AKA Sign a bloody manager (Sarri) and he will happily patrol the midfield with his silky skills. Can play across the midfield, nice range of passing and tempo, pretty nice long distance shot. sign him up.
-
Nobody has a clue about anything, The date we need to have him in before is the start of Pre Season, I don't know if thats July 2nd or July 9th.
-
Cahill is on his way out, he won't be able to hack it in a Sarri system. Even if he stays it will be in name only, his game time will be like JT under Conte. Zouma was on loan, and the club dont seem convinced by his development, my bet is he is sold with a buy back or loaned once again. That leaves Christensen & Rudiger for 2 CB spots, Rugani seems like he is coming so that makes 3. We will need another CB, i did say it was dream land and I don't expect it to happen. Zouma could potentially stay, I would be absolutely fine with that but the rumours circulating certainly seem to be around 2 new CB's be it Rugani/Manolas or Rugani/Koulibaly(pipe dream) so that probably means we will ship him off. Lets also remember we have Europa League travel, Cup games, and the ever hectic PL schedule. We will need a solid rotation at the CB position.

Is it absolutely crazy that I think he can do a job in that holding midfielder role for Sarri? Jorginho was the first choice but Diawara did a nice job when he filled in, Ampadu has a great passing range, a extremely tough tackle and a cool head. I always envisioned a Julian Weigl-esque role for him, We could very well loan him out but I am so tempted to keep him and have him learn/develop with the team in this roll. What a special player we have got with him, my goodness.

I think RLC has made it clear he expects more game time than in the past, his recent performances show he is much closer to Chelsea level readiness than he was before the Crystal Palace loan. I also think that he is a Sarri type of player, one the coach will gravitate too especially with a push from the fans and the club. He excels in Ball retention, passing, and close control all things that are integral for a Sarri system I think it would be useless to send him out on Loan again, if i had to place a bet today I think he will be with the team this year sharing one of the more forward attacking midfield roles. Lets just enjoy him in this world cup before supporters lose their minds about a possible loan. Coach needs to look at and work with him before any decision is made.

Can someone confirm what day our pre season starts? Rumours of July 2nd but Simon Johnson wrote July 9th in his article? I do believe Sarri will be the manager by the pre season start date, problem is nobody seems to know when that day is!

Rumours of David Luiz to Napoli for 30m Euro, was hoping we could use it as a makeweight and give them 50m + Luiz for Koulibaly to hit that high number they want. I think however he is going to be Albiol replacement, saw that a spanish club wanted to activate his clause. In dream land its Luiz + 50m for KK, 35m for Rugani, 35-40 for Seri, 50m for Bailey (Lemar set the high side of his price at 52-53 to Atleti) + If Sarri wants Higuain(probable swap or 50m raised by selling a striker) Icardi/Lewa are pipedreams Thats 225m for 5 important players, 4 of which fit our clubs MO, 1 is to appease the manager(wont happen probably) That is before selling(excluding luiz) any of the dead weight, which our board is actually quite good at doing. I'd say this might be possible, except for the fact that we don't have a coach + its world cup + shortened window. My money would be on Rugani + Seri and thats about it.
-
this quoted price tag is absolutely ludicrous. Chelsea will never pay anything close to 70m Euro for a goalie. No matter what we get for Courtois IF we sell him it wont be directly reinvested into Alisson, thats not how our board works. That being said he would be marvelous here.
-
You'll soon be a Juve supporter when they line up Pjanic/Savic together in Turin.
-
I think he will be good for them, but if they think he can replicate Fernandinho they might have a problem. Fernandinho is a hyper mobile destroyer who happens to be decent with the ball at his feet. Jorginho is a wizard with the ball, but lacks mobility and the same edge fernandinho has. He is so important to what they do, against lesser opposition it wont matter, but against the big clubs and in europe it surely will. Good player, Good signing for them. The rich get richer and keep buying everyone Pep even thinks he might like.
-
Wonderful Player, don't see this happening. Power play for a new contract I think. In a hypothetical world where we do get him, he would be an ideal deep lying playmaker, deadly from dead balls. Smart player with great control. Worth that supposed price tag? probably not. Would chelsea ever pay that much for someone other than a striker or CB? most definitely not.

I'm just gonna play devils advocate here for a second, Rugani(who was/is highly regarded) under Sarri & at Empoli showed his quality(Serie A Team of the season, No Yellow card etc). Mertens without Sarri was a backup thought to be okay, if not unspectacular. Mertens under Sarri has now shown his quality and is playing confidently and brash. So in recent years it is shown both players have quality, one is 24 and was highly sought after in a value position. The other is 31, wanted highly now in a value position. I would argue that Signing someone like Mertens (who now no longer has his affordable release clause) would make less sense than Rugani. If we believe (its a stretch, i know) that we can get the deal done at 35m Euros for Rugani, and lets say ADL requests 40-45m for Mertens, I would argue that Rugani is the far better bit of business. To be clear, I am relatively indifferent if Rugani comes. I think we have a strong stable of 1st team and youth CB's so that we wouldnt necessarily need him. But he IS used to Sarri, and Sarri did try to get him at Napoli. As i said, just playing devils advocate.

Never in a million years would i want to see him at Chelsea. He needs to go to Italy or somewhere and rebuild himself.
-
It could also be that they are trying to bankroll a move for Milinkovic-Savic. Juve never has trouble attracting talented defenders so they could see it as a chance to profit on a young player who is stagnating behind their more established 4 CBs. Potential win-win for all. Important that he performed so well under Sarri already and understands his style. Nobody is hyping him up as an immediate world class defender, just a very good prospect that could become a very good player for us.

He never really showed his form at Juve the same way he did at Empoli under Sarri. Might not fit their style exactly? He didn't play bad but its tough to beat out Chiellini/Barzagli. Plus they brought in Benatia and Howedes. Rugani played every minute in his last Empoli season without picking up a single booking while making the Serie A team of the season, the talent is certainly there, He is not as rock solid a star as Koulibaly would be, but he is also an affordable CB who is young with proven talent and comfortable with Sarri(very important) I would have no problem bringing him in. CB rotation of Rugani, Christensen, Rudiger with the floating 4th as either Cahill or Luiz is rock solid for me.

Won't even pretend to know anything about this guy. From some YT vids he seems to fill that b2b role that Allan plays for Napoli. Would be decent depth for us in a position we lack? Kante would be 1st choice in that role by a long shot, Curious to see what Sarri does with Bakayoko. Swapping Zappacosta out for a decent b2b mid is a deal i am interested in. ATM(Hamsik Role): RLC/Barkley/Seri(?) Fab(?) B2B(Allan): Kante/Bakayoko(?)Vecino(?) Deep Lying(Jorginho): Seri(?)/Fab/Ampadu/Kante(?) I am very curious to see how Sarri sorts all these guys out and chooses where to play them.
-
A Sarri announcement with a Zola kicker!? i won't even complain about lack of transfers for a couple weeks as I revel in the excitement.
-
I am a massive fan of CHO, but i don't think he is physically or mentally ready for the 1st team. He is our brightest youth star by far, I think he will become a major player in the first team. But personally if you said pick one for the next 2 years in the PL it has to be Martial(in my opinion). I would love a 2 year loan of CHO to Germany like Christensen did. The boy is 17 turning 18 this year, just a bit too young. Immense talent though, if you said pick one for the next 10 im taking CHO
-
Okay well Savic and Boateng there is no need to discuss for this exercise, if we bring in Rugani I would be shocked if we brought either of them in. AC & Rudiger are vital, Rugani would join them along with one of Luiz/Cahill(more probable) and have 4 CB's for 2 spots. Luiz - Feels like he is going to be sold, potentially as a makeweight for Sarri. (even if not, he has shown he cant be trusted in a 4 man D) Cahill - Hanging on, will always be last choice in a Sarri style (in this hypothetical Sarri is our manager) He can stay as the 4th choice then move on at the end of his contract or next summer. Zouma - Has not played a role in Chelsea for a couple years (since that injury) Doesn't have the ball playing ability (yet) or the HG status. My guess is sold with a buyback or loaned out again. If it came down to Rugani or Zouma in a Sarri system I know who I would choose. 2 CB Slots AC/Rudiger/Rugani/Cahill even if we keep Luiz thats 4 solid options and Cahill for 2 spots. (Azpi for backup) (obviously this is a giant hypothetical based on Sarri as our manager and my opinion on the players we do own, with the assumption Rugani is the CB that we purchase)
-
Zouma and Ampadu are two different stories, Ampadu is still too young to be counted on week in week out, and he still might be better suited to that defensive midfielder role as opposed to CB. Zouma (whom i love) feels as if his path is being sold with a buyback clause. I could be wrong, but IF we get Sarri(big IF) Rugani has shown he excelled in this style of play, one which im not sure zouma could adapt to
-
Not yet, but I wouldn't blame him if he made it official. Chelsea seemingly can't do anything right this summer.
-
At least fits the clubs profile. Big, young, proven. excelled with Sarri before. Wouldn't be upset if we did bring him in. People will say what about youth and zouma etc but Rugani is an interesting prospect.
-
Or he waits out his current deal and chooses where he wants to go. Having those teams out of the market only hurts us. I am fine if we keep him but he needs to sign that extension or else he is sold cut rate in January.
-
The Rumour well really dried up on this one. Either that is very good news or very bad news. He is my first choice for that RW role. He is electric and young enough he can help now and in the future. My Dream is buy Bailey, 2 Year loan for Hudson-Odoi at Bayern Lev(huge fan of the 2 year loan for our prize players). in 2 years bring back CHO with Bailey and a prime Hazard. Then we are eventually set moving forward with CHO & Bailey.
