  1. Embolo Emenalo It's faith.
  2. Height Impressive built Strength Pace (on and off the ball) Direct Aggressive Decent technique Decent footwork Good level of comfort across the attacking third Seems to possess an at least okay eye for his team mates Easily worth whatever kind of gamble is involved here. His attributes are very impressive. Potentially a new sensation. If the opportunity to get him is there, Chelsea have to go for him full force. Would be even better if he was available in Jan. I'm extremely impressed. 18-years-old. Wow. Already played 74 games for Basel according to Wiki. Already a Swiss international as well.
  3. The problem with Fabregas is whether he'd accept such a role. And then there's the hierarchy in the wages. He's one of the highest earners in the team, only behind Hazard if I am not mistaken. He's too expensive not to be a star player.
  4. I have to agree with this. Mikel's performance vs Munich is often hailed as some kind of masterclass. But it really wasn't. Munich were far too dominant to make such a claim. He did well, with a couple strong plays, but it wasn't a great performance. It's not like he shut down any of their players and he wasn't a dominant force in midfield by being a step ahead of his opponents either.
  5. In the summer of 2015 Willian decided to produce a collection of football art. It's called 'My goals are better than yours'.
  6. I'll need more before 'converting'.
  7. The counter-attacking. Did you all see the counter-attacking? I actually became convinced the team just couldn't counter-attack. Doesn't make sense but that's what it looked like. I saw players flying over the pitch today. Getting forward immediately in an attempt to exploit the space given and the lack of organisation. It was amazing to watch. Encore. We want more.
  8. I'm terrible when it comes to seperating what group of fans are the ones making the most noise. I seriously have no idea (I do like listening to music while I watch games though). But this I heard so you know it was good. So loud.
  9. I have nothing against Mikel. Not the slightest bit. But I don't like his football at all. Think he's regressed from what he used to be years back. He does too little for me. But today he was fantastic. Big move from Hiddink too. But it worked out brilliantly.
  10. Authority. Complete authority. Beat them like a dirty old rug. And with grace. Loved the performance. Actually looking forward to the next game. An old feeling but it feels so new.
  11. I called you average. I questioned your role in the team. Well, I said you need to go. You must've read my posts. Unrecognisable for me. He rocked it today.
  12. Uncle Gus, I don't know what you did, maybe you put something in the drinks (don't care), but you and your team made me very happy today. Thank you. Lucky Guus is still alive. He hasn't lost.
  13. Again, the counter-attacking. 90+ min and their counter-attacking in numbers and with speed. I've witnessed crappy counter-attacking after 25 min. So beautiful. I think I'm going insane. I can't stop loving this.
  14. I'm so happy right now. Did you see that? The nonchalance in Willian's play. Too bad it didn't go in but I still love it. This is great. This is great.
  15. Diego's movement is back. I want to jump for joy. Please keep this up. That villian role was such a bore. It got to his game as well.
  16. Exactly. None of this inviting pressure crap. Or giving the ball away cheaply, numbers behind the ball. No. They went for that second goal. Such authority. I love it.
  17. This is what I call good football. I missed most of the first half but what I've seen today is a cohesive team playing with an idea. The positive football, the authority in the play, good passing moves, bright movement. Counter-attacking in numbers! How much I've missed that. I think Guus is already starting to have some effect on the team. Obi Mikel. I'm not a fan but he's been fantastic. He's actually doing something, he's taking action. Rather than the usual 'look momma, I can contain' routine. Shades of 2009 Obi. Willian, you beautiful afro-ed man. I shouted at the top of my lungs when he fired that ball in. That's what you want to see. Believe, quick thinking, genuine skill. Stellar goal. And then that move to set up Costa's goal. Again, believe, directness, an idea. He knew what he wanted to do and executed it brilliantly. It was always going in or brought back into play for a rebound. Costa looking like his old self. You can't write off players that quickly. Always looking for new toys. I hope he keeps this up. Just focus on football, get in the box. I'm so happy with this performance. Strong performance vs decent opposition. Really needed this. What a recovery after that appaling game vs Utd btw.
  18. Fair enough on Matic. I'm not his biggest fan at the moment so I'm probably being harsh.
  19. You mentioned Mourinho not willing to rotate but I thought he rotated (a lot) more in his Inter and Real Madrid days. But that's not even important, my post wasn't about rotation. My post was about the lack of quality of Mikel (and Ramires) and what they offer to the team. Maybe I should've made that more clear. I know how you feel about Mikel so any discussion about him would be useless. That last part of my post was an extension of sorts. You made think of Chelsea's midfield. I can be all over the place. It's your own fault for quoting me. You think you could convince Juve to switch midfields with Chelsea? They've been weakened after the summer but I'd still prefer that bunch.
  20. Sergi Roberto waited, or what seemed like waiting, for five years. You think those players posses that kind of patience?
  21. You're killing me, Choulo. Mikel and Ramires. Flawed, such flawed individuals. Just saying their names sounds like I'm mentioning a bad TV sitcom. Question marks over whether Matic and Fabregas are good enough to start for Chelsea? Question marks over whether Mikel and Ramires are good enough to be back-ups? Sigh. I know what my answer is. Midfield is dead.
  22. Sergi Roberto. What a transformation. He's been around for a long time but he always looked out of place. And because of that he barely played. But now he's a completely different player. He's playing fantastic football and showing great versatility as well, performing well in multiple positions. I'm shocked. Now he belongs. He was simply superb today. Who knows what would've happened if Barca were allowed to sign players (and play them). He might never have had the chance. Funny how things happen like that. And you have to love an underdog story.
  23. Rom is hot property right now. National and international buzz. You can't get around him at the moment. Think the summer of 2016 is the time to make a move. Lots of teams looking for a striker. His journey has been incredible so far. He's quite seasoned for a 22-year-old. Having followed his rise up close, so to speak, I admire his will and dedication to become better and better. He's always seemed like a nice boy so I wish him all the luck in the world. I'd love for him to completely prove me wrong about his capability to lead a top team to glory.

    U-23 XI

At this stage of his career, plenty of more experienced young players - playing at higher levels as well, have the nod above him imo. If this was U-20 team, then he's up there with the best. Bazoer is a great talent though. But he's only shown his class in the Eredivisie, mostly against the very poor teams. Not even dominating the league yet but that's normal. It's his first season as a starter. My team would easily beat your Brendan Rodgers team, Skippy. So much space in midfield to exploit.
  25. I disagree with the loyalty remark that's always made in Mikel's case. So many squad-players left not because of a lack of loyalty but because they wanted to play. And they were willing to earn less if it meant they could play. It's different when you start 15-25 games and show quality, but Mikel's happy to sit on the bench and come on for a few minutes here and there. That's his decision but I don't understand why Chelsea would have such a player on the roster. Matic and Fabregas would play game after game after game... Tired, exhausted, out of form, terribly out of form. They play. No competition. The alternative options are so bad they can't come in and do better. Forced to continue with Matic-Fabregas because what else is there? That's unbelievable for a club like Chelsea.
