That was beatifully put. Van Gaal really is insulting the intelligence of the fans. Mourinho has done that a couple of times as well, with his we created chances or blaming the refs comments.
-
The worst thing about all this is how much it has set the club back. Unlike Dortmund or even Juve coming back from relegation, Chelsea have five teams to compete with for a top 4 spot. Five teams that are consistently up there and aren't bouncing up and down the table from year to year. This is truly horrible.

These stats are killing me. Bring back Vialli. Bring back Gullit. Bring back Hoddle.
-
Haha. How could anyone compare Utd in 4th to Chelsea in 16th?
-
I don't care what your opinion on Mourinho is as a manager. This isn't working. Simple as.
-
Like Gilvorak said, we've had worse teams and never performed this bad. This is beyond unacceptable.
-
Buy Biglia and Wanyama. Not the greatest players but good enough to help salvage the situation. Chelsea's midfield is a joke. You could actually convince them to join as well. Sell Mikel. Any player that isn't good enough to come in when their 'competition' is failing has no place in the team. His role as someone coming on to 'protect a lead' is pathetic. Send RLC out on loan. He has no place here. Get as many minutes as possible somewhere else.

Defensive solidity is the basis for Mourinho's succes. The problem is we got into a situation where Chelsea couldn't rely on defensive soldity. Games have to chased and risks have to be taken to go at teams and attack them. That's not Mourinho's forté. It requires a different type of defending. That's why the quality of the defending isn't the same.

I was dreading this game and this is why. What a season.
-
The difference between this Chelsea side and the old Mourinho Chelsea side is that they wouldn't concede in a game like this, with barely anything happening, score a goal in the 2nd half and 'kill' the game.
-
Our players do a good job of kicking the ball away though. Come on, Chelsea. You've got to better than this.
-
Same issues. Can't break a team down when Chelsea have to take the initiative. Porto took initiative and gave Chelsea space and Chelsea punished them for it thanks to an early own goal. Now Leicester say, you come to us and you get nothing. Passes to the side, long passes to the side. False sense of control. This is so sad. This team can't attack. Leicester punishes the team with one moment. 2nd half is going to be a long one. I guess Ramires isn't the answer anymore now.

I know you love Cesc, Skippy, but he doesn't deserve to play. Think some time on the bench would be good for him. Kenedy at leftback against Leicester away? What have you been smoking? That Brendan herb?

I believe in a win, LDN. But PSG has a burning desire to win the CL. We know that feeling of being the new kid on the block and wanting it so much after many disappointments. With the quality they possess, that run into the semis or final is coming sooner than later. You'd think anyway. But no one can ruin a high like Chelsea. City losing would be hilarious but being knocked out by a side like Kiev is more up Arsenal's alley. I'd prefer you being right.

I can't imagine Real, Barca, Atletico and City not going through, Think their opposition has a very slim chance of going through. Gent could continue surprising. And Chelsea, Juve and Benfica all have very good chances of going through. But if I had to choose, I'd pick PSG, Bayern and Zenit. It would be nice if you were right about making the final. I think we're out of miracles so an against the odds run like 2012 I don't see happening again. Something like that happens once every 100 years. So the performances would have to be far more convincing than back then. I see a contender in Atletico. The return of Luis has done them a lot of good and Oblak is making a name for himself, looking like a worthy successor of Courtois. Wild cards up front with Carrasco, Correa and Vietto, all offering more finesse, directness and unpredictability than they had before. Their defence is mean, arguably the best in the competition, and their play going forward is getting back to 13/14 levels. I think they can win it this year, especially if they can get Jackson firing.

Last time Arsenal faced Barca was in 2011. 2010 in the 1/8 finals after beating Porto. It's not that regular tbh. It's not that it's fixed but the regulations really limit the options. They should just throw 16 teams in a pot and draw, regardless of country or previous meetings in group stage. Chelsea met Liverpool five times in a row at one point. This with PSG is nothing yet. They should also get rid of the not being able to face clubs out of the same country in the group stage too. That would make the CL more fun. The quality in the knock-out rounds would drop but now it's becoming too much of the same. The big clubs already have the money advantage, hogging all the talent. It's amazing how Chelsea never faced Real btw.

Forgot about that. Well, that will mean multiple screens or avoid scores and watch a replay. The latter is hard though. Anyone know why they don't play one game at 18.00 and one at 20.00 (UK time)?
-
Not a prediction game fan but I'm bored. Who's in? Gent - Wolfsburg Roma - Real PSG - Chelsea (sorry, I hope I'm wrong. I'm almost expecting it even. But I think it's at least 60-40 for PSG). Arsenal - Barca Juve - Bayern (tough game though, Juve could surprise.) PSV - Atletico Benfica - Zenit (well balanced tie, hard call) Kiev - City
-
Stop torturing yourself. Ivanovic is guaranteed a spot as well.
-
I think Juve would've been worse. PSG possess more quality but their attacking style suits Mourinho's underdog tactics. Juve won't give any opponent space. Like you've said, we already know the script. Chelsea with 10/11 men behind the ball, PSG bossing possession and creating more opportunities. Chelsea trying to hit PSG on the break but mostly threatening through set-pieces. I thought PSG was the better team in both meetings. Poor finishing led to Chelsea squeezing through the first time around. Last year's tie was terrible. Absolutely terrible. They are better than last year, yeah, so it will be even more difficult. Di Maria is a nightmare for this team. He's so direct. Lucky for us he's hot and cold. PSG's midfield will be a problem. Regardless of Chelsea's form, their midfield is comfortably better. Verratti in particular was exceptional and I expect him to perform again. Chelsea can win this. As long as Mourinho doesn't go all out defence. Pressure is on PSG as the favourites and their finishing is not the best in big games. Zlatan rarely scores in ties like this and Cavani mostly chokes. So the scoreline will probably be tight again. 1-1 away and 2-1 at home is possible.

Arsenal - Barcelona. What is this? Boring draws.
-
Again. I'm so upset.
-
I'd love Real - Arsenal, Man City - PSG, Bayern - Juve, Chelsea - Gent & Zenit - Roma.

Villarreal! Most beautiful club in Spain. Huge win. El Madrigal was beaming.
