Now I feel like a fool. Thanks. I'm usually pretty good at spotting unseriousness. But I'm allergic to opportunism. Willian has scored three goals on accident if you include that own goal. He's discovered the formula.
-
Yes, because his stunning goal-scoring record proves otherwise. And two crosses ended up in the net this season. Top notch stuff. Quality goal and I thought he was good. No, I thought he was great. Not his fault no one was vibing with him tonight. Probably busted a lung today, looked sick at the end. Admirable performance. I should attempt to copy his his hair style. Maybe find a wig.

Well deserved loss. Not surprising either. Some either underrated Porto or overrated this Chelsea side. I don't know what to say about the attacking play. Strangers playing together. No cohesion, no ideas. Redknapp would've been proud. Defensive play. No words. This is all so strange. Chelsea have become mediocre. Think we're looking at a lost season here.
-
Attacking play is so incredibly poor. How is this possible? Absolutely no well drilled passing moves combined with smart movement. They look like strangers out there. Relying on dribbles through crowd. Depressing stuff. God bless you, Willian. You did your team a huge favour there, could've been long a night. Don't know what to expect in the second half. Hoping for some serious improvement.
-
Maybe, and that's what I'd like to believe. But at same time, Mourinho is no fool.
-
He must be absolutely woeful. Moving Azpi to the right and playing him on the left would actually worsen the worst defence in the PL.
-
He was last seen entering a hotel with his wife and his sister. Seriously though, what's wrong with him? I'd question his fitness but he's not reported injured. I don't understand how he disappears from time to time like that. Very strange.

Has to be a 3 man midfield. Ramires on the wing is such a waste and a thorn in the eye of spectators. I'd have more faith in a RLC-Cesc pivot than Mikel and Cesc. Or maybe it's Mikel and Ramires in the middle with Cesc at #10. But whatever it is, it better work. No more tactical failures.
-
Hazard and Terry dropped before Ivanovic and Cesc. Quite shocked by that. Well, let's hope for the best. Maybe Willian will put in his best performance in a Chelsea shirt. Ramires scored an absolute beauty, now playing against former rivals (for whatever much that counts) and he'll want to prove himself. I hope Costa can concentrate on football. Get in behind, get in the box and shoot.

His mentality is brilliant. He's been playing first team football for five or six years now at the age of 22 (!) and he keeps improving. Technically, tactically, mentally, he's made great strides in all these areas. Not to mention his fitness, he obviously takes excellent care of himself. The way he dealt with child stardom and early riches is commendable as well. Sit back and think about how many 'future stars' we see and read about, and think about how many of them fall into obscurity. Most you never hear about again at top level and many others simply become decent players, even though they were supposed to be dead set to become top players. Moving to Everton has turned out be to an excellent move so he was absolutely right to make that move. He's already achieved so much at a young age. Suarez and Ibrahimovic were still playing for Ajax at 22, Lewandowski was playing football in Poland and moved to Dortmund at 22, Cavani was playing for Palermo at 22 and he wasn't a big succes there. Lukaku is well on his way. Even though I still think he's flawed and have my doubts on how good he can become, he's already proved me wrong with his rapid progression in these past few years. I never expected him to play at this level so soon. I'm sure he'll become a better player than I ever thought he would. At this rate, he could easily become a Diego Costa or Edinson Cavani. He never would've progressed in the same fashion at Chelsea, in and out of the team and being dropped quicker because of his age. The constant criticism of him not staying and fighting is nonsense imo. Footballers aren't robots. How can't people understand that every person is built differently and has their own ways of doing or dealing with circumstances. The funny thing is people shouting he should've fought for his spot are probably guilty of 'not fighting' in an area or areas in their own lives. It's always easier to tell others what they should do. We don't even know what happened. Maybe he didn't feel the trust of his manager (which leads to unhapiness and less motivation), and if he didn't feel that, whether that feeling was correct or not, he was right to leave. Chelsea only need players in their right mind and those who want to be at the club. Big bag of money for Chelsea, first team football for Lukaku. It was a very good deal for both parties.

Casillas will probably be in the mood today.
-
I still don't understand your logic. I'd say there's no point in going on.
-
Never mind. I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
If he's a competitor, which goes for most athletes, he is thinking he can do better and that's the way it's supposed to be. You want to be the best or at least try to be the best. That's what helps you improve. How does that make you a terrible team player? If he can do better and proves so, he helps his team. I don't understand your logic. This is sport. Supporting your manager's choices. I specifically said it's up to him to convince the manager. I'm sure Fabregas wanted to play and thought he could do better than whoever was playing in his position when he broke through at Arsenal. There were experienced and more proven players playing in his position, but he 'relegated' his competition to the bench as a teenager.
-
You're such a fan. That's not how professional athletes think. Especially at a young age. He wants to play. He's looking at Cesc and Matic, looking at their form and thinks he can do better. Up to him to convince his manager.
-
Strikers suffer the most when the team behind him isn't clicking. This isn't surprising. But no one can claim Remy's a better striker than Costa. He's practically a ghost outside of finishing. What worries me is why there are three strikers at the club and all suffer from a serious lack of skill? Three finishers, adding little to general play. That's so poorly managed.
-
He is and he'll come good. The team is broken. I'm not even looking at individuals because Matic looks poor, Cesc looks poor, Hazard looks poor, Diego looks poor. It goes on and on. A decent sub appearance from Willian doesn't erase his lackluster performances either. When Chelsea start looking like a good unit again, then we'll see how good the players are on an individual level.
-
Watching Utd fail that season was fun. Sigh...
-
Completely agree with this. It's about suitability for me. And you need a bit of luck. Suarez almost turned Brendan Rodgers into the best manager in the league. That Liverpool wasn't fit to win the league yet they were painfully close. Juve's downfall might win Mancini the league.
-
Huge game. Not for progression in the group but for Chelsea's confidence and form. Porto is better than this Chelsea side. But European football is a different beast. Losing this game would not be surprising. What a terrible situation to be in at the moment. This is what it feels like to be Liverpool.
-
Klopp has been with two clubs in his career and he received the time and worked in an environment to build. Question is how he'll cope in a situation where there's pressure to deliver immediately. I remember him cracking and not reacting well (whether on the pitch or to the press) when the the pressure was piling up in his final years at Dortmund, when they were no longer underdogs. It's possible he's not built for such environments. Only way to find out is by diving in and trying though. I wouldn't mind Klopp as Mourinho's successor at all, especially since we'd see style of football never witnessed before in Chelsea's elite club era, but it's far, far from a guaranteed recipe for succes, even in theory.
-
He also said he'd return one day. But whatever. Anyone looking for some quick succes will be interested. Give him a good squad and he'll deliver a few titles. You can't say that about all managers.
-
Send a psychedelic tape of his 2014 form to PSG and Wolfsburg and wait for the 30m+ offer to arrive.
-
Nahh. PSG, Juve, Inter. Let's say Mourinho gets the sack. City would go for him in the summer, I'm sure. Pellegrini isn't staying there for 10 years. Utd would go for him if he's available after Van Gaal retires or if he gets sacked. Perez still loves him although I don't think Real and Mourinho is a good fit. But they've ran out of manager options. Benitez had a decent spell at Napoli that ended very poorly and he still got the job. Mourinho has excellent timing. He usually steps in at the right time, with actual possiblities of winning.
