  1. That record won't be broken for quite some time. That is an immense price to pay for a goalkeeper, no matter how good. The market is well and truly broken.
  2. They did though? and who cares? We both wanted the keeper, they smashed a world record for him. There is no shame in missing out when the other team decides they want the player no matter the cost. That doesn't make us cheap or losers.
  3. The is one hell of a price for a GK, and it still might go higher if Roman decides he is his man. This is giving off a bit of Jorginho vibes in the sense that all the liverpool media are trying to say its a done deal, but until I see an official announcement ill always kind of believe Chelsea will try to steal him. I still think he is liverpool bound though, if i had to make a bet. They showed they wanted him with an aggressive blitz.
  4. From a purely skill/potential standpoint, he is the best option out there after Alisson. From a fit standpoint, i don't love it. he reminds me of a younger Courtois. Another area he reminds me of Courtois is outspoken/brash and with Raiola that means we will be going through this exact situation again in a few years time. So i'm not in love with the move if it happens, but it would be ok.
  5. This dude is really trying to be the first one. I want to believe, but sadly I have little faith in him.
  6. My two cents are this: I think the club assured him of coming back next year and being in the team, Fabregas contract is up and Mount would be his replacement as an impact sub pushing for more time. He will be cheaper salary wise than Cesc and arguably more effective on the pitch. He wont stagnate at Derby, Lampard & Morris will make sure he is playing lots and also in the positions Chelsea want to see him at, while also playing in a league with extremely physical players in it. I could be extremely wrong, but it makes sense in my head.
  7. For sure, The german clubs are always very good to deal with it seems. The italian clubs seemingly take things personally, the germans are all business. They will have a price, no doubt near what we have discussed, and if we pay that price they will sell the player. Fingers crossed we can secure him, I am a big fan of the player.
  8. So would I, but we haven't been linked with Icardi at all for quite some time. I tried to keep it to the links that are currently being reported. ya, HG is a bit of a concern. Be curious to see how the club sorts it out. They know what is needed so we've got to have faith. Seems like a pretty dramatic rebuild this summer. Be curious to see how we look top to bottom when the window shuts.
  9. I was having a chat with a Juve friend of mine, i was telling him about Fulham getting Seri and West Ham getting Felipe Anderson. The bottom half of the prem spend more to strengthen than 90% of teams in other leagues. It is insane across the board.
  10. I'd say a £50m will get the deal done. Lemar went to Ateli for £53 if im not mistaken. That should set the high side of the price He is only 22 already produced a league title in france + CL run + world cup winner. Malcolm would seem to set the low end of the price range between £40-45. somewhere between £45-50 gets the deal done and puts him right in between the two, he has done more than malcolm, but not nearly as much as lemar. All around the same age and player profile.
  11. So potential XI if Rumours are to be believed: Age turning/turned in 2018 GK (TBD) Azpi(29) Rugani(24)(AC) Rudiger(25) Emerson(24) Jorginho(27) Kante(27) Golovin(22) Bailey(21) Hazard(27) Higuain (31) If they take to Sarrismo that could be a really interesting group. The prem is going to be a blood bath this year. Liverpool/City/ManU/Arsenal have all strengthened, Spurs havent done much but they are always difficult. Lets hope we take to Sarri style really quickly.
  12. Reports are saying 70m Euro offer from Liverpool has been officially accepted. I think we missed out on this one.
  13. This kid seems to have it all and then some. Can pair with Hazard, then eventually Hudson-Odoi. So young with such a bright future. Would be over the moon if we got this done.
  14. Would be a shame to lose him, Way too expensive for a goalkeeper but his style is perfect for Sarri Ball. Don't think this one is quite done and dusted yet but Liverpool firmly in the drivers seat. Someone steer Romans yacht to the nearest port!
  15. N'Golovinho The new Chelsea midfield
  16. Looks like Alisson is off to Liverpool judging by Social Media things(crazy these are giveaways this day and age) liking IG's, removing Roma from bio etc etc. Liverpool twitter is in a frenzy. Lets hope Chelsea swoop in.
  17. Looks like we will get to enjoy at least 1 year of Hazard in Sarrismo. Lets hope he likes our new system & transfer targets. Would be mighty tough to turn down a massive new contract while playing enjoyable football as the main star for one of the biggest clubs in the world. I still think Madrid have their hearts set on Neymar or Mbappe.
  18. So its even inconvenient for you, and you're IN australia!
  19. I agree with your first paragraph 100%. Golovin/Kante/Jorginho is a wonderfully balanced midfield, something we havent had in forever. I try to be an optimist but for some reason I have a feeling in my gut Barkley & Bakayoko will surprise us this year, maybe its just because the bar is so low for expectations but regardless I have a sneaky feeling they will produce. My quoting you is in regards to the never ending RLC Conundrum. I am right there with you, I think he will be gone and I flip flop every day seemingly on him. I see the potential and dream but many coaches have seen him and play him in positions that dont seem to maximize his talent. What could we be missing? Half the people here rate him, the other dont. That seems like the book on him in the professional world as well. So confusing. I'd thought he would be in the first team fighting for minutes this season, sadly I think if he does go out on Loan he won't play for us again and I don't know if im upset about that or not!
  20. Indifferent is the correct word for me as well. If we sign him, i would be very excited. If we don't I wouldn't be brokenhearted. He looked great at WC and seems to have the right skill set/engine to fit in our midfield but if he doesn't come i know we will be able to find someone to fill that role.
  21. Care Free Youth which has a massive twitter following said that Mount sat down and spoke with the club about their short & long term plans for the player. I hope they don't do the standard Vitesse --> Championship --> lower PL team route. I was personally hoping for a Bundesliga move for him. Lets hope the comfortable confines of Lampard/Morris have him rip up the championship then potentially come back next year and make a push for the first team. He posses the qualities that Sarri likes in players, which is why i find the timing of this loan confusing.
  22. That quote Sarri gave about Jorginho made me think about Higuain/Rugani. We all sit here wondering why he wants certain players etc. "He is a technical player but the most important quality is his he very quick of the mind" Higuain/Rugani seemingly posses this quality, the one sarri holds in such high regard. Will be curious to see how the rest of our summer business goes.
  23. I think it was meant as a way of solidifying rosters throughout England so you don't have those transfer dramas while games are being played, but the problem is exactly what you wrote in that other teams outside of England can still purchase! haha im all for the transfer window closing before the season starts, but that should happen across europe. or at least restrict being able to buy players from teams/leagues once their window is closed.
  24. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/videos/v/2018/07/16/jorginho--i-am-ecstatic-to-be-here--00M2ZyZjE6_SCuASjGP4QJfoxI0-9f-H
  25. They are trying to corner the market on up and coming players. Would imagine its very tempting, come live in Monaco, play in a league that is notorious for developing talent, play under a great manager who will trust you, and when you want we will sell you to the big boys. Would anyone be surprised if he actually ended up there? I wouldn't.
