  1. 74% is unacceptable. No one at top level is allowed to have such a completion rate. It's not even up to discussion. Just take a look at the best attacking midfielders in the world.
  2. Long live stereotypes! And racism! Never forget the racism.
  3. Busquets is class and I'm a fan, but I disagree with your time frame. Since 08? He wasn't even a starter back then. It was during the World Cup in 2010 Busquets started to excel in his position. 2014 was not a good year for him, his form is picking up though. So it's more like 2010-2013. For me anyway. Anyway, I think it's fair to say Pogba has been one of the top 10 midfielders this season. Players like Modric, Schweini, Diaby, Javi Martinez, Gundogan, Ozil and others have been dealing with injuries. Players like Iniesta, Busquets, Pirlo, Vidal, De Rossi and others have been dealing with form issues. But we're just getting into the fun part of the season. Now is the time to show what you're made of.
  4. A farewell party in Lebanon. Hmm... will it look something like this?
  5. Agree with what you said. That's definitely a weak part of his game. According to WhoScored, he completes 74,3% of his passes. A slight raise in the EL, 79,3%. Unacceptable at top level. That said, if that's one of your major problems as a young player, you're lucky. Especially since it's a case of dodgy decision making rather than a lack of technique. So it's something that can easily be fixed by training and experience. And the good thing is, he doesn't seem to be losing the ball in dangerous areas. Not to mention his great ability to create chances. He just needs to learn to keep it simple more often and to be more involved (more touches per game, more passes per game). And come to think of it, that's probably the only major flaw in his game. He's still a bit on the weak side but he makes it up with his impressive engine. He always seems to be on the move, including (long) sprints. He can become quite a player, just needs to take that next step. I hope Wolfsburg become a force so he doesn't join a rival. I don't think Wolfsburg would sell to Dortmund.
  6. You guys seriously lack proper fullbacks, that's so weird. And I still don't understand how Nainggolan is not a key player for Belgium. But the big problem with Belgium for me is the lack of goals.
  7. Didn't rate him in his time here, the same for his period at Juve. But he's been absolutely brilliant at Atletico. Football's a funny game, a player can take huge leaps in his development even at a late age. I'd still take him in the summer btw, regardless of his age.
  8. Belgium is one of the best national sides of the past decade? Did I miss something these last 10 years?
  9. That would be terrible. Slow starts are toxic. I really hope he hits the ground running. It builds confidence and shows the fans/players his quality. His form can dip after a strong start. That's of course assuming he'll be a succes.
  10. Villa just had to score. The whole match I kept saying this side can't score a goal, 11 goals in 23 matches. Three points and City drop points, nothing else to say.
  11. Courtois started 37 games in La Liga, 15 games in EL. He was first choice from the go. Again, he was a phenomenal talent. And Sturridge was a missed opportunity. I just hope Zouma doesn't suffer the same fate. Going out on loan is not the problem. But those constant loans are horrible, especially when it's a new team every year. Even experienced players sometimes need a year, sometimes even two to make an impact. And if a player goes out on loan and ends up hardly playing, something obviously went very wrong.
  12. There was plenty of hype surrounding Bruma at youth level. Even achieving a little first team football. That was my point. It's always a completely different game when you play with the big boys. Tibo doesn't count. First choice GK at a club like Atletico as a teenager. Obviously a rare talent. Sturridge did well at Bolton, yeah. But for Sturridge, there are like a hundred players with very disappointing loan spells. And Sturridge was dropped, and eventually let go of course, very quickly after a dip in form, a normal occurrence for any young player. Not a great example of giving young players chances.
  13. He's 19? He's played like what, 5 min? If you're not already playing some real first team football at 19, you're chances of making it at a top side like Chelsea are very, very slim.
  14. It's the same thing over and over again. A new group of 'highly talented' youngsters are making some kind of impact at youth level, and fans get all excited and predicting those players to make it through. It doesn't happen. And then a new group comes through and fans claim these (some) youngsters will make it. Ask them about the old group and you'll hear 'oh, they weren't good enough'. And so it goes on. I stopped getting excited after the Bruma, Kakuta etc. generation, and now I honestly don't care anymore. The club would have to make a conscious decision to try to develop first team players through the youth academy. That's clearly not the case. And you need a good bit of luck as well. You can't develop a Marco Van Basten or a Lionel Messi. Or even a player like Seedorf or Schweinsteiger. Ajax are famed for their academy but it's been a while since they've had a top player come through their ranks. Barca had their golden generation, but it's not the same now either. But the difference is, if they do spot a huge talent in the youth , they'll work very hard to make sure that player makes it. Whereas, only a Messi-esque talent has a shot here I think. Edit: They do develop squad players regularly though. Utd and Arsenal do the same. That's something I'd like to see at Chelsea. Anyway, I've learned to accept the current situation. If we get to see more situations like with Zouma, that's fine too. Young players growing up at Chelsea and eventually forming a strong bond with the club. The club really needs to work on those death loans though. It's obviously not a effective way of helping youngsters really develop. Neither do they feel a need to make it at Chelsea per se.
  15. Wallace is a joke. If you stand when it comes to comical defending in the Eredivisie (there's a lot of comical defending going on in that league), you have problems. Don't count on him making it here. And Ake is not a fullback, I don't think he has a future there. Doubt he'll ever make it here at all. Anyway, the club would do well to invest in a young fullback. Marseille's Mendy is a great prospect. Like Zouma, already playing regular football at a very young age. Balanced player, contributing at both ends of the pitch. If Azpi finally moves to Rb again, Mendy could cover for Luis and eventually take over.
  16. The start of a fine tradition. Oscar to join Wolfsburg in the winter of 2016! Good luck to Schurrle. Can Montana Yorke stay though?
  17. Hey, hey, hey, more respect for Santi. A Villarreal legend and a fine player since a very young age, mind you. Oscar is a first team player and a starter for the most part. So he should be judged on his performances like any other player, regardless of his age. But yes, there is (most likely) more to come from Oscar and that's why I think it's silly to write him off. But not everyone rates him, that's okay. Though I think some are harsh concerning his season overall. But he has disappeared against the higher quality sides. Right now, Oscar is not good enough to be starter (not yet anyway) at this level so I would encourage a new signing for the #10 position in the summer. Willian is definitely not the answer imo. He might think he's a #10, though I've never heard him say so himself, but he doesn't suit the role.
  18. You would love prison, Madmax.
  19. He gave me a good scare going in.
  20. It couldn't have been more than two weeks ago, don't remember. So it was after the Spurs game. He does like tall defenders but I have hope. Superior quality should trump all preferences.
  21. Don't tell me you don't remember? I said Mou should drop Cahill and Ivanovic for Zouma and Luis, and you said he won't because he has his favourites. I said I don't buy it, claiming he's flexible. Two huge games and no Cahill. Now it's just Ivanovic who's left.
  22. Yo, Pjanic. Mou dropped Cahill. Now it's time for Ivanovic.
  23. You really rate Sissoko, huh? I have to say, I don't see it. Good player but I'd rather have Ramires.
  24. That midfield is absolutely terrible on the ball. A good midfield if you're just defending. Sissoko has his strengths but if you're gonna Oscar, replace him with real quality.
