Desperately need my Chelsea fix, haven't felt this way before. Some teams are already on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th pre season game while we still have another 2 days & there's no transfers to temporarily distract us either.

Is this the longest wait for pre-season ever?

Agreed. He has potential but still very raw. Stones as of now is far ahead in his developmental curve. As I've already said in this thread, he should be loaned out if Stones signs. A season as an undisputed starter in the Premier League should do him the world of good. Stones & Zouma 2/3 years down the line could potentially be as good as Carvalho & Terry years back.

How many of Dortmund's best players have left recently? Of the 5 in recent years they've either failed or haven't been as good as they were, you can't just dismiss a trend like that Barrios - From top scorer in their 2 title wins to a complete non factor since leaving BVB. Has flopped at every single club since he left. Sahin - From getting Pirlo/Alonso comparisons to failing at both Madrid & Liverpool. Ran back to Dortmund with his tail between his legs Kagawa - Same story as Sahin Gotze - Was being touted as Germany's answer to Messi, described as the best German talent of all time. 2 years later most Bayern fans want him out & was still coming off the bench for Germany until Klose's retirement. Lewandowski - The only real success story out of the 5. Still, he just had his lowest scoring season since his debut year as a Barrios' backup back at Dortmund. I'm not saying Gotze isn't a very good player just saying the media might have overrated him too much. Not sure he's better than De Bruyne for example.

Cahill as of now is comfortably better than Zouma & this is someone who doesn't rate Cahill that highly at all. Zouma needs to sort out his passing & positioning first. I'd personally loan him out if we get Stones in. Cahill will have sleepless nights if we sign Stones, he'll keep his place if Zouma is the only challenger.

On the contrary. Willian is the most babied player in our entire squad. You can literally count on one hand the amount of Chelsea forwards over the last 10-12 years that would get away with having only 5 assists in 2 seasons. Not going to derail this thread. Everyone knows my feelings about Willian by now, doesn't need to be said again.

I'm confident we'll get him. We made a mistake choosing Filipe Luis over Shaw last summer, can't see us repeating the same mistake.

There's still room for improvement in our squad even without signings If you look at our core: Oscar - Nailed on to improve this season Hazard - Already the best player in the League. Still another gear or 2 left in him. Cesc - Second season. Should improve. Costa - I've harshly criticized him but he played an entire season with dodgy hammys yet still scored 20 League goals. He's likely to improve even further this coming season Matic - Thought he was bang average for most of last season especially when compared to his debut year. Should improve. Courtois - Is only going to get better Azpiluceta - Defensively we all know how ridiculously good he is. Is only going to get better offensively. RLC - Might be the first youngster since JT to break into the first team with the way Jose talks about him. The only real question marks in our squad are Cahill, Ivanovic, Terry & Willian. Either because of age or they aren't good enough.That's why we're in for Pedro & Stones.

If Gotze were for sale it'd be all over Bild. Bayern aren't selling one of the best German talents for barely a little over what they bought him for especially after selling both Schweinsteiger & Kroos in recent years.

United have apparently also triggered his release clause. No doubt now another big club are in for him the Reus fanboys will come around.

To be honest. I genuinely couldn't care less if we signed Witsel or not. He isn't going to be the difference between us & the Champions League. Nice option to have but not a necessity. Pedro & Stones would be enough for me.

Stones, Falcao & Pedro would be a very good summer all things considered.

That about sums it up. He's far too good to keep playing U-21 football. The very best prospects get first team games in the first divisions usually before they hit 18. Neymar, Rooney, Hazard, Messi, Wilshere, Fabregas, Iniesta etc I can see him forcing a move to another club ala Pogba as you've already mentioned if he makes no further progress this season. He knows he's good enough. Every big club would be in for him.

Excellent signing by City. Silva, Sterling & Aguero will tear teams apart & Sterling will excel even further now that he doesn't have the pressure of being the main man at City. More space & surrounded by superior talent.
