. He would have walked into our starting XI with Sarri. It just so happens that ADL is a dick to deal with for everyone and it could land us Jorginho. Seri was/is a victim of circumstance, If he goes to fulham i think he will do well for them, if we somehow signed him I would have supported it. I think saying Massively overrating is a tad bit unfair, but then again we might get to watch him next season to see! this PL season is shaping up to be really exciting
-
Its not a knock on Zouma as a player, i quite like him. But he isn't HG and has never played a style even remotely close to Sarri. He doesn't have the passing range or comfort on the ball(at the moment) to play it. He was fine on loan last season but not so good that we must bring him back. if he were HG I would be all for it, but we have a limit on our roster and at this moment Zouma isn't good enough to demand a place. of course Rugani is unknown in the PL, but he is known to Sarri. He is a player the club has looked at, fits our buying model (young with resale) and a managers choice, very rarely do those 3 align. I think we will run with 4 cb's Christensen/Rudiger/Rugani/Cahill (2 HG, 2 Non HG) with Azpi as CB cover along with under 21 youths if need be.
-
This either screams we have Jorginho locked up or have massively misplayed our hand. We shall see!
-
Zouma won't be at the club this season, be it loan or sale(with buy back hopefully) Cahill is depth. Christensen had bright spots last year but also some faults, we have lots of games this year. Rugani is comfortable in a tough to play Sarri system, he will help with the learning curve while giving us a young potentially stud CB. Moving forward with Christensen,Rudiger,Rugani is a solid 3 man rotation at the moment. Deal is getting done and its far more important than a luxury, in my opinion.
-
Well I disagree with some points and agree with you on others. It is not apples to apples comparing Higuain at Napoli and at Juve, you're correct he didn't score a ton last year (23g 50app) but Juve/Napoli play a very different style. I have friends who support Juve and they are all guaranteeing if he comes to the Prem he will be a machine, especially under Sarri. Higuain has negatives but he always manages to get a very good goal return circumstances considering. I agree the price is steep for an aging striker, his fitness levels are more a social media joke now than a reality and he has never relied on blistering pace so his drop off wont be as drastic.Overall i am torn if this deal gets done, but its hard not to be excited imagining a revamped midfield feeding Hazard and Higuain. We shall see what comes of it.

July 1st 2017!
-
Just to play devils advocate about Clubs not releasing press memos regarding media speculation, Real Madrid has already done it twice this summer (Neymar/Mbappe) so it DOES happen. But I agree, Chelsea need to move forward with either business as usual or relieve Conte of his duties. You can't undermine an active coach with a press release. However I think we can all agree that every part of this situation has been a disaster from all parties involved. We all are equally frustrated with this situation.
-
I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, but dont get your hopes up until they are holding the jersey and Chelsea officially announce them! I am trying my hardest to stay level headed, it is admittedly difficult.
-
People think the second Sarri is(hopefully) announced the transfer floodgates are gonna open: Jorginho - Golovin - Seri - Higuain - Rugani etc just remember, this is 2018 Chelsea Football Club nothing is ever done quickly & efficiently. The annoyance is only just beginning.
-
Basically lets say he returns on Aug 1st based off 2 weeks vacay after the World Cup, I can't see us selling him unless its a ridiculous Neymar level offer from Madrid, Deals of this magnitude take a significant amount of time to complete, plus we are notoriously slow as we all know. Once the season starts even Chelsea wouldn't dare sell their best player when they can't reinforce with spending that haul. The draw of Zidane is gone, if we do as we should and bring in Sarri + some talent I think Hazard will stay with us.
-
Someone on twitter raised a very good point about why all 3 (jorginho/Seri/Golovin) might not be able to join, we are only allotted X amount of non-HG players right? this surely would take us over our number, especially when you consider the other potential signings.
-
Either means Jorginho is def going to city, or we are planning some major reconstructive surgery on our midfield.
-
IF we do close Jorginho along with Sarri AND bring in Seri, that has to mean the end of Fabregas/drinkwater and probably RLC. Kante/Jorginho/Golovin/Seri/Bakayoko/Barkley. I don't see how there will be any space for Fab/RLC if we close 3 midfielders. I'd suspect RLC is sold with a buy back option. This is purely hypothetical but I can't see it happening any other way? Controller: Jorginho/Seri B2B: Kante/Bakayoko ATM: Golovin/Barkley (Seri could play here also)
-
I am real excited to hear what both parties have to say about this when/if this gets done. Even if it is some crazy Jorginho/Sarri for Cesc/Luiz/Money switch with a ton of moving parts it is still just simply inexcusable. We wonder why we have never closed a deal for a player with Napoli?
